Thanks for posting. Interesting read. The election could be reduced to law and order. https://amgreatness.com/2020/08/30/cultural-suicide-is-painless/
You need the votes that might just turn on feeling danger in their cities. The last law and order election gave us Nixon. If it’s about law and order, Trump stands no chance.

That is a painfully terrible essay. The election could be reduced to law and order. https://amgreatness.com/2020/08/30/cultural-suicide-is-painless/

That depends on how you define law and order. Some of us think Trump breaks the law on a daily basis: his minions think otherwise because he does it to serve their purpose. If it’s about law and order, Trump stands no chance.
Nixon wasn't the incumbent. Don't you see the fallacy in thinking that things are terrible, let's reelect the President? You need the votes that might just turn on feeling danger in their cities. The last law and order election gave us Nixon.
They could tighten it back up.
It’s already happening.T.rump strategy seems to have 3 steps:
1. Create chaos and discord.
2. Blame Biden for chaos and discord.
3. Watch his base lap it up.
That depends on how the voters perceive it.If it’s about law and order, Trump stands no chance.
I think the left on this board were predictably triggered by this article as if CO posted it. I also think that article embodies how many Americans feel (most that I talk to and work with by a wide margin) and that this election is going to be the icing on a very bad year. I think on the night of the election trump is going to be the projected winner and the mail ins will be a mess. It’ll then then take days to tally all those votes and Biden will be the winner in the end and a massive legal battle will ensue from the republicans. Trump will claim fraud. That’s my doomsday to a shitty year. That depends on how the voters perceive it.
My hunch is that 40% of the voting population think what Trump is doing is law & order. I also think that the number will increase, making the election much closer than it is today. I just hoe it won’t be too close.
If it’s about law and order, Trump stands no chance.
That’s both the irony and the reality of the message. Unfortunately many will say no its blm started this and dem mayors and govs allowed it to continue. They do nothing about crime....From what I see and hear, Trump’s America is a lawless distopia with cities burning to the ground, businesses destroyed and racial tension/violence in the streets. If only Trump were president he could fix everything.
This is a well thought out and reasonable post. Lol.That depends on how you define law and order. Some of us think Trump breaks the law on a daily basis: his minions think otherwise because he does it to serve their purpose.
We think killing a black man is against the law. Trump and his minions, including countless so-called Christians, think it is not because those peoples are not really Americans because their ancestors came from Africa, and killing non-Americans is not really against the law according to them.
Too bad Louis Carrol is not alive today; he could be writing a sequel.
And we already know polling is suspect to some degree with trump. Some of his voters refuse to participate in polls. Lie. Are afraid to admit they’re voting for him etc.Whatever he's doing it is again working. Emerson now has the race as a toss up. Trump's approval rating is also +2 at 49/47.

Right. What you post is actual logical thinking. But there is a weird paradox where people believe it’s the left who started and is responsible for the riots and the left states and cities who refuse to tamp it down. Trump will have three platforms:Trump has phucked up the pandemic response and the economy is in the crapper, so all he's got is the "law and order" theme. But as bawlmer and others have suggested, the law and order messaging worked for Nixon in '68 because he wasn't the incumbent. As we move past Labor Day and people start paying closer attention, they'll realize the absurdity of Trump's position. He's running ads depicting violence in the streets with a somber voiceover that this will be Biden's America when, in fact, the video clips are from this summer, in Trump's America. Logically, the message is essentially, "Vote for me and I'll save you from myself." And sorry Trumpers, but the "it's the Dems' fault" argument doesn't fly. Last I checked, Trump is president of the entire country, even Kenosha, which he's visiting today (solely for a photo op, of course, but you get the point).
Good guys vs bad guys. Real americans tired of the shit standing up for our country blah blah blahTrump will not condemn violence by people he sees as his supporters. He defended the kid who was playing army and killed two protesters in Kenosha. He defended the militia mob who travelled in pick up trucks to Portland to shoot protesters with paint guns and pepper spray. He doesn’t care about the violence. He cares about who is doing the violence and who is being hurt. If it’s “his people” he promotes it.

This is kinda the critical point. Bottom line, outside of something absolutely enormous happening between now and November, 45% of the country was going to vote for Biden and 45% was going to vote for Trump because it's the same party they have voted for since they turned 18. It's that remaining 10% of the voting population that are critical. Sadly, they are comprised of about 3 groups of people:but number 3 is the salient part: is it just his base or is he swaying undecideds

Thank you for responding to my post, Mr. Trump!Sorry, but what bull shit. As is blaming Trump because the left's useful idiots cannot behave themselves in Portland, Seattle, D.C., Chicago, etc. And spare me the race angle, most of the asshats in those cities have been white, leftist, dead enders. Trump did not have shit to do with George Floyd.
The lawlessness of the summer is a your party problem. It is happening because of dipshits who ascribe to the most extreme version of the party you support in areas that are exclusively ran by said party. Your and the Democrats attempts at gaslighting not withstanding.

Yep. And the events of this summer will make this a very tight race when it shouldn’t have been. Sadly, they are comprised of about 3 groups of people:
1) (70%) Those that don't really care and just pull a lever because they think it is their civic duty
2) (10%) Some true moderates that do analyze everything and make a decision based upon a few particular stances / ideologies
3) (20%) Those who truly haven't made up their mind yet.
While it is mostly deserved for all of the stupid / inflammatory / false things that Trump spews, I believe that is the reason why the CNN's and MSNBC's of the world have been anti-Trump 24/7 for the past 4 years. Influencing that first group, the ones who don't particularly care, is the target audience.
