Israel under attack from Hamas

Those shifty Joos amirite…

It has nothing to do with Judaism no matter how hard you try to make it be.

You have those that believe there are four groups here (Hamas self righteous terrorists who took control in 2006 and won't give it back while ruling with violence and fear cuz, well that's what fascists do, Palestinian citizens, Israeli citizens and Netenyahu's extreme right leaning government featuring far right, pro genocidal, self righteous extremists).

Then you have those that see it simply as Palestinians vs Israelites. Therefore conflating Hamas equals Palestinians and Netenyahu equals Iraelites.

While also conflating being critical of Netenyahu's actions as being an antisemite which anyone with a modicum of critical thought knows is nonsense.

It's like calling a critic of the Rwandan genocide a racist.

Could you post all of this blatantly fake propaganda by the Israelis? I haven't seen it.

On the bit about the Israeli general, are you saying that the Israelis didn't warn the Gazans to move south? There have been quite a few news reports from credible reporters documenting that fact. Pamphlets being dropped, robo calls made to cell phones leaving audio messages. And there is proof they did so: a lot of Palestinians left and headed south before the ground invasion. Are you claiming these are false propaganda, or just that one of the general?

Here's an article that covers a decent chunk.

Off the top of my head, to start the 'there were Hamas terrorists there' has been a catch all for things like the bombing a refuge camp, leveling cities and hospitals, etc which yeah, the bombing of hospitals is a war crime so if you're going to do it, you better be validated....which they haven't.

Instead they've put out some amature James Bond computer animation of weapons and underground tunnels which have been denied by those that have worked there and should be pretty easy to prove, but they haven't.

They pointed to a poster on the wall and said it was a list of terrorists that were there, but it was a just a calendar.

They've gone on TV with a crisp clean copy of Mien Kampf saying they found it in the back pocket of a dead Hamas terrorists who was hiding out in a child's bedroom. The book was in perfect condition and even had some of the most antisemitic phrases highlighted. Was obviously made up.

They had some chick who was supposedly posting from this latest hospital as a nurse that works there that Hamas has taken over...she posted in broken English (again with the English theatre) but those who work at the hospital have never heard from her and no one could identify her.

They've posted supposedly Palestinians celebrating the cruelty of Hamas which turned out to be a clip from a Lebanese movie from a couple years ago.

As I said before, propaganda that obvious makes it hard to really trust that there isn't an ulterior motive.

That being said, there are rumors that a truce is close right now so hopefully that's the case.

Pretty big deal to intercept a missile in outer space.

“Magen Or, the Israeli rocket interception system, which utilizes a high-powered laser, will soon undergo a series of tests under the conditions of actual combat in the southern part of the country. Magen Or (Iron Beam) represents the next step in Israel’s self-defense capabilities: a laser system capable of neutralizing rockets, missiles, or drones from a distance, at zero cost compared to the Iron Dome.”

They've posted hostages being drug into said hotel, camera footage of Palestinians murdering people trying to escape a concert (Yes Palestinians, civilians followed Hamas in), they have show you mutilated bodies, CCTV footage of a girl begging for her life who is shot point blank, footage of the underground terror tunnels, footage of rockets and mortars in schools, children being abused by Palestinian children, bodies being spat upon, and on and on.

No, there is plenty of footage to back their response. They've been restrained.

According to MBFC, TRT World is a relatively untrustworthy source owned by the Turkish government.

We've been testing something similar as well.

We know there is a financial problem with using a surface-to-air missile or MANPADS costing tens of thousands of dollars to shoot down a multi-hundred dollar quadrocopter drone.

“Underground tunnels which have been denied”…that was the dead giveaway. The Israelis built the tunnels…they knew they were present

Now stuff like this isn't helpful.

No winners in this exchange. You got to be a real scumbag to harass a Halal vendor. They're essentially Cops with no authority or weaponry. You come into regular contact with society's lowest of the low and the drunkest of the drunk, but you just have to deal with it.

