You mean like Lacledes Landing? 😆
Make fun ahole. It's a crime that laclede's landing isn't awesome. The bricks. The river. It should be our great destination spot. Our river walk

Q ruined it. I was just at Straubs grabbing donuts. Q everywhere. Plotting. Watching 16 Chan. They ruin everything. And they are just everywhere.

Catching up on Better Call Saul. One episode behind. Gilligan really nails blending cinematography with story in this format. It makes me almost nostalgic for the aughts.

Hot take: it may equal Breaking Bad.

Read a Grisham book if you want an example of quick, “Oh, I’ve got to end this thing now and I don’t care as I just want the check,“ unsatisfactory endings.
I loved Grisham when he started. I gave up on him about a decade ago. Although I did listen to the basketball one. It felt like someone else was writing his books.

It's genius. Brilliant. Fantastic. My one observation, perhaps for lack of a better word. They almost run like two completely separate stories/shows. The law stuff and the drug stuff. Sometimes I wonder why the law stuff isn't just it's own show

I sure as hell want to know what happens to Kim.

The only character in TV history more scarily evil than Homelander: Wendy Byrd. I’m now on S4 E7 and continue to hope she gets what’s coming to her.
It’s slackers like you who prevent the rest of us from a more thorough discussion of the ending.

This is going on your performance review. A Kangaroo Court fine is not good enough in this situation.

Report back.

I did forget to put The Boys in the guilty pleasure thread but boy is it ever.
Ok, I just finished Ozark. Good show. I wouldn't put in my top 5.

Minor spoilers ahead if you have not finished:

I thought Season 3 was the most suspenseful and interesting. But the realism of the writing and situations went continuously downhill from Season 1. By Season 4, absolutely preposterous things were going on. I plowed through those just to finish. They really changed shows for the kids between Season 1-2 and 3-4. The kids motivations, personalities, etc. changed too much.

The nihilistic ending was consistent with the underlying theme of the rest of the show. (I liked that Marty smiled at the end.) But Jonah's actions conflicted with his entire attitude in Season 4, I thought. Or did it? In general, I thought the show did a good job exemplifying how much can be hidden behind the mask of upper-class speech, politeness, and mannerisms.

One of my favorite unintentionally funny things in the show that is just so Hollywood: the ONE thing Wendy Byrde couldn't abide, that was just too evil for her to go through with, was voter suppression. Forget the murders, ruining people's lives with heroin and meth, what she did to her own brother, etc. Those she does without blinking an eye. But Republican voter suppression? THAT'S truly evil and where she draws the line.

This last season equals Breaking Bad's best for suspense and direction. His visuals and cinematography and angles of the camera this season are just fantastic.

Jimmy McGill is the epitome of one of those people who will put in 2x the effort and risk to do the shady thing as opposed to just, you know, the boring, normal job.

I heard this somewhere from someone I can't remember but there's a difference between a criminal defense attorney and a defense attorney for criminals. He's obviously the latter.

To be honest, the storyline of this show is doing the right thing by focusing equally on Kim. Best character on TV in some time for me.

Correct.

My memory is horrible. But his new office, not the lobby, I think Is where the Breaking bad crew visited with him on breaking bad. So you can tell the timing is close to overlapping

She was just an awful, unredeemable person. And she did it all with a twinkle in her eye and smile on her face. Casting Laura Linney was brilliant.

As to the writing, I wonder if COVID played a part in possibly shortening the overall length of the series? Agree the story got real messy after the first couple of season. To be fair, the whole idea of a family running a enormous heroin operation in southern Missouri without running afoul of law enforcement just doesn't scan for me. Sure, Breaking Bad did something similar but the arc of BB was short (18 months or so total) and he was constantly trying to stay one step ahead of the law and the cartels. I can't imagine Darlene having anywhere near that patience and discipline for nearly that long. Way too impulsive.

Oh can’t wait. I thought Craig had a girlfriend finally? When does new season start?

So do any of your significant others make you watch This is Us? Doesn’t seem like most of your type of show and it’s the only regular network show I’ve watched in awhile. One more episode, but last night was the penultimate. They are dealing nailing wrapping it up. Tears. Lots of tears.

Was in Zionsville today and couldn’t stop looking at blonde people wondering if they were related to creepy Dr.
Lincoln Lawyer on Netflix is pretty good, only two episodes in . Read the Michael Connelly book long ago, but don’t remember much yet.

I thought this program on Duke Kahanamoku was interesting. He was a world record holding swimmer, practically invented the sport of surfing and revolutionized life guarding.
