Oh well. Maybe we have a guy who isn’t just panderingI know some really pissed off Trrump voters in DoD.

Remember we can’t take everything President Trump says seriously. Cutting defense spending in half is one of those things. The odds of that are 1 in a trillion and that’s generous. It’s our money. None of it is meaningless. Trump just said his goal is to cut defense in half. Social security is doable.
Healthcare I’m less optimistic. I don’t know how or what that looks like. There are so many hands in that jar
If self-described limited government conservatives can’t stomach temporary decreases (interruptions…whatever is the correct term) in federal employment how in the hell will they handle an actual decrease in the size of the federal workforce?Oh well. Maybe we have a guy who isn’t just pandering
There’s a right way to do it, and this ain’t it.If self-described limited government conservatives can’t stomach temporary decreases (interruptions…whatever is the correct term) in federal employment how in the hell will they handle an actual decrease in the size of the federal workforce?
Bullshit. As crazed said how many chances has there been. We finally have bold actionsThere’s a right way to do it, and this ain’t it.
I think we really need to be honest with ourselves…we want to continue to bitch about it but we don’t want any of our buddies to be adversely affected (lose their jobs)There’s a right way to do it, and this ain’t it.
You’re just emoting. It’s Musk. We’ve told you. No whatever token person apptd otherwise Is of little moment. Musk is leading the charge. Youve been told this. It’s not a secret.
It’s 35 trillion in debt. The last president had mushy peas for a brain and couldn’t speak to the public. And now you’re worried what is going on with the fed gov?
These people getting shitcanned will find other good gigs. They aren’t derelicts unemployable.I think we really need to be honest with ourselves…we want to continue to bitch about it but we don’t want any of our buddies to be adversely affected (lose their jobs)
It says in the first paragraph he’s leading the cause. Are we just so worried about titles that we’re going to paralyze ourselves? And we wonder why gov is inefficientHe's not according to people in the white house.
If I was operating from the premise that every government job is unnecessary and every government worker is worthless, I’d agree with you. That premise is bullshit.Bullshit. As crazed said how many chances has there been. We finally have bold actions

I’m seeing good DoD organizations with important missions being adversely impacted. I expect there will be some embarrassing mission failures within government fairly soon.I think we really need to be honest with ourselves…we want to continue to bitch about it but we don’t want any of our buddies to be adversely affected (lose their jobs)
There already have been. Afghanistan etcI’m seeing good DoD organizations with important missions being adversely impacted. I expect there will be some embarrassing mission failures within government fairly soon.
He’s an SGE. And trump told you he’s leading the charge. If he's leading the charge... cool. Name him then. Why the secrecy behind who is leading the agency responsible for all the cuts is all anyone is asking, which shouldn't be such a big deal.
Transparency and all....
Not relevant to what’s going on, but it was seriously FUBAR’d.There already have been. Afghanistan etc
Yeah…a guy I went to school with was complaining on social media (according to my boss) about losing his job as a probationary employee. Guess what he is….a damn physician. These people getting shitcanned will find other good gigs. They aren’t derelicts unemployable.
I am completely comfortable in my uncomfortableness with all of this even though I agree with some of the things being cut.

Hiring freeze and firing probationary employees is having a big negative impact - that was across the board. They originally thought they were exempt because what they do impacts national security. It's also not only at the lowest levels. It's impacting GS13s, 14s, and 15s too. Plus, the administration is asking for so much information that answering that is taking all of their time. These are very hard-working people. Most of them former military. They believe in their mission because it's important. They're not happy in the least. They're working hard to keep the train on the tracks, but it's unsustainable. Expect some mission failures that will be very embarrassing for the administration.Such as?
They've only been looking at the DOD for what..., 2 or 3 days?
If the mission package is so fragile that losing a couple of first year probationary civilian employees will wreck it then I'd have to suggest that someone didn't do a very good job of setting it up...
Cross-training redundancy is usually the key for most successful mission structures... If it wasn't set it up well enough to survive a little reduction in force (at the lowest levels) then the mission either isn't really that important or the leadership is severely lacking... (or perhaps both)...

How long have you been retired from the military?I’m seeing good DoD organizations with important missions being adversely impacted. I expect there will be some embarrassing mission failures within government fairly soon.
What is he doing signing EOs in FLA? I thought all feds were no longer going to be able to work from Home.
Trump issues EO expanding IVF treatment, seeking to bring down costs of same.
2012, but I worked with DoD and DoS (less) leaders in my civilian job too. I only retired from that job in August. I keep in touch with many still working. How long have you been retired from the military?

Rumor is that DoD probationary employees are going to be fired at the end of the week. To give an idea of how ham fisted this has been, they still had Defense jobs that were hiring after most other areas were told to freeze. So now people that were hired in the last month would be on the chopping block to be let go.Hiring freeze and firing probationary employees is having a big negative impact - that was across the board. Yep. When promoted, they start the higher level job on probation too. This is a real cluster ****.Rumor is that DoD probationary employees are going to be fired at the end of the week. ETA: And as Twenty pointed out above, so would some of the best employees who had the "misfortune" of doing such terrible things as being good enough at their job to get promoted.

I was reading a book last night and they estimated the costs of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars will end up costing 13 trillion dollars. Once you calculate interest and the ongoing costs of all the soldiers who served in the wars. It’s insane. There already have been. Afghanistan etc
You surely realize that what you posted includes Trump, 2016-20. Trump had control of Congress for at least two year of his first term.Yeah, while I get the complaints about what’s going on — and some of them have more merit than others — it’s useful to remember that everybody from Congress to multiple presidents to the managers of the administrative state have had plenty of open opportunity to clean up the messes themselves.
That they’ve been derelict in this makes most of their complaints fall pretty flat to me.
And we got run out of the country by a bunch of goat herders. smdhI was reading a book last night and they estimated the costs of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars will end up costing 13 trillion dollars. Of course I realize that. Don’t mistake me for a hardcore partisan. You surely realize that what you posted includes Trump, 2016-20. Trump had control of Congress for at least two year of his first term.
And that doesn't even begin to assess the human death toll in the Middle East caused by those wars.I was reading a book last night and they estimated the costs of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars will end up costing 13 trillion dollars. Not to be a dick, but I wonder how many people cheering people getting fired because of the deficit collect a Social Security check and don't see the irony....And 90% of all Trump voters were gung ho for the the Iraq war 20 years ago. And now they all wash their hands while collecting SS checks.
They sure weren't marching with Code Pink... If anyone still remembers that.