However, it appears that guy went back to that truck multiple times. As evidenced by the different times of day and different outfits in the video. I'm sure there was something inflammatory on the outside of the food truck, but getting in repeated exchanges is just looney toons.

Oh well if he's been fired. We are even then. Good enough I guess as long as he can go on to make book deals, MSDNC appearances, and have 87 LLC's, err'body good now.

When Israel has a leveled vineyard the size of Palestine, selling ship loads of wine under the label of "past Hamas" 2024, There will be peace in the valley.

Huh? Guy came off as a stereotypical ignorant New Yorker to me. F*ck him.
Guy was a lower level national security staffer in the Obama admin. Ironic since his views on Israel seem to be diametrically opposed to Obama's. Perhaps more evidence of administrative bloat. That these agencies are staffed with people who don't agree with the president out of some perceived need for agency independence (aka unaccountability), is evidence that they're too large.
There's zero reason whatsoever for you to assume that. Besides all the other possible reasons that's ridiculous, there's the most obvious: it would be terrible for business for an immigrant food truck vendor to purposefully try to piss his customers off.
Doubtful. But your and I's definition of inflammatory probably differs anyway. I consider even the Palestinian Flag to be inflammatory because it wasn't built in the name of pride for a people or a nation but rather a sense of anger towards Israeli's who "took land" on which there was never a state.

A Palestinian flag, flown in the streets of NYC? At this point in time? Needlessly inflammatory. I believe that it is more likely than the idea this guy walked up to the first brown food truck driver he could find and started berating him. Could be wrong, I don't know, but I wouldn't bet I'm wrong.

That article is just conclusory opinions with no analysis from the Turkish news service. Turkey isn't exactly friendly to Israel.

first paragraph is silly. I agree govt is too big but thinking each employee of each agency should align politically with the president is just crazy un-american talk.

I flew my American flag even after I found out we went into Iraq for BS reasons, killed a bunch of civilians, and lost a bunch of fine men/ women. should actual Palestinians put their flag away because Hamas attacked Israel? Hamas has its own flag.

So stupid. So dumb.

"Agencies" are not a a part of the U.S. government. Everyone in the executive branch should align with the president politically, militarily or at least to a degree to carry out his politics. Everyone in the legislative branch is free to have their own political desires, that is the function of the that branch. Everyone in the judicial branch should push back when one of those branches infringes on the other and/ or the government infringes on individual rights (U.S. federal judiciary is moving in the right direction these days but still really shitty). That's kind of their function as well.

The point being. There is no space in the U.S. constitution for most executive agencies. That comes from Woodrow Wilson's bastardization of the Federal Government. If you want to make an argument for them, you need to make a constitutional amendment argument and not an argument based on an unlawful stauts quo.

I'll be very interested to see how this plays out. If I'm Hamas I am in a major bind right now and am looking to buy time. However, every hostage I give up is another piece of leverage.

This will not end well. A few Israeli hostages get released and then the fighting resumes. Israel will lose the PR battle. This is not a group to enter negotiaiions with, and most of these hostages are as good as dead.

Netanyahu calls it a “lull in fighting” not a ceasefire

“The Israeli government, the IDF and the security forces will continue the war to return all the abductees, complete the elimination of Hamas and ensure that Gaza does not renew any threat to the State of Israel.”

Everyone in the country, with extreme emphasis to those employed with our paycheck, should 1) love this country, what it has always stood for and what it has offered the rest of humanity to achieve towards 2) do their fvcking job with full expectation of giving their full capabilites as the founding fathers did, as every privately employed person does 3) if you are recruited to act against the the spirit of the founding and centuries old principles of this country, you shall report, advertise it loudly until heard, or sacrifice yourself for the country.
Pledge that, we have a good start to this bureaucratic BS that the right, the " RIGHT" are fighting for today.
There is the "find out" part after fvck around, we are at the Find out part in this country. Time to stand up, the liberals are hear, the liberals are hear ! Those strong flawed men that built this wonderful experiment, never imagined this level of stupid, and their populace was ~5% literate (the best I can find). Think about that. Education has made us more stupid and we have those if us that chose to eat their own for power.

