I seem to remember that the Antonio Allen was deemed to be an isolated incident after a thorough investigation. Really?

Does anybody remember 9 players being suspended for a game? I am so disappointed and angry right now. I actually am indifferent about the win today.

Thank god SIU went for the 2-point conversion - which will undoubtedly be considered the bonehead play of college football today.

I am as disappointed today as I was when Wilson lost his first game at IU.

I agree. However, missing two of the best defensive players on the team probably hurt. Giving up 47 points, though, stinks. What do you think Ohio State and the rest of the BIG will do?

The outcome turned out exactly what Coach Wilson needed in this first game. If we had lost, and considering the suspended players....the media circus would be relentless. Now, Coach Wilson can use this "victory" to his advantage, demand more from defense and the entire team, and expect the suspended players to return to their expectation level. I don't think, however, that the defense will be top ranked, but they can improve (and they must if we are to be competitive).

Agree with the posters that CKW did what he had to to do for the long run betterment of the team. He gambled that he could take 9 players out of the rotation, most from a suspect defense, and still win. But he sent a message to the team there are no favorites. This team now has to step up led by the four main guys on defense who crapped on their team for whatever reason. CKW knows his job is in jeopardy but he set a standard that expectations mean something.

I don't think anybody questions suspending the players. A few years ago I posted early on that I thought Jim Tressel was going to be fired as soon as I heard that he knew about the tattoo deal and initially did nothing. It is not fair to the players to speculate on the suspensions. But it is also not fair to the fans to make the announcement a few minutes before game time - and then say nothing afterwards. Especially after the A.A. situation.

Actually, the bonehead play of the day was SIU getting caught with a substitution penalty on an extra point and missing the subsequent longer kick. With that missed point, they don't have to go for two for the win. They just have to kick it.
