Looks like the so called ( moderate ) just endorsed him. Dems are not moderating at all they are going even further left and I fully expect an AOC type to be nominee in 2028. I do hope the voters in NYC enjoy the massive tax and fee increases coming their way next year.

The Democratic leader in the US Senate is boasting about having prevented an industrial project from happening.

Man, you’re wrong a lot in this thread. Of course there are both left and right wing versions of populism.
I'll defend C.O. Populism is an arbitrary term that is used ubiquitously to describe things we don't agree with or like. Like the "isms" it's overused and has become a useless term that should be retired from modern day discussion. I got you Professor 😁

Donald Trump enjoyed grabbing women by the pussy. Its the only thing thats normal the last 16-20 years... Obama grabbed dudes by the D, Biden grabbed kids by only god knows who, and President Donald Trump likes to grab a woman by the p*ssy. You probably are mad he didnt wear a mask while doing it.
Dumb. Sounds like you just wished shit stain had grabbed you by the pussy

None of that negates the fact that it is possible, and there have been historical examples of, populist movements on both the left and right. It's downright silly to argue otherwise.

AOC needs to get her 2028 campaign in gear yesterday. Democratic primary voters have spoken loud and clear that they know what they want.
i don't know how long i've told the lefties on this board that she is the party. that progressivism isn't some far left fringe part of the party that it is the party. we saw it loud and clear in biden's first 100 days. aoc will be the dem candidate in 2028

and there's nothing worse and more dangerous to the country we love

Honestly, I have no clue what you guys are discussing because that would require me to read all the posts 😳 My main objective was protecting "The Prof" at all costs. Putting that aside, I don't put much stock in anything we can't properly measure.

She's a bad b#tch. We are going to have our hands full in 28. If the economy isn't humming along, she'll be the next President.

You might want to rethink your stance on Bitcoin @JamieDimonsBalls. Eventually, the socialists get to take over and control the capital in this dog shit fiat system. Take the orange pill. That's goes for you too @twenty02.

I'm not sold she will be, but if she is, you're the first one here to have predicted it.

But there is no question that the woke progressives are surging within the party. All the gaslighting about how they're nobodies who have no pull or affect on American life is proven, yet again, wrong.

Schumer was not well-liked by progressives before voting to raise the debt ceiling. Now he is hated. An endorsement of Cuomo would never have helped. He likely will lose to AOC.

Wait. Progressives don’t want to raise the debt ceiling? When did that flip flop happen?

Socialist “tendencies?”

He’s a member of the DSA. His policies and ideology are much different than Trump’s.
I never said he and Trump had the same policies.

Bernie has often been called a left-wing populists. They have different beliefs from right-wing. The idea that an "elite" is crushing them is the populist message.

I think the difference between MAGA and left wing populism is that MAGA wants to go back to what made America great.

Left wing populism seeks to remake America into something entirely new and “better”.
this is a good post and accurate.

i was all in on the last election and trump because harris/biden/pete/aoc/squad etc are all progressives. i wanted progressivism to lose and die off and i thought that would be the case if trump won.

i was wrong. it's not going anywhere. and i think that's a shame on a couple of fronts. ignoring the warts or merits of it the reality is that it evidences our divide. ny city, chicago, calif, see and want a country that is very much polar to what all of those red counties between ny and calif want. you add it up that divide is pretty damn equal. so we have a country that isn't divided in the middle over minor matters we have a country that is divided in political extremes over very fundamental things. i don't think that's a healthy thing for a country.

so i'm going to miss you and so many other posters but i am glad this board is ending because i'm going to tap on politics and double down on The McBee Dynasty and other shows and maybe take an interest in the championship this fall etc. i think politics are going to be really ugly for years to come

I know. I'm just pointing out that we shouldn't soft sell Mamdani's socialism. He doesn't have "tendencies" that happen to be socialist, he IS a socialist.

As you know, I don't consider that, in and of itself, pejorative.
