The NFL's Conundrum......

Why do you have virus in quotations? You need to do some more research. They were working on the Covid vaccine for decades, to be prepared for this. Just like they have to change it a bit each year for the variations, as they do with the flu shot. Michael Lewis’ book on the pandemic explains exactly how long they have been working on it and why it’s wrong to call it experimental. You’ve been lucky so far.
How have I've been lucky so far?

So what you’re saying is you completely made up the very specific fact that Florida was trailing the rest of the nation in measles and mumps vaccinations

What the hell is wrong with you weirdo? Do you have a life outside of politics.
His MO is to find some nut-bag article that supports his nut-bag beliefs and then make his post so long and boring that no one wants to take the time to respond to his bullshit.

Kudos to you for calling him out on it.

The book is The Premonition by Michael Lewis. It discusses the years spent working on the vaccine with the scientists who developed it.

By not getting it and only knowing one person who has died from Covid.
When did I say I never got it.? I never tested myself for it. I feel like there were two times I felt like I got it but its there and what ya gonna do? Test and Prove it? I dont look to get off of work and with how well we were told (lol) face mask work (lol) then there were never any worries while I was at work.

This issue was discussed as far as a month ago, when the alarming decrease in childhood vax rates was revealed. I thought it alarming at the time, and decided to make note of it, but I did not post it here.

Then the Nazi starts a ridiculous thread and people who should be alarmed to find themselves allied with an outright Nazi are falling all over themselves to jump in and look stupid over a ridiculous claim...

The NHL has had FIVE cardiac incidents on ice/bench during games over the last 25 years. This may be the sport with the overall best rate of cardio fitness (they skate on ice wearing as much equipment/pads as football) and yet they have had perfectly healthy men suffer cardiac issues. And not a single one has involved the covid vaccine...

Now with 5 previous incidents including the most recent a Feb 2020 incident (which if anything could be a precursor of the virus itself), don't you think that if the vaccine were a factor it might make far more sense for that to show up in an incident within a much more rigorous environment of vaccine mandate compliance? ie Canada/NHL... It seems common sense is sadly incompatible with conspiracy theories...

The conspiracy theorists on this board are the epitome of the definition I posted earlier. I wonder which is rarer- a case of commotio cordis (Chris Pronger) or functioning brain cells among some of you. It's like you're members of a remote tribe in New Guinea afraid of having your picture taken because the camera will steal your soul...

"Hockey has had enough of these situations to make doctors and trainers ready for handling the next one.

The NHL's emergency action plan requires at least three physicians, two ambulances and automated external defibrillators (AEDs) at all arenas, which now have removable benches to clear space for medical attention.

It's a plan that has evolved: electrocardiogram (EKG) tests first became mandatory for players in 1998, and in 2005 a doctor was simply required to be within 50 feet of the benches and AEDs to be in close proximity.

After Peverley collapsed during a game in Dallas in March 2014, the NHL required the doctor on hand to be an active, trained specialist in emergency management. In the years since, there have been enhancements in cardiac life-support capabilities and additional provisions for CPR and cardiopulmonary rehearsals involving paramedics and arena staff."

I don't know anyone who died from it personally. I know OF people who've died from it.

I think that's where the hysteria starts - I know someone who knows someone......

In all honestly I thought I was responding to DANC initially, and still don't know exactly who you are. It's only after I went back and read the subsequent post from DANC (below), that I realized you weren't DANC. Not good on my part, but I certainly wouldn't take being mistaken for DANC as a compliment...

I'd say it's strange to see you refer to anyone else as a Nutbag or having nutbag beliefs, but I feel among the people on the board whose opinion's I give any value to, that's already a given...

Since I already said that I can't find the original article/video where Florida slipping into the bottom was mentioned, I conceded they may not be the absolute worst. And this Sept 22 ranking has them at 49th (ahead of only Oklahoma and Mississippi) on overall (non-covid) vax rates. Since that may not encompass the 10 yr drop reported on in Dec they may actually have caught those paragons of medical virtue (OK and MS)- man is that something to aspire to or what? No idea if this map will load or not...

Here's the article. Hooray for Florida... They're actually 47 in childhood, and 50 in adult/elderly for the 49 composite ranking.

