Justice Prostaciewicz received 55% of the vote statewide knew that she was in favor of correcting Wisconsin's electoral maps to reflect the actal voting breakdown. I doubt if a single one of those Legislators threatening to "impeach" her could come close to a 55% vote total if they had to run in a statewide race.
And yet they brazenly attempt to just disregard the will of the people and do so with impunity because their seats are "safe". It's a naked power grab and attack on democracy by people who know that fair maps mean they are no longer in control. And it's these same attacks on democracy that ensure the GOP won't have to worry about getting a new Speaker following the 2024 election because there is no way the current electorate will return these clown to power...