I think you’re linking propaganda about propaganda. That site isn’t considered very reputable due to its anti-Israel bias. Everything in your link is totally one sided.

Who cares about the PR battle, at this point?

But all babies, children, and women should be released. The men are screwed anyway - they're likely not going to be released under any circumstances.

Fair enough, I can link more general articles from the BBC, WAPO, Politico, The Intercept and NPR (just doing a Google search of Israeli propaganda) but that article gave more background on some of the examples that I've listed and have seen.

As an example, this is Israeli president Isaac Herzog going on the BBC saying they found this amazingly, perfectly unscathed copy of Mein Kampf on a dead Hamas terrorist hiding out in a Palestinian child's bedroom. I mean come on.

This isn't a Twitter twit, it's the President of Israel.

Here is Herzog again saying this is proof of a Hamas chemical weapons manual when in fact is a biography of a 9/11 terrorist.

Bottom line, the misinformation war that's being waged right now over this conflict is absolutely insane, particularly on social media where anything goes. Obviously Hamas is peddling it but so is Netenyahu's team.

The fact that Israel has engaged in it's share of bad propaganda erodes trust and makes you question motives, especially in the light of how much carnage and destruction we've seen over an area that's around the size of Philadelphia (fun fact, more bombs have been dropped in Gaza than we dropped on Afghanistan in its worst year).

Bring the thunder!!!

So you believe that the Israeli’s are lying about finding a copy of Mein Kampf because the book is not worn out enough?

There certainly is a misinformation war being waged. I think you fail to understand that what you are reading and posting is part of it, from Hamas and their allies.

If you honestly believe the Israeli president went on TV or in public holding up a biography and claiming it was a Hamas chemical weapons manual, well, I have a few bridges I'd like to sell you.

It took me all of one search, at the top of the page, to debunk that claim:

I also watched the video with the copy of Mein Kampf. It's not "perfectly unscathed"--you can see it's creased on the bindings, as a paperback book bound like that would be.

None of this is "obviously" or "blatantly" false propaganda.

That's an interesting internal critique by an Israeli of Israeli culture. I know a lot of Israelis who feel similarly. Never having been there, I can't comment, but it seems consistent with what I read.

Can you find an analogous clip of a critique of Palestinian culture from a Palestinian?

I want to be clear here: there are people in the Israeli government who want to send out propaganda to bolster public opinion. Of that I have no doubt. The #1 example might be the story of the baby headings, which I've questioned since it was originally reported. But it seems like we have a reasonable story of what that was, how it got reported that way, etc. (someone should still write it up as a journalistic essay).

But Tommy Cracker hasn't provided credible links or examples yet. I think that's telling, because we know for certain Hamas is engaged in a campaign of misinformation, that includes accusing Israel of engaging in a campaign of disinformation. And Israel has disincentives to outright lying or deception--its own press investigate claims and could sink a government internally for lying and the blowback of international support, which it must have to keep fighting. Hamas, on the other hand, thinks it has only upside (which unfortunately is proven correct with postings like this and the pro-Palestian protests and antisemitism sweeping the world).

So you think something you THINK is propaganda by one person is the same as the propaganda put out by HAMAS?

Hamas lies are so outlandish, no one takes anything they say seriously. But Israel is supposed to be perfect, or else they're equivalent to Hamas.

You're standards are strangely double-sided, but I shouldn't be surprised, after seeing your political views here.

The #1 biggest, most irresponsible mistake would be to trust Hamas, Muslim extremist for that matter, to do what they say that they will do.
There is an old saying, fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. This is fool me for 1,000 years! .... 1,000 YEARS!
