Rona J Trump

When Trump recovers, will anyone who has been afraid to get it feel more confident about their own ability to fight it off? We're talking about a man living in the safest bubble in the US and he still got it. I get that fear has been made real by the way the pandemic news has been reported. Still, the tactic of avoidance seems futile to me. Getting a mild case would be ideal IMO, and the sooner the better.

"He's being evaluated by a team of experts, and together we'll be making recommendations to the President and First Lady in regards to next best steps," Navy Commander Dr. Sean Conley wrote.

He said Trump had been administered a Regeneron polyclonal antibody cocktail and has been taking zinc, vitamin D, famotidine, melatonin and a daily aspirin.

"The big news there is that he got an experimental drug. He got a drug not approved by the FDA," said Dr. Jonathan Reiner, who treated former VP Cheney. “So it's interesting that he got compassionate use of an experimental drug, which speaks to the level of concern they have.”

Not only is it an experimental drug, it's one where the trials so far indicate that it's most effective for patients with extreme viral loads, recent evidence has been that viral loads are correlated with the severity of symptoms.

32 days until the election. I truly hope Trump recovers from the virus well before November 3. It's too late to make a change of candidate and I don't think there is any way the election would be delayed. That takes an act of congress and the House would never approve. There are fairly clear provisions regarding the process in case a nominee dies before the election or between the election and when congress certifies the election, but I'm certain it would be taken up by the courts. It would be the sh!t show of all-time. I don't wish that on our country.

How do you guarantee a mild version. How long does the mild version protect you? Do I get to spend three free days in the hospital with the mild version and get access to a trial drug?

I wonder what Hillz' health insurance policy is like? Three days in the hospital with experimental drugs will pass most insurance deductibles quickly. So you survive with some kind of immunity and a large medical bill. Hallelujah.

It doesn't take much imagination.

“Joe Biden has the China virus? Jeez, that’s too bad. Low energy Joe might have a tough time with it. I guess he shouldn't have left his basement after all” -Trump would say, with a wide grin.

Remember this heart-tugging concern that really happened?: “Mitt Romney is quarantining? Jeez, that’s too bad” -said Trump, with a wide grin.

They never miss a beat...

something about leopards and spots...

Biden shouldn't suspend his ad campaign then.

The "safest bubble in the US"? Seriously?

He may live there but he doesn't stay there.

Use your noggin and do what you can do. Take your vitamins C&D and get some sun. Eat well and wash your hands. Or stay indoors and keep to yourself. You could get it any way. If it's guarantees you want, I can't give you any.

Biden also pulled all of his negative ads and will be running hopeful ones with no mention of Trump.

It's the right thing to do but I also think it's a good, political move.

They are keenly aware that this could upset the sympathy that Trump's case is going to generate while also playing on the exhaustion of the turmoil and offering calm.

He's outside and well past socially-distanced. Everyone he's in close contact with gets screened often. Can you say the same for your self?

Biden called him a racist and a clown 3 days ago. Let's not act like he's some model of decorum. But one of the reasons I can't vote for him again is his lack of 'humanity', which is to say that I agree with you, that were the roles reversed, I would not expect Trump to extend any such grace.

Biden sounded good today in his 15-20 minute speech. Sharp and alert.

Trump looked pissed and uncomfortable walking to the helicopter a few minutes ago.

Hard to see how Trump can effectively criticize Biden's health after today.
Now that you mention it, I just saw on TV, Trump climbing the stairs and walking, he looked 10 years older than Biden. And looked sleepier than Biden too.

Obviously, my way is safer than Trump's way. I'm drinking beer in my living room. Trump's in the hospital bitching at all the medical staff.

"Everyone he's in close contact with gets screened often," you wrote. Obviously, that's either not true or not effective. Many people that work in the White House have already tested positive even prior to the last couple of days.

Maybe he’ll end up incapacitated and we’ll get a replacement candidate. House would have to agree to push the election. Doubtful. And what about the millions who already voted. Hmmm. Way ahead of myself, but...it is the year of bizarre shit

Do you want to hear the truth?
Biden called him a racist and a clown because Trump is a racist clown. Is there another way of calling a racist clown?

That's part of my larger point, which is that avoidance is futile. The truth is that it's most likely to pass without serious harm, even for high-risk patients. Getting it isn't a death sentence. There are things even we dumb schmucks can do to increase our odds. Do those.

