We have a lot of offers out there, but are we actually in the lead with anyone?

You don't think Phinisee will be playing at an All-B10 level as a Jr/Sr? TJD as a sophomore? Hunter a former top 50 recruit assuming he comes back healthy? You need role players as well and nothing screams role player like a 5th year Brunk and a Sr Durham. There's only 2-3 teams in the country who start a 5* at every position and it's never going to be IU.
RP could possibly get to that level, as could TJD. Hunter has way too many question marks to form any opinion about his ability to contribute. As for the rest, there are reasonable doubts about the quality level and development of those players. Merely saying that age and experience will make players better is superficial, at best.

What is there not to like about Galloway's game? He's big, strong, and deceptively athletic and has an extremely high basketball IU. If IU passes on him, watch him go play for Ohio State, Michigan State, or Nebraska and let him burn us. Wouldn't be the first time an Indiana player who doesn't have a high national ranking comes back to bite us.
6’4 kid that can’t shoot? No thanks

No waaaay he is better than Lander or Leal

Have you watched them play this summer? I'll take Galloway over Leal any day of the week. He's bigger, more athletic, a lot stronger, and a better scorer. Lander is a different animal that projects to be much better in the long run, but Galloway has been far and away Indiana Elite's best player this summer and it's no contest.

He suffered through a wrist injury last year and that explains his poor percentage. But during the AAU circuit against much better competition, Galloway has shot much better than Leal. The notion that Galloway "can't shoot therefore we don't want him" is nonsense. There's a reason Galloway has a better offers.

He’s not better than Lander, who is and will be a far more impactful player. Not close.

Again, read what I wrote. He's been the best player on Indiana Elite and it's not even close. I already stated above where Lander projects to be a better basketball player, but that isn't what is being argued. Galloway leads Indiana Elite in ppg (16), 3pt% (38), and overall shooting % (61). He's second on the team in rebounds and is easily the best defender on the team. There isn't an argument that anybody but Galloway has been the best player on Indiana Elite this summer.

Where are these stats coming from? How many games?

I read it, but Lander has s still the better player, by far.

What u posted is 13 games

Stats haven't been updated from the tournament they just played in Birmingham, but Indiana Elite has played 20 games this AAU circuit and is 14-6, good for 4th best record.

Galloway's stats in Alabama last weekend

6 total games

Minnesota Magic 5 pts 2-8 shooting 0-2 3pt
Compton Magic 21 pts 9-15 shooting 2-4 3pt
Cali Rebels 12 pts 5-9 shooting 0-2 3pt
Team Cooper 8 pts 4-5 shooting 0-1 3pt
Exum Elite 15 pts 5-11 shooting 3-6 3pt
Atlanta Celtics 13 pts 6-8 shooting 1-1 3pt

So by my count averaged 12 ppg, 31-56 shooting (55%), 6-16 3pt (38%)

Citing statistics is easy because t superficial. If you’ve seen them play, there’s no debate.

No one is arguing Lander isn't a better basketball player from an individual standpoint in terms of ceiling and future professional considerations. Galloway has been the best player for Indiana Elite this summer.

Again, you’re just referencing statistics. Superficial, at best, especially since you haven’t seen them play.

I've seen both. Youngest son plays for one Eric Gordon's 7th grade team. We've been at some of the same tournaments. The Run and Slam up in Fort Wayne, Galloway was the MVP.
So you’ve seen him once and only for a brief period, which is why statistics are your only support here. Lander is the best player on that team. Ask a coach.

He's the better player, he hasn't been the best player on that team. Again, reading comprehension. Learn it, live it, love it

It seems like we're 2nd tier with those outside IN that have been offered, and neither Leal nor Galloway has jumped at the chance to be wearing the candy stripes.
Possibley Galloway but that is about it from what I see.

Our best-case scenario class of Diarra, Cross, Leal & Galloway wouldn't be a top 20 ranked class.

Last year OSU had a class of 4, with 3 being in the top 50. They were ranked #16.

Kansas had a class of 4--#s 44, 47, 93 & 106. They were #18.

Diarra is 71, Cross 79, Leal 112, and Galloway isn't in the top 150.

I'd be very happy with that class, but it wouldn't be ranked high nationally.
I dont think we get both Leal and Galloway. I think Leal may head out of state.

So what about all the statistical data I just provided...
Average player I would say. Solid but nothing spectacular. If we had a five man class he would be a fine 5th player. Iu needs to up its talent, not sure he ups the talent any.

Counting my blessings that you’re not an evaluator of talent and nowhere near affiliated with the coaching staff. Will be a multi-year starter in the B10 wherever he goes.

Are you related? You seem emotionally connected to him.

Not at all. There’s a reason why Michigan State, Purdue, and Ohio State have all offered and why Michigan and Kansas are starting to draw interest. And it’s not because he’s an average talent just like you aren’t an evaluator of talent.

Relax buddy, I’m not attacking you. I have seen him twice and didn’t think much of him. I will be interested to see if the programs you mention actually push for him. An offer doesn’t mean they are recruiting you actively.

“Trey, this is Coach Holtmann at Ohio State. We’d like to extend to you an offer to play at The Ohio State University although we won’t be actively recruiting you. Think it over will you? I hope you still choose us”.

You just proved you don’t understand recruiting.

I don’t like Galloway game at all. Take Cross, and leal and build around those two.
He has offers from Michigan State, Purdue, and Butler among others. I think I’ll take their opinion over yours. Why wouldn’t you want to have a hard-nosed, outside shooting, Indiana born court leader on the team? SMH
