I wanted to see what it was like living as a sheep today. I was driving home from Mobile, alone in my jeep.
At one point I sneezed and though the best thing to do was to reach up on my rear view mirror, grab a mask and put it on, just to help prevent me catching this bug from my sneeze.
FTR, it's been about 10 hours and I still feel fine, so they may be onto something after all.

So South Africa released data on vaccine effectiveness regarding omicron. They said the Pfizer vaccine was 33% effective at blocking infection, 70% effective at preventing hospitalization.
This second story is probably a bit too early to know for sure. Seattle and NYC tracked infections by vaccinated and unvaccinated. Both went up as omicron took hold, and again it is early, but vaccinated people were still much less likely to test positive. So there appears to still be some protection by the vaccine but not nearly what we would want. So it appears, and the data below is early, it isn't quite true that the vaccine offers no protection.

Judge Jeffrey Brown, who was appointed by former President Trump, wrote that the order exceeded the president's authority.
The case is about "whether the President can, with the stroke of a pen and without the input of Congress, require millions of federal employees to undergo a medical procedure as a condition of their employment," Brown wrote.
The Department of Justice immediately said it would appeal.
