These are not political prisoners

Only 30 percent of all Americans supported pardons for these criminals. Only a bit over half of Republicans did - no doubt the MAGAs who no longer consider law and order a priority. This is burning a ton of Trump’s political capital on his first day. Very bad decision.

By the way “alot” is not a word. It’s “a lot.”
All of the prisoners should have been released by midnight on Monday. There were several cases where Federal prison officials did not comply within the timeframe. This should be investigated.

What’s important is there was something done to hold them accountable for injecting disinformation into a presidential campaign.
Again. What you're accusing the 51 of is precisely what they thwarted. If there wasn't time to vet the information, who's at fault?

No matter who wrote the letter it was contemporaneously accurate, unlike the underlying disinformation the Trump team was disseminating.

The Trump team was openly searching for dirt with an admitted Russian agent who says it was all lies. Only the best people.

Trump was impeached for the quid pro quo in the perfect phone call. Bribing for dirt for the world to hear.

And make no mistake, the 51 aren't having their clearances revoked as a punishment for injecting disinformation. They're being revoked because they didn't allow Trump to disinform.

Did Trump revoke Comey's clearance for the email dump? When did he get rid of Comey? One of the best people.

That part is only true if they were to include classified information in their speech. That would be rare and would be as a guest speaker invited to a classified government event. That doesn’t pay very much. They get per diem, travel and lodging for a day or so and a max of $2500 a day speaking fee. That may have gone up a little in the last decade, but not much if it did. The real money for the high up muckety mucks (former Directors, Secretaries, Presidents, etc.) is the corporate speaking circuit and books, and all that is unclassified. This will do no actual financial damage to them. It’s a symbolic gesture.
It is a symbolic gesture, yes. But it’s an important one - if we care about public confidence in our core institutions, anyway. And I’d say we should.

I’m talking about the corporate speaking circuit. I’m not talking about disclosing classified info. A former mucky muck who has been stripped of security clearance I don’t think is as valuable.

I doubt the corporate speaking circuit will care about that. They're unclassified speeches by former big shots and clearance isn't relevant. Besides, many that speak on that circuit have been out of their jobs for years and don't have clearances anyway. It's not like they lost them for committing crimes. That might matter. Some or most of the 51 likely don't have clearances any longer either. I recall a few of them were on government consulting contracts and those probably did/do.

All the fake tears from the Dems are incredible.

It just amazing the lefties on here are up in arms over J6 but crickets over biden letting out a guy who killed two FBI agents and other murderers. Also, they burned 164 structures to the ground in the Minneapolis RIOTS and from what I have read only four people got a jail sentence over this. Amazing they could not find anyone else to arrest but somehow you could find grandma who walked into the capital. The hypocrisy of you lefties is beyond comical but I guess when CNN tells you over and over again MAGA are terrorists you start to believe it. I knew the J6 pardons would set them off and boy was I right! Once the J6 lawsuits start it will set them off even further.

What type of lawsuits are going to come from the January 6 folks?

You can’t be serious.

Comey was bilaterally awful. The Hillary fiasco followed by the clandestine leak of his notes of the Trump meeting. He had no sense. The worst.
No, sir. I'm alluding to DJT's hiring the "best people". They were all the best people, until when? What do they all have in common?

If you give DJT the benefit of every doubt, you're left with, he's a terrible judge of character.

I think he assembled an outstanding group to become part of his administration. Not all of them, but many.

When he ran I was concerned that quality people wouldn’t touch him with a 10 foot poll. The opposite is true.

I think we'll have to wait and see. If I were a betting man, I'd say he'll be trashing 30-40% of these cabinet appointees on X/Truth Social before Christmas. I could be wrong though.

My point exactly. Your hidden premise is that DJT got outplayed at his own game by an unfit dementia patient and his crack head son.

I agree with @twenty02 . Fks, all of them.

Good night, y'all.
DJT was overwhelmed by a massive force of media, big tech, government, Democrats and a virus. He had no chance.

