Trump’s history of corruption is mind-boggling. So why is Clinton supposedly the corrupt one?

To summarize:
  1. Trump’s casino bankruptcies, which left investors holding the bag while he skedaddled with their money
  2. Trump’s habit of refusing to pay contractors who had done work for him, many of whom are struggling small businesses
  3. Trump University, which includes not only the people who got scammed and the Florida investigation, but also a similar story from Texas where the investigation into Trump U was quashed.
  4. The Trump Institute, another get-rich-quick scheme in which Trump allowed a couple of grifters to use his name to bilk people out of their money
  5. The Trump Network, a multi-level marketing venture (a.k.a. pyramid scheme) that involved customers mailing in a urine sample which would be analyzed to produce for them a specially formulated package of multivitamins
  6. Trump Model Management, which reportedly had foreign models lie to customs officials and work in the U.S. illegally, and kept them in squalid conditions while they earned almost nothing for the work they did
  7. Trump’s employment of foreign guest workers at his resorts, which involves a claim that he can’t find Americans to do the work
  8. Trump’s use of hundreds of undocumented workers from Poland in the 1980s, who were paid a pittance for their illegal work
  9. Trump’s history of being charged with housing discrimination
  10. Trump’s connections to mafia figures involved in New York construction
  11. The time Trump paid the Federal Trade Commission $750,000 over charges that he violated anti-trust laws when trying to take over a rival casino company
  12. The fact that Trump is now being advised by Roger Ailes, who was forced out as Fox News chief when dozens of women came forward to charge him with sexual harassment. According to the allegations, Ailes’s behavior was positively monstrous; as just one indicator, his abusive and predatory actions toward women were so well-known and so loathsome that in 1968 the morally upstanding folks in the Nixon administration refused to allow him to work there despite his key role in getting Nixon elected.

on the other hand, free trade and offshoring have cost far more working people far more in earnings than Trump ever did. (which doesn't make DT any better, and it's like people never knew what bankruptcy did before this).

and neocon thinking has cost dearly in both lives and money.

pretty sad the beyond pathetic choice we're left with.

we can blame those who think open immigration is out of control for DT, but at least they have a credible gripe.

we got Hillary, because the women cared more about getting a woman than anything else, and because of a corrupt party system.

Oh is that why we got Hillary? Please supply data to support that.

Don't forget Trump makes all his products overseas too. How in the world is he against free trade? I don't believe him for a nanosecond. Then again I don't believe anything he says except for all the racist and bigoted comments he makes. That's the only time he sounds honest.

Actually, we got Hillary because no other legitimate Democratic candidate wanted to participate as it seemed pretty clear that the party had decided it was Hillary's Turn. Bernie put up a fight, but lets face it, he was fringe and a bit of a kook. Hillary was chosen for you.

Now as to how we got Trump, well sorry, I can't decipher that level of crazy.

What frosts me the most about Trump is his connections to Russia and his overtures to Putin. He's going to allow that bankrupt wannabe Napoleon to take over all of Eastern Europe. Russia will go broke in the next few years if Trump doesn't interfere with the inevitable but no Putin had "nice things to says about him", so he's a great guy now.

Republicans are suddenly the pro Russia party. They don't care that Trump campaign manager was an unregistered foreign agent who tried to influence US policy. He only quit the campaign after we all found out he committed a felony.

Republicans didn't seem to notice because Hillary.

Not sure of your definition of "corruption" I see a lot of business issues but no "corruption". I don't think Hillary is corrupt just an egotistical liar who defines truth as anything that benefits her.

So exactly like Trump but with a better grasp of world affairs and decorum.

I was intrigued by Martin O'Malley, but he didn't stick around long enough. He seemed to be a promising candidate; progressive but not hard left, and none of the Clinton baggage.

Is "ethically challenged" a better choice of words here? It goes to integrity- the thing that Hillary lacks also. It appears Trump was directly involved in many of these "business ventures", which by the way is a laughable way to view the multiple things listed in the initial thread by the OP. And by my count, these transgressions "Trump" her transgressions. Pun intended. Isn't Trump's appeal supposed to be that he would run this country like a business? If he ran this country like he ran his businesses, we're screwed.

The man has some serious issues telling the truth. As evidenced by his multiple shifting positions on policy- during this campaign alone. Hillary has shifted, but hasn't swerved all over the damn place like Trump has during the past year or so.

However, if we're talking the ability to tell the truth when speaking (veracity), then Hillary is hands down better also. Multiple fact check organizations have rated Trump as far and away the biggest liar (yes, that's a strong term) among any decent politician. The closest second was Ted Cruz. Hillary was close to the bottom of all major politicians ranked. And it has been posted several times on this forum already, so I'm not going to link it again.
Oh
Couple his narcassism with his inability to tell the truth (remember his claim that the Purple Heart donor told him it was a real Purple Heart), his serious lack of understanding of foreign policy, his apparent love affair with Putin and Russia (because Putin has manipulated his huge ego with compliments apparently), and his propensity for attacking even the slightest (sometimes imagined) provocations and you have the most unqualified major party nominee, well, ever.

In any normal election cycle, Hillary would be beaten like a drum. And rightly so. She's competent, but other than that there's not a lot to get excited about if you're a democrat. And Tim Kaine is as interesting as watching paint dry.

But the pubs snatched defeat from the jaws of victory when they nominated Trump. And also chose Mike Pence as his running mate- you know, the guy who may have lost his re-election campaign in Indiana.

It's really unbelievable that the polls are tightening. It simply proves that we're growing closer to the world of the movie "idiocracy" every day.

Your definition of Hillary is a lot like mine of Trump, but adding in the racist, misogynist, xenophobic part. You see no corruption in Trump paying people to not join in the Trump University case? In fact, you don't consider bilking thousands of people hoping for a better life through his fraudulent university as corruption? So what exactly is YOUR definition of it? As for the Donald's lying...he's just a little different. He lies just for the fun of it, sometimes when it doesn't even benefit him. Just because. Like when he pretended to be someone else on phone calls. His lies are ridiculous....and so easy to prove. Example: saying he was against Libya invasion when he is in tape encouraging it.