While I don’t disagree with the intent of your post, he’s not living in the safest bubble. He rarely wears masks and is around people that go to and fro in their personal lives and breathe all over him. His leadership during this has been abjectly awful - even his most sycophanty sycophants should understand this.

People who wear masks also get Covid. His contacts are scrutinized much more vigorously than yours or mine. Biden's basement is probably safer, but does a sitting POTUS have that luxury? He has not led well, but otoh, all the "aha MASK!" posts are kind of silly.

The problem is that a "mild case" depends on where the virus decides to attack. This kid from Appalacian State had a mild case until it decided to attack his nervous system and suddenly became very serious...

" Chad lived off-campus in Boone and all of his classes were online. When he began feeling unwell earlier this month, his mother encouraged him to come home, quarantine, and be tested for COVID-19.

After testing positive for COVID-19 in his home county, he followed isolation procedures and was cleared by his doctor to return to Boone. It was after his return to Boone that he had additional complications, was picked up by his family and hospitalized. His family's wishes are for the university to share a common call to action so our entire campus community recognizes the importance of following COVID-19 safety protocols and guidelines."

He went from having a "mild case" to waking up one day and being unable to use his legs. I read that his Uncle had to pick him up and carry him to the car so that they could take him to the Hospital...

LOL! But he IS a racist and a clown! Can you honestly prove that he’s not?

I’ve taken more precautions than Trump has. But not really feel better if he just has a mild case. It just impacts everyone so differently.

Man, you’re still struggling with this. I want to talk chit, but I just kind of feel sorry for you at this point. I hope it doesn’t take a death in your circle to stop pushing nonsense.

Dying from Covid 19 is only part of the story. Furthermore it is a story with downsides which will only can be understood with the passages of time.

Downsides which we already know include the economic consequences. Consequences that hurt the most vulnerable of our population. The most vulnerable being folks who live from paycheck to paycheck and those in service industries such as bars and restaurants.

The downsides which only time will tell are the short and long term affects of those who contracted the virus but didn't get very sick. The herd mentality folks look at this as building immunity. However we really don't know if it builds immunity or creates long term health problems.

Bottom line, we have a lot to learn about this particular virus.

Boris Johnson had all but recovered then wound up in the ICU. I think I would not let my guard down. I am also not afraid of it.

A friend of mine, mid-40's with 3 young boys, who I trade music with sometimes, got divorced last year. He talked and posted for 6 months about how sucky life is. This year, all I heard was how sucky the 'rona lockdowns are and unfair it all is.

Two weeks ago his arm went numb so he went to the ER to get checked for a stroke. Monday he posts that he has glioblastoma and doesnt know how to tell his kids.

Tick-tock tick-tock.... Everyday is precious. I won't let fear of Covid ruin the time I got left. I do what I can do and the rest is not my business.

That's a really tragic story. But I'm not sure how it relates to the post I made, which was a rebuttal to your idea to intentionally get a "mild case"...

The 'racist' tag has been lobbed at every GOP candidate in my memory since at least Nixon. I hear it and it tells me Dems aren't confident in their candidate or party's policies.

Trump is a terrible pol and he hasn't handled the race thing well, but I doubt he's truly racist. It's like with the Russia/Putin crap... I never bought that either.

I supported every single GOP candidate from Reagan to Romney. Campaigned for some of them. Trump is a legit dyed-in-the-wool racist. Take it from people who worked for him. It just is what it is.

Notre Dame students have a petition to fire their President. The students are required to wear masks on campus and at official events. He was a Notre Dame representative at an event and was not wearing a mask.

They have a point.

Hope Hicks is very upset according to Vanity Fair:

Meanwhile, Hicks has experienced more pronounced symptoms than the president. Two sources said she has had a high fever and a cough, with one source adding she lost her sense of smell. Hicks is said to be frustrated with Trump for taking such a cavalier approach to the virus. She was one of the few West Wing staffers to wear a mask in meetings, which her colleagues chided her for. “She was made fun of because she wore a mask,” a friend said. Sources told me Hicks is also upset that news coverage has made it appear that she gave Trump the virus, when in fact no one knows where he got it. “It’s so unfair she’s sort of being blamed,” the friend told me.

Hicks did not respond to a request for comment.