Trump learned many lessons the first time around. His AG is not going to recue herself when Chuck S starts telling her too. Also, big tech is not controlled by leftists anymore and most people think the legacy media is a joke. We now have alternative media and don't need ABC or CNN. Vance will have a very good chance of getting elected in 2028 as long as the economy is in decent shape and the border is secure. Administrations usually do win two terms in a row. Trump had no chance with Covid but still almost won. Biden would have won again in he would have just secured the border and not spent like crazy.

Not the value. The value is their continuing access to secret/confidential/crypto confidential materials. So many of these prostitutes are snapped up upon retirement by a myriad of 'defense' and surveillance industry companies, specifically for this access.

This post is a great demonstration of what I mean when I say that Donald Trump being the target has clouded people's judgment about it.

Again. What you're accusing the 51 of is precisely what they thwarted. If there wasn't time to vet the information, who's at fault?

What does that matter? Something has either been properly vetted or it hasn't. And for intel pros to express a view on something that hasn't been properly vetted is reckless.

It doesn't become less reckless by complaining that they weren't given enough time. If they had properly vetted it (and weren't being disingenuous), they'd have never written that letter.

As DNI Ratcliffe pointed out at the time, they had no reason to believe the laptop was a Russian op.

No matter who wrote the letter it was contemporaneously accurate, unlike the underlying disinformation the Trump team was disseminating.

What in the world does "contemporaneously accurate" mean?

They were wrong. Are you aware of something that was cited as having been pulled from the hard drive that was fabricated? Because you seem to be suggesting you are.

Whether or not the intel people knew what they were suggesting is false only they can say. That does matter -- it's the difference between knowingly lying and making a false declaration due to insufficient evidence. But the only two explanations here are dishonesty and irresponsibility. And neither one of them is good.

Did you notice that arguments their lawyer made are (a) they have a 1A right to say whatever they want (even if it's false) and (b) they included the words "all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation" as a caveat?

While that's a tepid defense on its own, it seems important to note that the "earmarks" caveat was missing when their letter was cited by Joe Biden as proof that the laptop was a "Russian plant" and "garbage". Here....

Keep in mind when you watch that video two things: (1) Joe Biden almost certainly knew when he said it that the laptop was genuine...unless he was so derelict as to not even ask his own son about it, and (2) the genesis of the letter was his own campaign. Mike Morell has testified that he was approached by Antony Blinken about putting it out.

And make no mistake, the 51 aren't having their clearances revoked as a punishment for injecting disinformation. They're being revoked because they didn't allow Trump to disinform.

I'm certainly not defending anything and everything Donald Trump has ever said or claimed. I'm more than happy to call out his bullshit when he's spewing it. Have in the past, will in the future.

But, in this instance, what you're saying is precisely backwards. The laptop was authentic. And I'm not aware of anything that has been reported as coming from it that was not authentic. The Russians didn't have the first thing to do with it.

So, yes, the 51 intel vets are being punished for having propagated disinformation.....even if their defense is that they tacked on a disclaimer. The entire purpose of the letter was to provide cover for the Biden campaign and the media to denounce it as fraudulent.

But the laptop wasn't fraudulent. Their suggestion that it was a "Russian information operation" was.

60% of R's believe the 2020 election was stolen. No evidence. Zero. DJT is winning the misinformation game. It's not even close. That's why he's still here. Big media/misinformation is his friend.

Our politics and choices are so bad. It might take several cycles before we have another two-termer. A lot will depend on the economy in 4 years. It will be interesting to see how a huge spike in M1 mingles with his fiscal decisions. The dow could be 60k or 26k. Again, timing is everything.

Their value on the rubber chicken circuit is their security clearance and presumed inside info. They are now worthless as public speakers and authors.
Disagree on their worth - they’ll become heroes & martyrs of the left, selling books & speaking engagements to the folks that are only interested in “getting Trump” for something. Many of the folks that are on here calling this a nothing burger & arguing against it’s significance.

The 'lack of time' was the window leading to the upcoming election
and being pushed by Dem operatives Blinken and Morrell.
