I guess this is as good a place as any to post this. This is a pretty cool Twitter account that tweets the weirdest high school baseball fields in each state.

This one in Ohio is pretty bizarre. A green monster in left field (the school building itself), an open pit 8 feet deep in left center that's a dead ball, and a glass greenhouse in deep center.

We played our high school games with a pitcher’s mound in the middle of the field. One of our rivals, ranked number one in the country, was surrounded by a gravel track and you had to take corners off the gravel then step up onto the grass

I remember swimming in a basement pool built in the 1920s that was 23 1/3 yards long. They had a line on the bottom of the pool designating 100 yards - 4 lengths plus about 6 yards. Timers stood on side of pool and stopped their watch when your hand hit the line. Pool records for relays included fractions.

Wouldn’t a black and white poster pic of that be cool on your office wall. I love that stuff

Pro baseball would be better if it went back to lots of bizarre park dimensions. I love those at old fields. One of the unique factors in baseball that makes it fascinating.
