Those were actually some of my favorite times. Build blanket forts, play pirates or cowboys and indians (cancelled!), hide & seek, read to him, watch sports with him, build with legos, make movies together (have him write the script), etc.

I'd still make him nap, though. Don't lose that precious time!

Those were the days. I had suction cup arrows to launch with my bow, cap guns, a tomahawk, indian headress, cowboy hat...

I did find they still have some Cowboys and Indians and Army figures on Amazon and got a bucket of each of my middle kid. He likes them actually and used them for a while.

GAME THREAD: IU 15 @ OSU 38. FINAL.

Really? This message board looking ahead, makes Purdue's task easier?

What power.

The possibility of a mental letdown after such a big game, garnished with anticipation of a playoff position, exists with fans AND players. I’ve been witnessing Bucket games since the early 60’s and have learned that strange things can happen in this rivalry game. Plus, freezing temperature potentially makes for unusual circumstances.

My house is like the Marinovich project. Not only is he on a club team already he gets private training twice a week on top of it. He runs nonstop.

I’m talking about when winter hits, there is ice outside, and I’m trapped inside with this maniac

Futsal leagues! He can handle it!

But, seriously, I get it. The next couple of months are going to be a parental nightmare.

From what I have seen so far

I don't care about HS. You are obsessed with it. After the age of 18 he was a complete bust. You know how big of a bust you have to be to be a lottery pick and already out of the league?

Nimrod
Or...he accomplished something only a fraction of the population ever accomplishes. Did he bang your girlfriend or something? You obviously have some valid points, but your dislike for Romeo is weirdly emotional.

You don't have to "care about HS" to respect someone scoring well over 3000 points, for a big school, in Indiana. None of the fellas you've championed in recent years at IU have that gumption or that ability. And I'm not sure you understand, or give enough credit, for what he faced in high school. Every single game he played was circled on the opposing teams calendar. He was double teamed, caught dirty play, in most of his games. One of your recent favorites, X...there's zero chance he'd have made through a half season without getting in to a fight and completely flying off the handle if he faced what Romeo faced. And no, that's not an endearing thing, or any sort of sign of toughness. If anything, the exact opposite.

Do you know him personally? I know his body language was hard for some to deal with. But the kid not only scored historically high amounts of points, for a freshman at IU, he also averaged over 5 rebounds a game, over 2 assists a game, and was often tasked with guarding the other teams best perimeter scorer. Archie wasn't a great coach, but I doubt Romeo plays 34+ minutes a game, and has those roles, if he was actually lazy.

Romeo isn't a high level outside shooter though, on that you are 100 percent correct. He wasn't in high school, though I believe he pushed close to 40% from the 3 in high school. But even without the hand injury, he was never going to be a 40+ percent 3 point shooter at the higher levels of play. But to completely discount the torn ligaments in his shooting hand (that still effects him to this day, for what its worth)... it all seems a little disingenuous, and emotional.

The Onion buys Infowars

I think you are trying too hard to condemn and criticize Musk. That couldn’t be because he supports Trump, is it? Musk is an innovator and a very creative guy. He has shortcomings and arguably has skin in the game. Even with that, there is nobody, and I mean nobody, better suited to change the unsustainable government paradigm than him.

Musk is okay with ending retail subsidies for EV’s. That will help Tesla and hurt others. Even though Musk is Tesla’s largest shareholder, he only owns <25%. Regardless of how much benefit he personally gets from ending the subsidy, it’s still a good idea to end it.
I'm guessing he's not even in the team picture for possible "best suited person" to change the govt. paradigm. I don't understand this at all.

He's a good businessman and engineer.

The Onion buys Infowars

To play devil’s advocate, isn’t this a better way for that influence to manifest than the usual way it does?

It’s being done out in the wide open. And if there’s anything Musk recommends that involves one of his companies getting some kind of subsidy, etc, it will be seen by all and (obviously) scrutinized.

Also, we always assume that the removal or lack of a regulation is what interested parties want out of government influence. Sometimes it’s the addition of a regulation.
I think a lot of important things go on in government at every level that are not out in the wide open.

I wish Luke Goode would quit launching 3s....

If Goode stops shooting threes there's really no reason to play him. That's why he's on the team. What should be addressed is why IU can't figure out how to run more plays specifically to get him open. It's as easy as watching Illinois sets from last season. The other part is he appears to be rushing some of his shots. Not fully set with his legs under him.

Democrats have left moderate voters behind

On certain issues, I totally agree with this.

On other issues, Republicans need to be careful not to do the same thing. The first and most obvious one is abortion.
Putting abortion in the hands of each state is where it needs to be and Republicans need to leave it there (which I think they will).

I watched a portion of the Vance interview with I believe ABC where the reporter was schooled regarding the labor work force. She was advocating for "undocumented" immigrants in order to keep building homes. When Vance said there were millions of prime age males and females who have taken themselves out of the workforce she basically said you want them to do construction work? It was like her saying that kind of work is for non-Americans. The left is way left these days, better pull back and get rid of quacks like AOC and her group.

Did Cignetti's Words Fire Up OSU?

But even on Saturday's game day broadcast, 90 minutes before kickoff, he said "Google Me. I
Win. "Enough with that especially at that time. I am sure that Day and the Buckeyes were listening. Sometimes, it is best to just shut up and show your toughness on the field. That was one such time.
I'm not going to fault him, nor expect perfection. His personality is what makes him good, and I think it's a calculated move to try and affect the team or fanbase. It's like RMK, you have to take some of the bad with the good. The only person that matters if they have a problem with it is Dolson and he needs to address it with Cignetti if that's the case. Cignetti is arrogant, and needs that self-belief to be the coach he is. He didn't cross any improper lines and has backed up his words with his actions so far. We were going to need some breaks and exceptional performances to have a chance Saturday. But, we were there. We actually had the OSU fanbase fired up to play IU and beat our ass. They did. Just as Cignetti said, tip your hat, they are a great football team and showed us how far we have to go. But, we came a long way to create that game and environment and Coach C gets a long, long leash from me.

Did Cignetti's Words Fire Up OSU?

That seems strange. Did they really expect to break a 32 yard run wide open and have sent instructions in to go down on the 1? I'd think the running back made that decision on his own, especially since it wasn't necessary given how much they were up. It would have been a good strategy if they weren't already up 2 scores (to keep the ball and control it).
I think they just have a standing rule if they're up by more than 1 score and you get a breakaway, you go down at the 1 when under 2 minutes. I forget what show I was watching, but it sounds like those are pretty standard instructions for a lot of programs.
