Now that history is in the books keeping Knight was the best option; yes there would have been years of mediocrity, but would it had been this bad? Knights health would have pushed him out of coaching anyways probably 5-8 years ago. Fools pure fools. They successfully impeached our General shame on them!

You may think this is ancient history and so why bother. My view is that many of these fans have still learned nothing from this history and so it is likely to repeat again and again.

No it’s not. Stop.
YEs it is Knight did worse things that he could have been fired for over the years, they concocted a story with a video, found a "Dr Ford or Vindman" to look like the victim (Neil Reed) sold the story to ESPN (insert CNN) created a negative public image and impeached his ass. That's what they did. Never mind that Knight got Neil Reeds alcoholic father a job and tried to help him out. Liberals are sick people I say.

Oh my. This sounds like Deep State paranoid babble. Nice satire that will illicit a few chuckles, since it’s light years from reality.

Wow, you're such a dumbass and just another reason this forum has gone to shit. The truth is RMK - though a GREAT basketball coach - is a jerk. There's many, many stories of him doing inappropriate things through the years that would have cost most people their jobs. But he won championships in those days and he built his legend at IU. When he stopped winning as much, he became more vulnerable and Brand fired him after some much publicized incidents. The whole thing was unfortunate, but it DID save IU from RMK demanding Pat Knight be handed the IU job if he'd retired from here. We saw how that went at TT - no good.

You are incorrect. There were no termination for cause events that would apply in the industry I am familiar with. He yelled at his players BFD. Really a reach to bring up the Pat Knight angle.

My coaches in high school did worse than what RMK did and not only were they not fired they were respected.

Some young men need to be yelled at. They don't get it till they hear it loudly. I've got a small grandson and there are times when I got to raise the level of my voice so that he will comply. It's the nature of young men. It's why they yell at you in basic training. Sometimes we need it.

Then you’re not very familiar with Knight’s history at IU. Thanks for confirming what we all came to realize about you.

No but I know how the media and liberals operate since watching them try to take down Brett Kavanaugh and Trump.....It's exactly what they did to Knight lead by Myles Brand what a POS

Lol. You’re clueless.

Birnk 403 keeps repeating things because he has been outed. I’m sure you will do the same thing here too, troll
I’ll end it here: While it was great to see Knight, he was overwhelmingly responsible for his termination. The fans that have continued to make excuses for that represent a culture that is, thankfully, a fading aspect of IU basketball. Sad to see him in ill health, but his exile was self imposed.

Don’t agree. You are a pitiful excuse for an IU fan. What IU tradition. These people hate-
Knight-yelled at players
Davis-losses
Samson-texted recruits
Crean-losses
Arch-losses

Must be sad to find offense with every coach for the last 50 years. You disgust me
