Kel-vin Samp-son...we could've had 20 years of pure joy. But no...
He ****ed our entire program over. The phone calls and texting was just the tip of the iceberg. Great coach for other schools, but not at Indiana.
Sampson is by far the best IU coach since Bob Knight. Not even close
Wrong, Dakich f'd it up in a backlash of him not getting the job and Crean took advantage of that for years so we'd always be in a permanent rebuild. 20 years later, we probably would have been better off with Davis

IU went on probation for Sampson. Not Dakich. Dudes were smoking weed and blowing off classes and flunking. Texting and phone calls were just the tip of the iceberg. Sampson totally blew it at IU and ****cked over our program and school. I agree he's a hell of a coach. Had he not done the things that he did, he may still be here and who knows what we could have accomplished. Dakich had zero to do with what transpired with Sampson.
Different time and era. Sampson came right to IU under the microscope and did the very thing he was just caught doing. Idiot. Had he done those things today, he'd still be at IU just as Self is at Kansas for far more egregious violations.
Davis actually did a "solid" job with the 04-05 team in conference play. Top 5 non conf schedule and 2-6 ti start and then finish 10-6 in conference. Blew his nut in big 10 quarterfinal vs Minnesota. The following year, had DJ White not broke his foot twice, Iu would have had him 2
more years. Point is nothing really.
Kelvin Sampson would have won #6 since 06 to now. Multiple B1G titles and a couple Final Fours most likely.
