Russia-Ukraine war has begun

Probably good news for American farmers, the price of wheat will have to go up.

Bad news for China. I suspect Chinese pressure is the only reason Russia has allowed it this long. I would like to blame Russia as evil, but it is pretty SoP to stop trade in a war.

Food and water….

NATO is not an offensive alliance.
They (many over there actually) wasn't talking anything about NATO, this would be an independent move due to the centuries long hatred. They were reporting that the ( A lot) Ukraine wheat go to Turkey not only for use but they ad value by producing flour. I guess they are the largest flour supplier to the world.
Anyway, I'm just reporting. I found their conversation interesting.

I'm just pointing out Turkey wouldn't be able to count on Article 5 for any losses it suffered in fighting in Ukraine and Russia.

You know, you may be right. Turkey may be seeing how the Russian military operates and decides it can run a Russian blockade on grain.

It could be interesting.

Not with NATO's participation.
I covered this above.

But if it were to happen, That would have to make everyone start to go HMMM, the longer this drags out. What about if because of this, Roozki's do a nuke strike? Maybe even a tactical "small" nuke?

FTR, It's not my theory, I am only reporting what I spent a few hours reading last night.

I personally would love to see it.
It seemed to be consensus that Turkey would wipe Rookies like gray with a biscuit. The theory was that they would start with escalated skirmishes in Syria and that would start the roll to cause Roosk to divide their attention. I'd enjoy seeing the next phase of Russia's total down fall, although who knows what it would turn into. yuck.

I don't want to see Turkey in Syria, because it would mean they'd probably use it as an excuse to fight the Kurds.

I'd rather see them take on the blockade - they'd have a lot more world sympathy if they did that.

The CME ‘cow guy’ (Scott Shellady) told Stuart Varney this morning that there was a glut of wheat, and after the threat to 10% of the supply, the wheat futures closed unchanged yesterday.

Since much of Ukraine’s wheat goes to China, Scott expects the embargo threat to be short lived.
Train cars exporting wheat from Ukraine go west not south to Turkey or through the Suez Canal to Asian ports.

Turkey's not west of Ukraine, is it?

Turkey's not west of Ukraine, is it?
Rail transport would go through Russian lines to the east.
Hence export shipments by rail only go west.
Turkey would surely prefer the sea lanes to the South.
But there is the de facto blockade on those.

Wow you guys make some answers harder than the questions.
I think you are saying that Turkey, which is south of UK, would prefer SHIPments via the black sea because they are south of UK. The rail shipments out of UK would only go west, which has nothing to do with UK and the Russia grain deal to start with.
Got Damn that was complicated.

Is anyone watching the footage of the war on Reddit or Youtube? What has been achieved with little $500 drones with a mortar wire tied to it is a total battle field game changer. You've got $500 drones and $? specific mortars, totally immobilizing Multi $mill Russian tanks and MLRS systems.
Wire ties and bailn' wire boys.
Russia eats another one, I predict. Loosing 500-600 troups a day. 5-15 tanks a day. Couldn't happen to a worse POS.

Putin’s attacks on grain storage and bulk loading facilities may galvanize international opposition, yet.
Ukraine’s African nation customers will struggle to replace Ukrainian exports.

and as i understand it, Iran is supplying Russia with drones.

if so, not grasping why the US doesn't just take out the Iranian drone factories with a couple missiles, and tell them they can go "F" themselves in the process.

As I understand it, yes Russia is using the “reaper” drone. I could be wrong with the name, it’s a white looking polymer wise wide wing, instead of multiple rotor wing type drones.
Seems to be quite lethal against the T50,60,70….. ish Russian designed thanks and the unprotected MLRS systems.
Yes again , I’d ran is in this, make them pay for that.
We’re in, Iran’s in, Russia’s in, Ukraine’s in, EU’s in……. Welcome to WW3 folks.

The counter offensive isn't going well if you are expecting any type of big breakthrough.

Interesting observations, but I think there's a larger picture they're missing. From what I've read, Ukraine is targeting behind-the-lines munitions and supply routes. Which makes sense if they are starting a larger offensive later.

Things always seem chaotic on the ground. If you go to any front-line unit, there's always going to be complaints about not getting enough support or coordination. I'm not saying that to disparage these units, but often - very often - they're not aware of the bigger picture.

Personally, I was hoping Ukraine would work in more concentrated fashion to break through a point and then isolate Russian units. Fighting along such a long front spreads out their resources too much, imo. Of course, a more concentrated attack would probably mean more casualties, but that's war. At some point, they are going to have to take major losses.

Overall, things aren't going as quickly as we'd liked, but I still think Ukraine is taking a more strategic approach. Maybe they're learning a few things about their own offensive capabilities and can apply those lessons later.

I'm seeing report of multiple Russian arms warehouses and installations kit with UAF Arial devices, well behind the lines down around a large radius around Oktiabrske (Crimea area). This, I would think, means there are intelligence actors on the ground supplying info. Love it.
Then also that UAF have made entry on the south side of Backmut. Sounds like Russia is running out of supplies and people up there.
I want to see Russia in flames in mass over this shit.
other videos and reports I am watching say that UAF are loosing 4-5 soldiers for every 100m of gain. But Russia is consistently loosing 500-600 per day. A number that is getting close to 250,000 to date.

Yeah, I think there are some strategic things going on that the Ukrainians are keeping quiet about.

I don't know about the 500-600 Russian casualties a day, although I did hear Russia is calling up another 300,000 - maybe to protect the Kremlin against internal troops. lol They shouldn't be losing that many playing defense, but who knows.
