It’s indictment time again….

Ignorant is your incessant backing of a guy behind a mountain of evidence against him. Let me explain the difference. No one elected fauci. They elected trump. Health is one variable of myriad policy concerns. You don’t let fauci set the narrative. Desantis read the literature on his own. Then HE the elected official made decisions cognizant of other concerns as well. You can agree or disagree with his choices but that’s how you govern.
I think you'll find Desantis shut down the state, just like they all did. Sure, later, after it was obvious the virus was attacking mainly the elderly and those with pre-existing conditions much more than people under 60, he opened things up. I used to post many statistics here virtually every day, showing the same thing.

But Trump had no authority to shut anything down - that was all local decisions. In hindsight, he shouldn't have give Fauci so much visibility, but he would have been vilified even more than he already is now.

And Desantis was running his state - not the US government. It makes a difference.

Fauci was the darling of the 'scientific' community. Nothing was going to be done to stop Covid from running its course.

If Trump hadn't followed Fauci's recommendations and millions still died, he'd have been impeached and in jail for following the wrong course - no matter what he did.

You can blame Trump for a lot of things, but blaming him for following Fauci is just ignorant.
What exactly are you backing? This is a guy who lost to a cadaver. Then tried to pretend there was fraud. Created a mess. Filed 32 frivolous lawsuits. Has been indicted up and down the coast with more coming. Lost us the senate. I mean at this point are you just blind? He’s an embarrassment

The narrative and celebrity that attended fauci and libs in Illinois and the rest ran with was all trump’s fault.

If you're going to blame him for losing the Senate, then you must give him credit for winning the House.

And, without the House, the Biden investigation would never have happened.

Trump might have lost to a cadaver, but he's the choice - or was the choice - of the Party whose policies I most support. He may be again and, if he is, barring some craziness, I'll vote for him again in the general. In the Primary, I'm probably going to vote for Scott. I'm hoping Scott gets enough support that he'll be at least a good VP choice.

Political indictments don't mean much to me. If there was an equal application of justice, Adam Schiff, and many others, would be in jail for lying about the Russian Collusion lie. No one was indicted for that attempted coup. James Comey would be in jail, as would Peter Strojk. Joe Biden and Mike Pence would be charged with possessing classified documents. By the way, how's that Special Prosecutor doing on his investigation into Joe's possession of classified docs? He has dismissed that already, or is it over for lack of interest by the media?

So, get off your high horse about the Trump indictments. And an indictment is not a conviction, so slow your roll. Jack Smith has lost trials and been unanimously overturned by the Supreme Court. I'm sure he'll get a conviction in DC, but that's a long way from over.

Until you examine who died from COVID in 2021. Until we got down to the Delta variant, unvaccinated were dying at a 10-1 clip compared to vaccinated among those under the age 65. Of course, as the strains weakened, it narrowed the gap, but it's still pushing at a 2-1 clip, obviously at much lower numbers.

People fighting masks was among some of the dumbest live theater we've had in my lifetime.

WTF are you babbling about?
As always, have to spell it out SLOWLY for Danc.1. You were whining about the judge assigned to indictment number three and implied that is wasn’t random. 2. I replied that indictment number two had a very Trump friendly judge 3. You responded that the Mar A Largo judge was not randomly selected either. 4. So in Danc world both judges were “placed “. 5. One is Trump friendly, one not. Evens out, right?
Clear enough?

Pure nonsense. There should have been an absolute red wave. The trump crowd In politics are as dumb as the far left crowd. Everything else you write is a mixture of wrong and delusional but assuming arguendo that you’re right why on earth would you want a guy who just loses that much? The Dems just beat him at every turn. In elections. In court. He just can’t stop losing. Why not find a winner? I dislike Biden as much as trump. Kick the loser trump out and back a guy who can win

Oh you are on one today. I don’t think you even know what you’ve just typed. I know you are upset at indictment number three, but try to remain calm And use a bit of logic. And at least remember what you’ve said from one post to the next.

Upset? No, quite the contrary. I think it's humorous that you all haven't been this convinced you've got Trump since the Russian Collusion lie.

Yeah but his baggage is political corruption. Using his office to cause harm to everyday people for political reasons. You guys would have a field day with that dude if he was the candidate.
Chris Christie is a horrible candidate for Republicans. You're spot on about why Democrats like him. At least Huntsman and Kasich were legitimately fairly conservative and had avoided massive corruption scandals.

I just laugh at you every time you mention the Russian Collusion. You STILL think it makes a point. It doesn’t. As usual, the point went right over your head.

I meant about what I posted in the post you responded to.

But I understand why you won't answer.
I addressed in my response to you in the other thread. He is being indicted up and down the coast. Fed and state courts. Went 0-32 in his fraud lawsuits. And you think he’s unfairly treated?

