When the “shoe gate” recordings came out, which showed cheating by Kansas, Arizona, LSU etc a Kansas coach was recorded speaking to an Adidas rep about what Zion Williamson was requesting. The rep replied he wanted housing for his family and cash. Zion ended up going to Duke and his family moved from a roughly $153,000 house renting for $850 a month to a nearly $1,000,000 house in Durham with rental value over $4,500 a month. It would be safe to assume that the cash also came through.
Just google it and you will see a number of other tidbits. All the 5* didn’t start pouring into Durham simply because of K’s charm and personality.

They haven’t always. UK got caught. So did Kansas.

Oh there was a way. The IU admin just didn't want to take that way. The NCAA being HQ in Indy also limited some of the choices that could be made at the state flagship school.