Associations are beyond my capability this morning. I was up until 5 am. Feeling weak. I’m on month four of a six month instagram program to come back UNRECOGNIZABLE. Not sure when this transformation will occur. Fairly certain I’m still being recognized

You are truly dumber than dirt. I don't even know where to begin with your irresponsible and nonsensical post.

First, no medical professional suggested that the "only possible explanation" for Hamlin going into cardiac arrest is commotio cordis. Given the circumstances, including the blow to his chest, it's a likely explanation.

Next, defibrillation doesn't always work but it clearly worked in this instance or he'd be dead. The fact that he suffered a second episode of cardiac arrest doesn't disprove the efficacy of the initial use of the defibrillator.

Further, I don't know whether there have been other documented cases of commotio cordis in professional football but there have been a number in lacrosse, baseball (including Little League baseball) and professional hockey (look up Chris Pronger), where a player takes a shot to the chest from a ball or puck.

Thank God Hamlin is recovering and has neurological function. Do you?
The OP NEVER states or infers that a 'medical professional' comment
influenced my analysis of the conundrum facing the NFL.

Which points out that you are a liar.

The OP never makes any judgement AT ALL about the efficacy of defibrillators.

See sentence 2.

I have a lot more...which I will use to curb stomp your mischaracterization later.

I'm going to lunch and enjoy a couple local IPAs....

Oh wow. So you went to work when you might have had Covid? Hopefully you don’t work close to anyone with autoimmune issues. That’s shockingly irresponsible.

If you thought you might have had it and went to work around coworkers, you were being a jerk. I’m one that absolutely doesn’t care if you vaccinated yourself or not, but endangering others is different. Don’t do it.

Well we know you don’t have any friends. I know over 50 people. Not know of, know. The youngest was 36. I know you’ll think this is a lie, but that’s your choice. Only one died after vaccine was available.

You know 50 people that died from COVID? I can’t believe that. We have 100s of people at work and my division tracks every case. We’ve only had one person that died WITH COVID and his Doctor and son made a point of saying that he didn’t die FROM COVID. He had a long-standing physical condition which finally got him.

Of the many dozens of COVID cases we’ve tracked not a single case was more serious than a cold or flu. Same for my friends and family.

What's it to you?
Stop reading/responding to my posts.
Stick your head back in the sand.
It would be nice if you posted links to support your assertions. It’s not hard, and you obviously get your information from somewhere, even the information which is absurdly incorrect.

Living in a world full of incorrect information is a perfect example of the “sticking your head in the sand” expression.

He knows he's full of shit but likes to be coy about it. His post was a cherry picked response to my asking George to cite his sources for all his assertions, not just the one. I want to know where the 1 in 800 "events" comes from.

Yep I know. Keep in mind, I know a lot of people. Teaching for 25 years, house director for 7. Anderson made news for an assisted living place that got hit hard and early. I knew 4 people there. 2 were elderly but 2 were in their early 60’s there for rehab from surgery. Also had three sorority sisters, one of whom was the only one who passed away after the vaccine was available. Have a friend who was in hospital last week with it. He’s going to be fine. That’s obviously part of the reason I was so nervous and so careful to start. I know two people who were on vents who lived. The first one was only 48 with no cormobidities. He got it the end of March and was in a vent for 19 days. Probably the only reason he lived is that he was great friends with a nurse who looked after him nearly 24/7. I know it’s hard to believe .

Do you french kiss your friends or something? 50??? WTH?

Oh no, I don't think you're lying in this case. I don't doubt, with the lifestyle you lead, you know 50 who have had it.

LOL She's read of 50 people who died of it. Math isn't her strong point.

One minute you say no doubt next minute read of. I know, not know of. Know of would obviously be way more than that.

Like I said I knew you wouldn’t believe. You want a list and how I knew them? I actually kept one until I hit 50.
OK, let's say you're telling the truth. Why do you suppose you know so many more than anyone else here?

I explained that. Pay attention. I know a lot of people. Same reason I may have not lost anyone in my family because my family is small. Many of my girls came from big families and many from NYC. Most of them lost a family member. ( I didn’t count those by the way). It’s not a contest. It’s just a fact.

Oh, that's right. The rest of us don't know people.

You're just special, I guess.

Were you a teacher for 25 years with classes of 25? Were you a house director for 7 years with classes of 50? What is so difficult to understand? And I am indeed special. Thanks for noting.
