NOVEMBER PREDICTIONS - Put em Right Here

I think Wokeism is a puritanical drive, so I'd say both.
This is very much the horseshoe where the extremes are very closely linked. The woke progressives want to push how awful things are via inequality and male white supremacy. The MAGA far right want to push how awful things are because the country is a dirty, dangerous shithole. Different paths but both lead to the same place - everything is awful here.

Both are terrible messages and simply plain wrong. I will say Harris’ tone has been much more hopeful and optimistic. Trump’s is the same doom and gloom he’s been peddling for years now.

To the original questions:

I can't bring myself to believe the American people will chose to put Trump in power again. I want to be proud to be an American. Will we as a people do the right thing? We did four years ago, we will today.

IDGAFF

IU will finish 11-1, won't make the B1G championship, and might squeak into the playoffs if the stars align. It will take a lot to overcome our historical reputation and be the 4th B1G team in the field though. Then again, the Cig/Cinderella story line might be tempting for the networks and the people doing the choosing.

turnout is lower than 2020 with younger voters and minority voters lagging in most states…+1R electorate

Yeah I expect turnout to be lower than 2020... But that was an extreme year.

If I were Trump my concern would be white voters, particularly white women. These two late polls from Iowa and NH have pretty crazy results. They could just be trash polls or they could be a signal of white voters peeling away from Trump.

I'm hoping for a bunch finally saying "Fvck it, I just can't" and pulling Harris, or at least scratching on the top line.

I am going to be charitable to wokeism for once. I think both woke progressives and MAGA are expressing their frustrations towards a system that isn't working for them. There are obviously grifters taking advantage of them, but both groups are pissed off. Neither is going away, in my opinion, because the underlining issues aren't going to get fixed through larger government and more spending.

Both will continue because there is no fix to how someone feels. They feel that everything is shit and there’s nothing anyone can do to change that.

That explanation doesn't work for the mass of woke progressives who are (1) wealthy urban or suburban professionals and (2) college students who are actually at a place that costs more than most Americans can afford and have really never had to handle adversity in their lives.

Listen to the language they use. Focus on the axioms that must be accepted and cannot be debated. Pay attention to how they must turn harshly on those within their circles who dissent.

It's the language and attitude of a puritanical religion. And ironically for most of them, it probably fits squarely within the Christian tradition of such movements.

Oh .. You think that's gonna stop them? This is a group of people that came up with a fake slate of electors.
I don't think it's going to stop frivolous lawsuits. I'm saying there is zero chance the SCt buys it.

Shapiro is way off base there to even hint that it is a possibility.

I agree the SCT isn't going to buy into that. Doesn't mean there won't be another 2+months of craziness. They'll need something to grasp onto in this scenario and this seems like a likely vessel.

Absolutely there will be 2 months of craziness. Not sure if this is the vessel, though. This seems sanctionable.

I think you're being a little dismissive. There are plenty of indicators showing declines in America. Depression is up, anti-depressants usage up, the amount of hardcore prescriptions prescribed to children is frightening, life expectancy is decreasing, obesity is out of control, ODs are now over 100k (they were around 10k 20 years ago), and birth rates have plummeted.

I imagine that turnout will be the key, and my impression from those in my sphere is that the anti-Trump contingent is far more motivated than the anti-Harris contingent. The former will show up. The latter may not. Trump can't win with his core supporters alone. He needs those who may not like him but might pinch their nose and pull his lever. I don't see much enthusiasm among those types.

I think Harris wins this more easily than most think.

Last time I am charitable to progressives;) I include the leaders and wealthy as part of the grifters. I am probably being to inclusive with what I consider woke. I include the teachings of all the "isms" as well.
