It’s indictment time again….

Really good breakdown of the indictment here, everyone take a chance to read. Shapiro is a Harvard law grad not a lightweight Cooler lawyer.

Shapiro didn't last a year as a lawyer. Jack Smith is also a HLS grad and has practiced as a prosecutor for three decades. That doesn't mean Smith is right, and Shapiro wrong, but if you're going to try an argument from authority, you might want to think about who exactly it is you need to contend with, and just how great your authority really is.

I don't have a subscription, so can't read it. I'd like to, though.

Only kidding on the Harvard law grad stuff. I don’t put any stock in that. I’m the least credentialist person in the world.

Ketanji Brown Jackson has a Harvard JD and after reading her dissent in the Harvard case, I’m convinced I have a better understanding of the law than her.

Buy a subscription. Support the Daily Wire, they do important work.

And Shapiro choosing a different career path only further reinforces his brilliance.

I heard Barr yesterday talking about the attorneys. He said that Trump would just fire them if they didn’t say what he wanted, so he kept going until he ended up with the goofy attorneys who all under indictment now. Doubt this surprises anyone.

Who you calling goofy?.... this was the Elite Strike Force we are talking about. Some would call it a Dream Team.

Yeah but his baggage is political corruption. Using his office to cause harm to everyday people for political reasons. You guys would have a field day with that dude if he was the candidate.
How has anything Joe Biden or hell even Hunter Biden been accused of harmed everyday people?

I'll tell you what Trump's appeal to me is: He recognizes the absurdity of the state of the government and isn't afraid to call it out. See the Dave Chappelle comments on him. Whereas good old Joe would smile, pat you on the back, and steal your wallet, Trump is arrogant and narcissistic but isn't trying to profit off a lifetime in politics.

Sometimes it takes someone crude, with a take-no-prisoners approach to get anything done. There's no doubt Trump was paranoid after the Russian Collusion bullshit that ran on for years. People like Hoops totally ignore anything that he did during his Presidency and, in fact, lie about what he was able to do.

As far as getting anything done, who will be able to do that without the House and Senate being in control of the same Party? I don't know of anyone, although I think Scott comes closest.
"Trump is arrogant and narcissistic, but isn't trying to profit off a lifetime in politics."
Trump going down the escalator in Trump Tower announcing his candidacy was a total publicity stunt to begin with and he had no intentions of winning even the primary. Now that he IS in a lifetime of politics, he is doing everything he can to maximize profit for himself by using his status. ie. Selling $99 NFT trading cards of REDICULOUS images of HIMSELF. ie. He being a proclaimed billionaire playing the VICTIM so his delusional everyday man and woman (the same folks that bought these NFTs) are now funding his mounting legal bills.
His decisions are based on what will benefit him most and he doesn't give one _ _ _ _ about his duped base.

I read the indictment in its entirety. It speaks for itself. I don't need Shapiro or anyone else "breaking it down" for me. Not surprised you do, though.

Well then why was the that (Shapiro's a Harvard Law grad) the only piece of biographical information you included about him in your Post #481? I'm sure it's because you didn't initially realize Smith attended the same school.

You're utterly full of it.

Meant to be a swipe at the law men on this board who believe their interpretation of court cases we discuss deserves favor over others.

You need to calm down. You’re being too loud.

I think both of those guys suck but they weren't who I was referring to in the post you quoted if you go back and follow the thread.

I touched on that lower in the post. The candidate I am looking for has to have two qualities:

1. The ability to take the slings and arrows that always come with being a conservative candidate and take that fight back to the opposition (and there are different ways to fight).

2. The ability to advance conservative (or even slightly moderate) changes to our current trajectory.

I think Trump has the fight part down, I don't think he has the advance part down. I think #2 is going to be even more difficult for him because I don't think he understands how to work government. He is used to being a dictator of his business where his word is law. That isn't how government works. He has burned a bunch of bridges and used up political capital that he won't get back. I think 4 years of Trump will be about Trump. It is all you guys are focused on and it will be all he has the time to respond to. I think he has done some wrong and I think that he was kind of ripped off a bit on how he was treated his 4 years (which I believe fed into how he acted). I also think that him coming along again is counterproductive to what I would like to see done because for Trump and for all you guys that don't like him, everything becomes about him.

