If the GOP nominates/elects Jordan as Speaker, what happens when the lawsuit of the former OSU wrestlers vs OSU goes to trial?
Can you imagine the effect of having the "Speaker" repeatedly being asked to comment on testimony like this?

Whatever Frankenstein conglomeration that currently makes up the GOP House Majority is many things, but definitely not a coalition that's interested in governing. Much better designed to be a minority party that can just vote no all the time.

Jordan got fewer Republican votes than Scalise. No way he'd reach the necessary 217.
You mentioned Kennedy and that triggered an idea. Do you know who would be great but is unavailable? John-John. Guy is charismatic, good-looking and still young-enough at 62. But he's exceptionally busy working behind the scenes with Trump to save the world from the evil Dem cabal. He used to be a Dem himself but I guess he's flipped.

I'm gonna tell you what's very possibly coming from all of this. A deal cut with Dems to put a very moderate GOP Speaker in place, along with concessions on committee assignments and the like. I think the majority of the GOP conference has had it with the 6-15 jackwads on the far right flank and are ready to toss them off the boat.
Frankly Biden should propose an Israel aid package. If the Senate acted, that would put huge pressure on the House not to be MIA.
I heard an explanation about Mace changing that helps explain the problem, her district changed and is now safe. So she changed. Safe districts are a scourge upon humanity. Look at the people who voted to remove, all safe.
Mace is a disgrace, but yes she's just playing to her new district (which is probably going to be overturned by the SC).
Extreme gerrymandering has destroyed The House (and the total functioning of our govt, at this point) more than any other scourge.
And to be clear to our further right friends, I am not happy with safe left either. But yes, the ability to data gerrymander makes it more dangerous than ever.
The report I read suggested the court sounded very supportive of this gerrymander.

Not sure we ever will. Only we if get to such an extreme where the majority of voters nationally end up in the minority. I don't think that's occurred in House elections.
But the corrosiveness of 80+ % of seats being party safe is very evident.
