WMD in Iraq

As far as the "why" is concerned...

The Bush administration itself kept the lid on this information, due to the fact that these weapons were not "what they were looking for". These were older weapons, and were not being used in combat. Most of the injuries came as a result of exposure during discovery and handling.

The Bush administrative was looking for evidence of an active chemical weapons program. These were not that evidence. They actually added weight to the notion that Iraq had abandoned their chemical Rapids program.

Iraq always had WMD's

that was never in dispute as they killed countless Iranians during the Iran-Iraq war (1980-1988) and he then turned them on the Kurds killing thousands of them in 1991 after we expelled Iraqi forces from Kuwait. What troubled most people after we took over Iraq in 2003 was there was no sophisticated nuclear program and Iraq wasn't an imminent threat to the U.S. but they always had weapons that were deadly and capable of mass killing.
