Just read the final rankings for the '15 Class and we're ranked # 27.

Will the Crean groupies PLEASE stop slobbering all over him with, "He's an awesome recruiter!!"

Please?

And stop with the, "It's not his fault. He's on the hot seat so that drives players away" nonsense.

Will this class be better than "The Movement" when it's all said and done?

It is a small class and we were able to get the #6 center in the country which we desperately needed. Hopefully the other two will come in and be role players at first then in a couple of years will be ready to contribute.

I agree. I think we could get along. Can you tell me where your season tickets are in Assembly Hall so I can buy you a diet coke next fall? Where do you sit? I am in E/15...are you close to that?

In a couple of years, Crean will have over-signed once again so he'll have to run off these players so he can make room for more 3 stars no one ever heard of.

...and they are ranked 14th going into 2015/2016. Looks depressing...

"Maryland is the Big Ten's runaway favorite, but the competition will be slightly more fierce than what Wisconsin experienced a season ago. (The vast majority of the Big Ten season was played before March, which is why Michigan State didn't go 18-0.) Indiana is atop that second tier. The Hoosiers are bringing almost all of their considerable offensive firepower back, from guards Yogi Ferrell, James Blackmon Jr. and Robert Johnson, to rim-running four Troy Williams, to the coterie of floor-spacing sharpshooters (Nick Zeisloft, Collin Hartman) that often made Indiana one of the nation's most watchable teams. Adding No. 6-ranked freshman center Thomas Bryant should mean better interior defense and rebounding. But, man, can they put the ball in the bucket."

Actually, that is.

For his 8th year, some "fans" are actually giddy at the prospect of making the Sweet 16 and say that would be "good enough" for them.

Crean's lowered expectations have turned us into Purdue.

Barf.

#14 doesn't particularly disgust me. #1 three years ago longer than anyone else.

Other than that, 0 final fours from 1993-2001. 1 final four in 2002. 0 final fours since. Knight/Davis/Sampson/Dakich/Crean all have sucked for the last 20+ years.

Hey...one final four in 22 years is still better than Purdue!!!

What is your solution? You are the AD...who do you hire tomorrow that you can pay and that will come???

Im curious - how do you know you will be in E-15 this year before the on line selection process has taken place? Ive been under the impression that seats above the rails are subject to on line selection.

Good question. I don't know for sure. I was there last year. I actually buy two singles rather than a pair together and I get way better seats that way. I pick on August 19th so I will find out then. I had E/13 and E/15 seats #9 in both rows last year...one right behind the other with a row between them. I only went to two games (OSU and Purdue) but my wife and I were able to sit together both times so it is worth it. I sold most of the rest and got most of my money back.

I appreciate the response - best of luck with your selection!

Lucky we sucked out on Bryant late (and that 'Cuse got in trouble!). Otherwise, we may have been looking at the 127th ranked class.

Pretty sure our 2010 class ranked lower. How did that one turn out? I would say pretty darn good. So, you can't be sure based solely on rankings. You get the right players to fit your needs, and get one or more that were "under the radar", and you could end up with a tremendous class. You might want to let this play out before acting an azz...

I've heard/seen fans yelling "We are Number one!" many times. However, this is the first time to see someone say, with his fist in the air:
"We are #27! We are #27!"

I am assuming you are serious, no?

Is this ranking influenced by the numbers of recruits or the average the rank of each player? It would be nice to be #1 every year, but sometimes you won't have the number of recruits to raise your ranking.

We recruited the one player we had to get and Beilfeldt as his experienced primary backup. I would have loved to get a 5 star pg for this year to be the successor to Yogi. The 2016 class offers several good players that will know they can step in and be the man from day 1. We got two players that look good on paper and will have a year to get stronger and improve.

What was the 2 man class of Sheehey and Oladipo? As long as we get the players we need, I don't care what our class is ranked.

We only got half of what we needed.

I'm glad you know what I should think and say. The last I looked, we live in a country that allows for freedom of choice, tolerance is a good thing. Your disdain and Spa's manlove are equally entertaining, especially when taken to extremes that you both do...and the "you're settling for mediocrity" is as original as "He's an awesome recruiter"..just sayin....keep on keeping on man. It's too funny.

I'd hire Fife and Calbert as his assistant.

He has countless groupies who would be completely satisfied with a Sweet 16 this year.

Heck, Glass would probably give him a 10 year extension on his contract.

Your only reply ever " who you hire if your AD"

When will you realize we have a very poor coach and we pay him like a top teir coach? Expectations are high, let's see how the season goes. If the season is an average one and we lose 10-12 games he will be gone.

The civil rights play on a message board, classic! And you're ragging on him for being extreme? If he's mean to you again, are you going to call Obama?

We added quite possibly the best impact big man in all of high school and your upset. Bryant is a stud who will take us to another level from day one.

As a fellow blue blood, I can't believe you guys aren't raising more ruckus. We ran off two coaches in a matter of 4 years. Then we hung 2FF banners a runner up and a Championship Banner in 5 years.

I root for IU outside of UK, due to I lived in Seymour for a while.

Agree. You still never answer the question though. Greg Marshall, Shaka Smart and Brad Stevens are not coming. Archie Miller? Stephanie White? Who is your first choice?

how do you know Marshall wouldn't come?

Maybe he will. He just signed a $23 million dollar contract for seven years so you have to buy out Crean, maybe buy out Marshall and then pay him at least $23 million for the next seven years...for a guy who has taken Wichita St. to four NCAA tournaments in 8 years. Serious upgrade!

God forbid, Greg Marshall gets hit by a bus tomorrow. Who is plan B in your universe with regard to replacing Tom Crean?

Maybe we could get Steve or Damon or maybe Bobby might come back! (said with my biggest southern Indiana hillbilly accent).

Seriously what is your deal? You don't honestly think a job at IU and a top ten salary will get some interest from some really good coaches? Crean has been a coach 16 years....what you see is what you get at this point. As for Marshall, he took over at WSU and has went 204–76 (.729) with a final four and a sweet 16.....I repeat at Wichita St!!

If you guarantee me that Marshall would come I would fire Crean today because Marshall would be my #1 choice for our new coach

Still a jackass with a new name. Seriously dude, why don't you go follow some other team. Your crap is old and you are a bore. From indystar boards to here. You seem like you are such a miserable person and you try to bring that misery and know-it-all mentality everywhere you post.

Anyone force you to read my posts, crybaby?

And what I said is all fact: Crean is very mediocre and it's a shame so many "fans" are perfectly ok it.

4* out of 8 at a school that made it to one tournament in the 20 years prior to his arrival. He also got Winthrop to the tournament 7 out of 9 times.

You don't seem real informed. You may want to sit these coaching discussions out.

*one of the years they missed the tourney they won the NIT and were ranked 25th in Kenpom. That's higher than Crean has finished at IU in all years except for the time Zeller was here.
