Hacking computers is important, but it's kind of a sideshow. What the Russians really did to interfere in the election - and what they continue to do - is to hack brains. The bots spread - and are still spreading - false stories in order to get people worked up and angry and manipulate their behavior in various ways.

FTR I think a far more likely and much less sinister reason for the designation of a "sensitive matter group" is to protect the anonymity of the folks BEING investigated.
Would sort of be keeping in line with the whole FBI keeping the Trump Investigation SECRET till AFTER the election phenomenon.
