A Democrat in the state House has decided to switch to Republican. This move will allow the GOP to override vetos as they will have supermajorities in both legislatures. What makes this interesting, her district is heavily Democrat. So why would someone leave the dominant party? Change of conscious? Maybe hoping that the state supreme court will refute previous rulings and rule that the GOP can gerrymander in NC and that they will be favorable to her?

Here is the news on her move:

Here are other elections in Mecklenburg County showing large D wins:

Here is her campaign site showing she believes healthcare is a right, wanting to build a fairer economy, a champion of LGTBQ+, none a hot-button Republican issue.

Where it seemed clear Sinema was not in step with D's, look at her site and see where she didn't run as hard-core D as anyone. It just seems odd for her to switch.

Sh represents the state district I live in - Mint Hill, which is just outside Charlotte.

Big bruhaha about it - the Dems are trying to get her recalled.

Evidently she's hounded mercilessly online for using praying hand emojis. She's big on family values and she feels like she doesn't have a home in the Democrat Party anymore.
