Purdue is in the Final Four!

As a supposed attorney, I would have thought you were taught to get the facts straight. I realize that you do not like it but Purdue was awarded a national championship, in the same manner as UNC and Kansas. They recognize it even though you do not. I do not understand why Purdue cannot but they can, other than pique on your part.

But then again, you did assure everyone here that Purdue would never advance past the S16 under Painter and we know how accurate that statement turned out to be.

The fact that things were different then does not alter their legitimacy which as an attorney you should know.
Listen, you're Arcb. Everybody who has been here a while knows you and what you do -- that means you have to try harder if you want to be persuasive. In this post, you didn't try at all.

If your post is crowing about the Helms Trophy, feel free to crow all you want but please acknowledge a few things.

Purdue's trophy was awarded for the 1931-32 season, a year when Purdue won the Big Ten and also the year that Wooden was named Player of the year by the same Helms "Foundation" (which wasn't really a foundation at all -- it was affiliated with the Helms Bakery in Los Angeles).

See these:

The so-called "Helms Athletic Foundation" was not a foundation of any kind and only one guy (Bill Schroeder, a founder of the Helms bakery) made the selection for national championships, including Purdue's. "Schroeder selected the foundation's national champion teams and made All-America team selections in a number of college sports including football and basketball."

I have seen old movies of John Wooden playing at Purdue, and it looked like Wooden was one of the very few players in college basketball in 1932 who looked even remotely like a modern player when he dribbled the ball or jumped off his left leg to shoot a purely-right-handed layup. The other players at the time apparently played more like the guys in that GEICO "pass the ball" commercial.

You also claimed it was a fact that Painter wouldn't get past the Sweet 16 and look how that turned out for you. If in fact Painter sucks at recruiting and Purdue sucks, what does that say about IU? Would a casual observer actually prefer Archie over Painter? Doubtful
I was way off, lol. Painter is 1/15 in making it past the Sweet 16. It is a fact that PU hasn't been past the Elite 8 since 1980.

Archie has been at IU a whole 2 years, and Painter has been at PU for 15: I'd say there is much more to judge Painter on at PU than Archie at IU at this point. Painter would have been fired years ago at IU.

It’s just funny how adamant you were that he wouldn’t get past the S16 and once he does, you simply change the goalposts. Hey maybe Archie will be a decent coach but seeing Painter take a team like the one he had this year to the Elite 8 shows me he is the right guy for this program. Doesn’t matter if he would’ve been fired years ago at IU. You guys keep searching for the next Bob Knight and keep coming up empty. How long will Archie’s leash be?

Several of these posters like Jimbo, Jimmy and Courtsense are Uber obsessed with everything Purdue. It’s all they talk about and they’re consumed by Purdue. Jimbo even claims he’s a lawyer even though he can’t even spell or construct a sentence. It’s all Purdue, all the time. Obsessed.

I will only respond for myself here, but given how you sad clowns cling to my every word and run sobbing back to GBI with it...you should know that I hav never obsessed about PU in the least. I rarely post about PU...what I have always done is RESPOND to you idiots holding a mirror up to your hypocritical obsession.

I am quite consistent...post logically and you get that back. Post like an idiot and you get embarrassed.

You are consistent . . . consistently obsessed with Purdue. It’s all you post about. Wouldn’t be surprised if you’re a Purdue fan at heart since it’s all you ever thing about.

The Helms, lol. Northwestern has a more recent bakery championship than PU. UNC and Kansas have won real championships.

Isn't it true that PU has never won an NCAA championship or been past the Elite 8 since 1980? Isn't it true that Matt Painter struggles to recruit big names?
It is true, but IU recognizes 5 National Championships while 2 were second tier championships when played.

Bud, you are making the same mistake as your colleague, Jimbo, with the use of the "never." You are also in error on another thing: I am not really concerned about the Helm's title. It is a fact that it exists. The fact that it exists means logically that the claim of not having one is simply false. I prefer accuracy in statements.

You may/may not recall that Sean Connery said he would not make another Bond film. Later he did; the title: "Never Say Never." The future is unknown to us all so Black Swan events can happen and others more probable than that do occur.

I do find it ironic that within an hour of your post claiming that Purdue has no national visibility being put up Painter was awarded the NABC CoY by his professional colleagues. But I am sure that you know much more about his skills than they do. (dws.) It's just that the pesky data keeps getting in the way of your opinion.
I've got a non attorney lecturing me about law school, actually being an attorney, and logic: that's just silly and ignorant. I'm going to go find a musician or doctor and lecture them about their professions, lol. You do understand that IU has law schools and people graduate from them from time to time?

Fact: Mike Davis and Tom Crean have been to Final Fours, and Gene and Matt never have and never will. PU's last Final Four was 1980: fact. Matt Painter sucks at recruiting: fact. Purdue sucks: fact!

I can't believe how much I am in your head and under your skin, lol.
Obviously, what you spew is opinion on Painter. A fact would be that even some lawyers finish last in their class and are clueless. I don’t really care where you finished in your class nor weather you are a success at your job, but I do know that you are a homer incapable of looking at anything Purdue related objectively.
