Look for X to be dismissed.0

My opinion of a minor traffic violation is not coming to a complete stop at a stop sign or doing 40 in a 30.
90 in a 50, is major.
Just my opinion, good thing I am not going to be the judge or coach.
Just a point of minor clarification, if the speeding happened south of the 46 intersection like what I've read and heard, it is not 50 mph there, it's more like 35 - 40.

After a few days, I do not expect Xavier to be dismissed. Mason Gillis of Purdue had a DUI which is worse, and he served his suspension and then was a starter in B1G.

Maybe. The main difference is that Mason did not have any previous violations of team rules. X? Not so much.

That you know of. Lots of stuff gets handled internally at all schools, and frequently doesn’t result in suspension which is the only thing that the public sees

Lol okay Kern County. Your team had Gillis’ DUI which could have been much worse, and Young Stoney (aka Ryan Cline) passed out from drugs in a car with his foot on the gas.
The "comatose behind the wheel" player you refer to is now featured and cheered on their video board chugging a beer in the stands.

Now that is a good look and strong message.

Also you would think that with as much focus as Ordy/Kern here has on IU, he could get the whole "motor vehicle issue" thing right. The halloween problem was not a motor vehicle issue.

The stop was made at Knight's Landing apts. The stop sign in question was inside the apt community on private property, that won't stick.

Formerly known as Walnut Knolls for those who may not have been in Bloomington recently.
Yep. Lived there my senior year, 1981. Hell of a party in our apartment watching the NCAA championship game. When it ended, I filled a pitcher from the keg and headed out (on foot) for the fountain with the gang. One of the best of many great nights in B'town.

Was WK the place that had the big courtyard with the balcony all the way around?

Why hasn’t sleepy Mike thrown the book at this kid @Courtsensetwo ?
Not sure. Perhaps the same reason your DUI kid was kept last year?

Perhaps the same reason why pu glorifies a kid who was found comatose in a running car chugging a beer in the stands?

Perhaps the same reason your AD blamed a vctim in an ugly late night incident at McDonalds?

You don't want to go down this path I assure you. Take ordfan and head back to GBI and post this shit.

Here’s the only question that matters…

How would this board react if this was an evil UK player? What an indictment on “the squid”! Should never play again! Thugs! IU wouldn’t stand for it! Just funny how the morality police have have different standards to judge by.
I do think you could be correct about that.
Although Brad Davison is a thug playing for Wisconsin, UK, IU, or the Vatican

Ah yes, back when North Carolina was our stepping stone.

Y'all keep leaving off the felony part.

Great place. There ano Park Doral were two places where parties routinely broke out. No chance you could’ve attended IU and not known about either one.

Oh no. He broke curfew. That likely happens many places with no one’s knowledge. In fact, had a PU player at our sorority night before a game, probably around 1:00 am. I was very tempted to call Painter and rat him out.

Interesting. That would’ve been a no-no at just about every sorority? What sorority?

Ah yes..... Park Doral........

I was listening to Charlie Miller's perspective on this fiasco. He had some good insights. I am not going to try to speak for him. Head to YouTube to find out.

If this had happened at UK, he would never have been arrested. The cops would have pulled him over and after finding out who he was, they would have taken selfies with him, got his autograph and given him a ride home.

You mean a “charge”. It won’t be close to a felony by the end of next month. That stop sign was in a private neighborhood. Stop acting like he’s a drug dealing murderer on death row. The legal system can charge you the max as they see fit. It won’t stick. It’s Monroe county.

Lol not really. But I’m not telling. As for the player, no one would be surprised.
A pu player actually getting into an IU sorority at 1 am would be any pu student's dream. They might hang a banner next to the Hellman's Mayo banner.

Glad you didn't tell because the pu AD might have used their trusty "blame the victim" press release.

Further than a one pitcher walk, hopefully you were able to refill that bad boy a couple of times along the way.

Absolutely. That was the whole reason for taking a pitcher. We stopped at multiple places on the way and the way back. People were so happy that no one cared who was crashing the party and taking their booze.

I can tell you from firsthand observation within our frat that you are correct.

i think the only place where arrests typically become an issue with the school or a school sponsored organization is when it involves harm/harassment of another student.

Your logic couldn’t be more incorrect. Think of it like this. In my day, being at Purdue was like fishing in a near barren body of water the size of Lake Michigan. Visiting IU was like fishing in a barrel. Visiting Ball State was like having a waiter serve you the fish.

Hope this helps.

I think formalized felony charges would likely elicit a disciplinary reaction from the University if IU was aware of them. In the case of X, the issue is probably confined to what the Athletic Department chooses to do, and they’ll certainly be a part of it given some of the previous auto related transgressions associated with the program.

Another issue - what if he gets all the practice time at the point and then does this again. Our new point lost all those reps
Really? Thats your take? Informal workouts don't start until mid June, which by then Woody will have enough info to handle the situation. Formal practice doesn't start until the fall, still more time. You don't know for sure what the starting lineup is RIGHT NOW, let alone who is coming back or not for sure and your scared your taking reps away from another pg? Lighten up Francis

There's no way this felony will stick. It should have been two misdemeanors; one for reckless driving and one for resisting, but for switching seats and not the aggravated resisting for not stopping the car right away. The felony part of the statute is meant for high speed chases, which it doesn't sound like this was. We don't know the exact facts, but my guess is it took a while for the officer to catch up to Xavier if he was really going that fast, and if he had enough time to try to switch seats then that only confirms that the officer was far behind him when he activated his lights. I'm sure he probably did see the cop coming up on him, but that's going to be hard to prove, especially when he parked his car at his own apartment complex.