He only has half of it. The other half is that for all of their credentials, they are most responsible for the state of the world today. If the world is held up on the back of your wisdom, you better make sure you are actually wise....

The point about journalism once being a blue collar profession hits hard.

It did used to be hard scrabble kids who truly wanted to (and I hate this phrase) speak truth to power.

Now they are the power. Ivy educated dipshits trying to cram their world view on a populous they don’t understand and don’t care to.

All politicians have big egos, but with Trump it's something else. It's a mental health issue. He's a sociopath with a narcissistic personality disorder. He doesn't care about anything or anyone that doesn't bear his name. No empathy, no caring, no nothing. He doesn't understand service, including military service (at Arlington, with General Kelly at Kelly's son's gravesite: "I don't get it? What was in it for them?"). He's always been the only one who matters, the best at everything, the only guy who gets the second scoop of ice cream, the guy who believes that the rules don't apply to him. He sets the agenda. He makes the rules. He always does what he wants with no regard for anything other than how that action will impact him.

If you read it, he doesn't apologize for it, or even blame the 'elite' for being wrong. He's just saying that's why we cretins vote for Trump.

As you say, he's only halfway there.

Traditional journalism is dying. Now it's influential dipshits on social media and podcasts trying to cram their world view on naive and ignorant people who lap it all up.

Traditional journalism died awhile ago. Started when literally like 3 massive companies bought all the traditional outlets.

Wait. Aren't you the same guy that not long ago demanded that Zeke "leave the board right now!" And hurled a pretty disgusting sexual insult at me?

But I'm "too loud?" Pretty much all you've ever got is noise.

It’s becoming decentralized. Which has pros and cons.

It’s harder to agree on what’s true and identify truth because everything is more editorialized. But it’s also a check against narrative monopolization.

You don’t have to go back far to find a more consolidated media that was overwhelmingly supportive of the Vietnam or even Iraq war. What’s the disposition of traditional media outlets on Ukraine? Not much dissent is there?

Zeke SHOULD leave the board if she is going to continue to opine from an uninformed place. Same with Hickory. And Cray. She detracts value. Like a sound board with a couple dozen phrases and talking points that are hit over and over.

Interesting look inside the mind of a simpleton though.

This is why people love the man. That’s not going to play well with a jury of DC cretins though.
If Trump were smart there would never be a DC jury, and his lawyers sure as hell won't want to pick a jury, but he has really bad judgment and frequently does stupid things so we may see one.

You think Trump is dumb enough to believe the election was stolen from him? Serious question.
Irrelevant. The defense is going to have a parade of witnesses that testify to that effect.

Smith better have something more than people in his administration telling Trump otherwise. If he doesn’t, Trump might lose in DC, SCOTUS would rightly over turn it.

But the political damage will have been done. And that’s really the point of this no?

Iraqi. You know she hates the uswnt!! Love her! 39. Something called widener law school. Wow. She should just start figuring out the sentencing guidelines points now. Yikes
She's Iraqi? I guess I know where I'm going for a mail order bride if the opportunity arises!

Oh Farva, bless your ignorant heart. Your itty bitty feelings are hurt because I caught you lying again last week. Maybe you’re the one that should leave. And stay gone instead of coming back with another name. Simpleton is indeed, the perfect name for you and what you consider discourse is generally nothing but garbage. But nice try.

Yeah Rudy is smoking hot. And his other kook Sydney Powell?
Rudy is like Christie - they were useful insiders. Until they weren't.

No explanation for Sydney, other than she sounded legit. North Carolina girl (I used that term loosely)

Right. Supreme Court is NOT turning over their judgement. You’d better believe Smith has plenty. You don’t think Mike Pence would make a pretty good witness? Along with his copious notes? How about Mark Meadows?

Right. Supreme Court is NOT turning over their judgement. You’d better believe Smith has plenty. You are very much like Trump in that you constantly spout forth word salad and then pretend like only you understand and have the ultimate knowledge. For not liking Trump, allegedly, you sure make a lot of excuses for him.
Oh good Lord - Smith has already been overturned unanimously on the bribery charge against the Virginia governor.

You guys act like he's some superstar - he's a political hack, which is why he's given these cases.

That’s one. Everyone knows that. I imagine he’s treated this case a bit differently.
