NOVEMBER PREDICTIONS - Put em Right Here

This is going to be an incredibly fun month as we've got first and foremost, the fight of the century, as well as an election with OUR VERY DEMOCRACY AT STAKE, and finally a shocking opportunity for the hoosiers to be in the playoffs. i'll start now and let's see you people be accountable and put your predictions in cement. no told ya so monday morning qb bs.

The election - we won't know that night but will start out super pumped for a trump clear victory but in the end harris will squeak this one out. Harris is the next president.

The fight of the century - THE GOAT, AKA THE PROBLEM CHILD, second or third round victory over a legend. tyson throws in the towel. punching that bag and working out is fun. at almost 60 he won't be able to take THE PROBLEM CHILD'S heavy hands hitting him in the head. getting hit won't be good at tyson's age. and people underestimate the power of THE PROBLEM CHILD. he carries the weight of gen z in his heavy hands. the bullying. the angst. all of it. THE PROBLEM CHILD with a relatively easy victory

Our Hoosiers. 10-2. Miss out on the playoffs but secure a fun warm weather bowl in a magical first season. More than anyone could have hoped for.

I’ll do Turducken. My brother in law will do a fried Turkey. My sister will do stuffing. My other sister will buy deserts because she’s useless in the kitchen, but it’ll be at her house. My wife will do the sweet potatoes. The youngers will do green beans, deviled eggs, mashed potatoes, etc. I will do the gravy because I make great turkey gravy. 😎

I smoke some salmon and trout for appetizers

They’re never going to win the support of gun guys by advocating for a ban on “assault weapons.” And telling them you’re a gun owner doesn’t help.

That’s like telling an abortion rights activist “Vote for me. I only want to ban abortion after 12 weeks. My daughter had an abortion at 10 weeks.”
No they won't. And they are pretend gun owners. Nothing more than a paperweight to them.

I predict President Harris will pardon trump for most of his worst crimes that would have put him in jail for a long time. He’ll serve some light time in a comfortable jail, and that’s it.

Final prediction:

Harris wins popular vote by more than 3 percent.

Harris wins EC by more than 50, but there will be some close wins in battleground states.

Trump throws a fit and doesn’t concede. Will claim voter fraud.

Dbm will cry actual tears and disappear from the board for days.

Minions will believe claims of voter fraud despite total lack of evidence.

Harris is certified winner while a MAGA protest occurs outside. Proceedings will be protected by Capitol Police and National Guard.

Trump does not attend inauguration - again.

Trump’s two federal trials will proceed and Trump is found guilty in both. Harris will commute any sentence involving prison time but won’t pardon him.

IU football finishes 11-1 and wins a game in CFP. Will be 3rd B1G team in after OSU and Oregon.

Reds win at least 90 games next season.

Libs and Progs on WC don’t like my criticism of policies proposed by Harris and/or Democrats in Congress.

We all do fine individually the next four years.

You really are fvcking nuts and delusional.

No way the Reds win at least 90 games. They need to be able to hit the ball and catch the ball. Francona won’t be able to work any magic until Castellini is willing to shell out for both.

I think they’ll get serious next year. You don’t hire Francona if that isn’t the plan. They have some very good young talent and won 80 two years ago. They need the young talent to stay healthy and add two or three strong veterans and they’ll have a winning season. I sure hope so.

What outcome and what aim would Harris be seeking by a decision to commute any sentence?

Political unity/ preventing a revolt. Presidents have a duty to ensure "domestic tranquility."

It was one of the reasons cited by Ford for pardoning Nixon, so there is precedent there.

I'm not advocating one way or the other. Just curious.

I think there would be meaningful blowback if there were a decision to commute, especially considering that Trump rejects accountability and is unlikely to simply recede from the scene (as Nixon basically did). A decision to commute also holds the potential to undermine the government's ability and credibility to uphold the law. Even where the government is flawed, our system relies on an aspirational pursuit of sound governance. Rejection of governance outright is on the table and supporters of the system we have will want to move forward on the basis of those ideals. Compromising would be viewed as acquiescence to lawlessness and a sense that the powerless are subject to a different form of justice.

Also, it's not like the pardoning of Nixon is universally accepted as the right call. (And again, I'm not advocating either direction on that).

I'm not either. All the concerns you raise apply to the Nixon pardon and many think Ford lost to Carter because of it.

Re Trump, if you're going to do that as Harris, you'd be wise to try to get Trump to agree to fade from the scene ala Nixon in exchange for the commutation.

Coincidentally, I suggested that in a letter to the editor of the WSJ during Trump's first impeachment and it was published!

There are two conflicting problems. I agree with your earlier comment on domestic tranquility.

On the other hand, we really need to know if president's are allowed to empty out the NSA vault on the way out.

So IF Harris wins, I see a reason to pardon and a reason not to. Congress could solve this by passing a new law, but they won't because it will be seen as admitting Trump did wrong.
