Of Montreal was probably the best show, performance and sound, I saw at the Bluebird.
So Sir Paul headlined Glastonbury back in 2004...
So a few years back at the Kennedy Center honors, Jon Stewart described Bruce as the "abandoned love child" of Bob Dylan and James Brown
I’ve always thought Wild, Innocent is one of the most underrated albums of all time, especially among us Springsteen fans.So a few years back at the Kennedy Center honors, Jon Stewart described Bruce as the "abandoned love child" of Bob Dylan and James Brown
And in reading comments about this performance I read one post claiming that Adam Duritz was the son of Springsteen and Van the Man. Now I'm not sure I'd go that far, but this is pretty good...
I read that NYC Serenade (off of Wild and Innocent) is one of the 10 songs that Duritz claims had the most influence on him, and he ranks Wild and Innocent as his overall favorite Springsteen album. He wrote Around Here prior to the creation of Counting Crows, and the lyrical influence of Bruce's Wild and Innocent period is pretty obvious...
OK I'm feeling adventurous- let's see who is thinking outside the box. I call these "Seinfeld" songs. Why is that?I’ve always thought Wild, Innocent is one of the most underrated albums of all time, especially among us Springsteen fans.
While Creeque Alley is the story of the Mamas and Papas, it's also to a lesser extent the story of the Lovin Spoonful...OK I'm feeling adventurous- let's see who is thinking outside the box. I call these "Seinfeld" songs. Why is that?
This is such an under appreciated gem...
Bruce actually wrote this in the 90s. But it fit on The Rising, and this fan made video with 9-11 footage provides a haunting symbiance with the lyrics...
From my high school years- my first real musical hero...While Creeque Alley is the story of the Mamas and Papas, it's also to a lesser extent the story of the Lovin Spoonful...
The Spoonful (and later Sebastian solo) had a number of hits- Summer In the City, Do You Believe in Magic, Nashville Cats etc... But for me the song I always find going thru my head and singing to myself from those days is this one... Classic Ed Sullivan appearance...
And a dazed and confused John Sebastian at Woodstock with a classic 60's moment...Eat your heart out "Nirvana baby"...
Did you see the 2023 US dates just released today yet? Tempted to take a road trip to FL, but I'm not sure about my health or how many shows I'm gonna want to see. Closest to me looks to be Columbus, and I've seen a few shows there in the past. So probably my initial choice...I’ve always thought Wild, Innocent is one of the most underrated albums of all time, especially among us Springsteen fans.
I sing this to my boys as a lullabyI don't want the good stuff thread to be all music, so I started this. Two simple rules:
1. Only music. The music can have political opinions, but you can't. Shut up.
2. One post per day. Don't post a playlist. Just post one song, and move on.
Here's how I'll start it:
I sing this to my boys as a lullaby
Yeah my friend just texted me and said that tickets for Columbus go on sale the 27th. We're going to get seats. Normally I only get GA and have to do the multiple computer/phone system to try and get thru. But seats is a little more complicated when you need a specific number...I haven’t seen the dates, but a friend in Phoenix texted me this morning that there are no shows in the Bay Area or Phoenix on the list. We fly to each other’s cities for the shows, and hoping they add something to the tour. I’ll go to LA as well.

Christian rock that doesn't suck...Christian Rock Emo Punk Band which should mean they suck horribly, they do ... but still a good arrangement of an old traditional ...
If you want good spiritual music, find an atheist ..
Repost...of yourself.
That's no atheist. Rock on.
True, I forgot that ..That's no atheist.
