Israel under attack from Hamas

'..oligarchs chosen by Putin'

You know this how again?
Here is an interesting article on Putin and the oligarchs which in part states...

Oligarchs and other members of the economic elite are being reduced to roles equivalent to that of ‘red directors’ during the Soviet Union – that is, managers rather than owners of property, and without independent political power.

It represents yet another example of the continuing dismantling of rules and institutions in Russia, and the further transformation of ‘the Putin system’ into a dictatorship.

Seems like a lot of Hamas probably escaped. You can't win wars using the precautions that Israel is being forced to take.

If you have Ally force you to tell the enemy when and where you are going to attack and then give the enemy time to evac........ Your Ally is not helping you win, quite the contrary actually.

I think we are seeing the real Musk not feeling constrained to live by society's rules.
Looks to me like he's criticizing the Anti-Defamation League. That's not anti-Semitism.

The ADL takes some pretty extreme positions. Sort of like a Jewish Southern Poverty Law Center.

The Palestinians dislike us more than Israel and the overwhelming majority of them believe in no two state solution and they supported 10/7.

Frankly, I had very little sympathy for them to begin with. This poll pretty much solidifies my feelings. I stick by my original thoughts. I would never give them a ceasefire. Total surrender or complete annihilation. WW2 rules for Germany and Japan.

Craze, how do you know the great majority of Palestinians support Hamas ?

Hamas won an election in Gaza in 2006 without having an election since. Now Hamas has managed to cause a storm of retaliation upon the Palestinians which will probably make most of them homeless refugees without a country.

It is in the polling at the link I provided.

This was from the same polling.

**** that. Let Israel finish them off. You know what a bunch of blue helmeted western soldiers are in Gaza? Targets. We will be bombing Islamic Jihad and Hamas within a month of their deployment.

Our leaders are stupid if they agree to that.
Can’t we let the Chinese do it?

Craze, appreciate your response, but I don't Tweet and definitely don't trust Visegrad 24 polls if actually taken since 10/07.

Realize before 10/07 polls showed there were Palestinians in Gaza who didn't support Hamas, but polls showed that most in fact did.

What i am asking is, how many Palestinians now support Hamas since its attack on Israel has brought misery, death, and homelessness to their doors ?

It isn't Visegrad, he was merely pulling a snapshot from the AWRAD (Arab World for Research and Development) polling of Palestinians from October 31 to Nov 7.

Go to the bottom of that page and they have a link to a pdf of the English table of results. It is a 37 page document of questions and answers. On page 13 of 37 they were asked: "How do you view the role of the following parties?" Hamas was viewed "Very Positive" by 48.2% of respondents and as "Somewhat Positive" by 27.8% of respondents. That is 76% of all respondents who view Hamas at least somewhat positively. 22.3% (combined somewhat or very) viewed them negatively. Take a look, it is all there. Fateh, the Palestinian Authority...the moderates come in last. Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Al Aqsa Brigade, Hizbollah...all rate higher than their moderates. Support is higher for these groups in the West Bank, but even Gaza is still around 60% favorable towards Hamas.

I know it stinks when you have the pictures of the kids in Gaza but the adults in those areas are basically still massively supporting the terrorists who lead them. When you see the answers to the other questions in that poll, there is no negotiating. They need beaten. Period. Anything less leads to quiet for a time (Hamas launches rockets at Israel which are mostly stopped by Iron Dome but we call that a "ceasefire" and "peace") until said time when Hamas is able to launch another Oct. 7 type attack which they have promised to do again and again until Israel is no more. And that is also the majority position of their people. There is no negotiating with that. You either destroy it or accept that you have to sacrifice some percentage of your population every so many years (in horrific and gruesome fashion) in perpetuity.

If Shani Louk was my daughter...well, I don't much care about the Palestinians until they are forced to unconditionally surrender.

This is, really impossible to have ever assumed. I mean there REALLY wasn't any evidence to base assumptions from before... We should all show our shocked face now... 😱😱😱 , I mean, who could have possibly thunk it! shocked.

What the hell does finish them off supposed to mean?

In case you haven't noticed, Western militaries (I'll include Israel) don't have a track record of much (or any) success with occupying and pacifying Muslim populations

You are an enigma Mr. twenty. Apparently you are a jaded Republican, that lost faith when the Tea Party came around. Yet you sit here and extoll on the folly of GWB's wars in the ME.

Who are you? What do you believe in besides greivance?

Finish them off. Destroy Hamas, force an unconditional surrender. Complete demilitarization, including personal firearms. Change school curriculum. Force the mosques to move towards the most moderate Islam (Sufi).

Basically think of denazification or the terms we forced on Japan after WW2 and it would be parallel to that.

(Since you have to deal with them. It would never fly because of modern sensibilities but honestly relocation would probably be best for everyone involved but it wouldn't happen and OMG how can you say that you heartless bastard.)

Thanks for saving my kid. One day I hope he can get himself killed fighting you.

At a certain point the people in the West need to realize that not everyone on this planet has the same social construct we do. There is no talking it out with that. Sorry. They saved that kid and 18 years from now they will be shooting him because his mother hates them more than she loves her son.

Welcome to fvking reality.

Most of us figured this out years ago.

From what I've heard, more now than before. I think Douglas Murray in that Piers Morgan video stated it as well.

It's hard to fathom. Are we sure that translations are correct? That the summary is?

So you expect Israel to occupy Gaza for another few decades? I mean they already tried that for 40 years before they left in 2005.... you expect them to have more success trying it again?

I think if that were to happen, it would take an international force to pull off. Hopefully with some moderate Arab/Muslim states providing some of the security forces.

I've come to be a believer in pragmatic foreign policy rooted in realism.

I supported Bush wars, though was luke warm, at best about the neocon view of nation building. And even more jaded about the idea today.

It is either that or kill them all. Which do you prefer? They won't accept a UN force there that isn't Islamic and Israel won't accept any Islamic countries as a "UN" force there either. The UNRWA already helps run the schools in Gaza and that is half the problem. Everyone in Gaza is saying they know Hamas was at the hospital. The only people the Israelis might trust as part of the UN force would be at war with the Palestinians in a month. The only people the Palewtinians would trust would be a complete non-starter for the Israelis and would likely look the other way on the terrorists anyway. Finally, the majority of Palestinians and all of their leadership are against any political solution that doesn't mean the dissolution of Israel.

Relocating them is ethnic cleansing, can't do that. So kill them or occupy and deprogram are the only choices left. Take your pick.

I was looking up support for Hamas and found the article below. Qatar provides a lot of cash, it appears to be more than Iran. But I found a paragraph that says Israel was behind Hamas coming to power, Israel wanted Hamas to displace the Palestinian Authority. Here is the paragraph on Qatar's financial involvement.

These cash transfers took place with the approval of the Israelis and the international community, reported The Times of Israel on October 8. According to the news site, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “took an approach that divided power between the Gaza Strip and the West Bank – bringing Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to his knees while making moves that propped up the Hamas terror group”. Furthermore, “most of the time, Israeli policy was to treat the Palestinian Authority as a burden and Hamas as an asset”.

IF that article is accurate, one has to wonder if Israeli involvement in what happens in Gaza can be a positive for Israel. Entirely backing the wrong horse is concerning.