As for Biden and others who cares. They aren’t the topic. Trump is. If DANC shoots a guy he can’t say yabbut bulk shot someone too. It doesn’t work like that.

I want to know why the irs inquiry was halted on Biden. But that has nothing to do with trump

I think it points to the double standard of justice, which is why Trump is being indicted.

Political indictments.

Again so what if there is a double standard. Two things can be true. There is a double standard AND trump obstructed justice. Absconded with classified documents. Perpetrated a fraud with 32 frivolous lawsuits. On and on. Those actions (not thoughtcrime or whatever silliness) are actions. Criminal actions related to trump. There’s no defense “well other people do bad stuff too). If DANC robs a bank and gets caught and Joe doesn’t that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be prosecuted. This is basic stuff

Frivolous law suits and advancing spurious legal theories is not criminal. There is no criminality in this most recent indictment. Although they do appear to have him dead to rights in the documents case.

Your theory holds there in that it’s not Jack Smith’s job to worry about Comey’s failures in not indicting Hillary. That would rely on Garland/ Biden exercising discretion and integrity that we know they don’t have.

It is basic stuff - when crimes aren't prosecuted, it promotes more crime. We're seeing that in action.

You can't have a double standard of justice and expect to continue at as Constitutiona Republic.

What you are missing in the pleadings advanced is a good faith belief. Trump’ lacked same and according to the allegations knowingly proffered false claims which put him in criminal jeopardy under the stats cited in the indictment. What you wrote is wholly inapposite. Let’s pick a winner and dump Biden and trump

Trump is not capable of admitting when he’s made an error or accepting responsibility for his own actions. It’s always someone else’s fault

Which statute specifically? Fraud necessitates swindling the government out of money or property, Trump attempted to do neither.

Even if Smith could somehow prove that Trump KNEW that the election the election was not, in fact, stolen from him (I’m dubious), Trump is within his rights to hyperbolize and attempt to influence legislatures.

I'm guessing they have a better grasp of the laws than you do.

Trump is the guy who shows up at a house when Chris Hanson answers the door, except he's bringing others down with him.

Parents have rights. They have the right to send their child to another school. They shouldn't have the right to attempt to restrict what others learn.

You're probably the president of your HOA and think it's cool to tell others what they can do with their property.
They also have the right to tell some creepy adult teacher trying to confuse their kid about their gender at age six to F off.

I’m sure your view from Carmel is just swell. Come to downtown Chicago where the rubber meets the road. Experience and perspective is everything. People like you and Zeke like to lob your wannabe insight from the Indiana backwoods. Long story short, you have no idea what you’re talking about.

I would never be on the board of an HOA in a million years FWIW.

He can't disrupt the functioning of government. I think that's one of the underlying claims, and he tried to do that by organizing fake electors?

The beginning of the charging doc admits that Trump could lie about the election results.

Here's a summary of the charges Trump is facing in Washington, D.C., for attempts to overturn the results of the 2020 election:

  • one count of conspiracy to defraud the United States applies to Trump's repeated and widespread efforts to spread false claims about the November 2020 election while knowing they were not true and for allegedly attempting to illegally discount legitimate votes all with the goal of overturning the 2020 election, prosecutors claim in the indictment.
  • one count of conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding was brought due to the alleged organized planning by Trump and his allies to disrupt the electoral vote's certification in January 2021.
  • one count of obstruction of and attempt to obstruct an official proceeding is tied to Trump and his co-conspirators' alleged efforts after the November 2020 election until Jan. 7, 2021, to block the official certification proceeding in Congress.
  • one count of conspiracy against rights refers to Trump and his co-conspirators alleged attempts to "oppress, threaten and intimidate" people in their right to vote in an election.
The full indictment is attached in this piece:

So f*cking stupid. Was Schiff planning to install himself as president? You don't even know what "coup" means.

Tell you what. Schiff won't be anywhere near the DC federal courthouse when it's show time next year. Neither will Nancy Pelosi. Or Adam Kinzinger, or Liz Cheney or any of the other current or former members of Congress you hate. You know who will be there, though? Trump's legal team, on bended knee, begging Smith for a deal that keeps their client-from-hell out of jail. If Trump refuses to accept a plea deal (and he's so stupid he will probably nix it), do you know who we'll see next? A parade of trial witnesses, almost all of them Republicans, who will take your boy down.

You know what you should do? You should read the indictment, but you don't have the balls because it would force you to face the reality that the man you worship is an anti-American, anti-democratic piece of trash.

Your kid goes to a downtown Chicago public school? Awesome! Good for you.

I doubt teachers are trying to confuse any child about their gender, but you're free to move your child out of an environment you don't deem suitable.

See...parental rights. That's how that works.

PS - my view from Carmel is swell, and your prejudice is duly noted.
