Holy Leal

Loyer was chirping at the IU bench several times in the first half.

Probably backfired on him.
most of Loyer's points came in pseudo garbage time. But he won the first half much like we win the summer.
They are a S16 team at best, depending on tourney matchups. Could just as easily be done by the first Friday night.

Leal was trying to get back on defense and his foot slipped at an inopportune time is at least as plausible as he intentionally kicked him in the balls.
Not if you watch him play and have a brain. He try’s to do something dirty on every play man. How can I flop, how can I get away with a foul, how can I look unathletic so that me fouling doesn’t get called, and yep how can I kick this dude and get away with it.

This is a classic playbook from the Big ten shit players. Now we have one on our team and everyone loves it. Typical.

i thought Gallo was straight vertical, TKR just lifted the ball (and arms/elbows) to get off the shot. Should have just been common foul/basketball play.......IMO the F1 upgrade was bullshit, but at that point in the game it really didn't matter.
That's not the rule. You may say the rule sucks, and that's fine. But the refs are supposed to call the rule and they did.

You've totally gone over the edge dude. I watched back and that kid made more winning plays yesterday than anyone on the team. Just go watch Mizzou hoops for the rest of the year and come back when we have a new coach. I'm sorry Leal ****ed your woman, but move along.

I do watch Mizzou. You should try it. Real basketball. So how many guys have ****ed my girl now on the team? When I call out shit players they banged my girl? Damn I must get some hot girls for all the Indiana basketball studs to bang ‘em.

Also you realize every smart media person thinks he should have been thrown out right for a F2? Great kid 😆

I'm sure it was a grudge **** for all of your shit talking. Seriously, you have some good thoughts on here. This is so far from being one that there's clearly some kind of personal vendetta. Maybe he wouldn't do your stupid podcast?

Can you list those for me? Is Lappas a 'smart media person'?
Coach T said the entire media row at IU thought he was gone, the announcers of said game, Andy bottoms. Literally all the people I have listened to except the Kent sterling piece that was posted here. He is a moron too, I’ll never listen to him again, just wants to hear himself talk.

What podcast? I’ve never done one in my life. Are you referring to the NIL thing I started 3 years ago when it started and did one episode to **** with people on here that said I couldn’t get players to talk with me? All started when I said I’ll get Tamar to put Cavanagh rules on his shoes.

Leal actually texted me this year out of the blue and asked for another NIL deal for solar for his parents house. I told him I didn’t do that and I would not be giving him any more money. lol. I was dumb to give him a dollar in the first place. I won’t be doing anymore NIL deals :).

He does some things. For example he and smith were running down a ball in the back court. Leal had no shot so he is jumped into Smith acting like he was diving for the ball and got a foul call on Smith. On ball screens he doesn't avoid the contact of the screen and knows how to get the screener to look like he is moving enough to get the foul called. Did he kick back 100%. Did he intend on a nut shot. No clue...I would hope not. I do know at the end of the game he was up in the stands talking to some elderly folks (per assembly call pod). He doesn't have the game to keep up so he does some things. As a less than average athlete myself I can kind of dig that. When other teams have these types of players I always say I hate them and can't for them to leave but I also know they help their teams win games.

At the game and again last night on here I was sure it wasn’t intentional. I’ve watched a couple better videos of the play and changed my mind. It does look like he did it on purpose.

Is Coach T the one that cried last year after senior day? LOL

Whatever it was it was horrid. Like HH level horrid.

I’d bet every dollar I had he did it on purpose.

Not sure why you get a bee in your bonnet over certain IU players. Leal has helped this team far more than he's hurt. He's a really good rebounder for his size and doesn't mind mixing it up. He's limited athletically so he's got to make up for it with moxy and energy, which often makes those guys seem "dirty". I remember being surprised a couple years ago when Trey was asked what teammate he'd want on his side in a street fight and he said Leal.

Like me, you're always wanting a "dog" on our roster. Leal's the closest thing we have to it this year, why can't you support him?

He focuses on the wrong things, and the wrong people, consistently. IU's problems are 1) Woodson 2)We don't have elite talent guys that play with the effort that Leal consistently shows

And since Leal is now showing, what many of us already knew, that he is a solid college basketball player... He has to resort to a new criticism, which is all this flopping talk. Missed free throws and airballed threes used to rule the day. He did both of those things in yesterday's game, by the way...and he was still one of the more impactful and productive players in the game...obviously. So, to prove whatever point he feels he has to double and triple and quadruple down on... he adds the flopping part to it.

Leal is a very good basketball player. He won Indiana's Mr Basketball award, and led his BSouth team to an undefeated record his senior year. He leads good teams, when he's allowed to. He's not an elite level basketball player. He's not an All B10 level basketball player. He's not blessed with elite athleticism. But he uses what he has very well. He doesn't "flop" on every single play. But he definitely does it a lot. But he's smart enough about it, that I'm not sure he's ever been called for it.

At a time when the single biggest problem with our program has been consistent effort and energy...Leal is basically the only player the last few years that ALWAYS brings high levels of both.

Leal plays team basketball. Hopefully the new coach brings in a lot more players like him starting next year.

And kind of sums up the Woodson era, that fanboy posters are mad Leal is getting minutes over Tucker after the biggest win of the season.

I'll concede that yesterday is a single game sample size and no grand conclusions should be drawn. However, it does support the ongoing theory that you need 'program players' to sustain a team long term. We kicked ass in the second half, playing primarily program players (sans Goode and spot play from Ballo- Rice could be a program player if he chooses to stick around). Meanwhile we have 10 stars (MM and Tucker 5+5= 10 stars) watching from the sidelines.

And agree with your comment...fine line to walk when we want our players to be pristine holier than thous, yet always call them pussies when they don't play with a chip on their shoulder. I missed much of the first half and never did see this Furst nut kick play, but getting 2 totally different interpretations depending on where I look (on this board for the most part, it was unintentional, while on GBI, Leal should have been shot with a 9mm on site).

Funniest thing I read was a comment that 'they' would have won if refs had the balls to toss Leal. Had to re-read it twice, couldn't believe my eyes. Kid couldn't crack a MAC staring lineup according to many, then suddenly he's the IU heavy on the court that makes the difference. Bizarre. But, it's been a pretty strange F'n year in general, so guess it's right on par.

I'll give Leal this..what we witnessed yesterday is that our problems have not been HIS energy level.
Others, however......well, you saw who was on the court in the 2nd half and who was not. Not naming names...it's pretty easy to figure out. Yet took CMW almost 2 years and basically cost him his job.

What makes you say that? I’ve talked with him and seen him do actual business like things, I bet he fails miserably.
He already has a nice Real Estate business and makes more on NIL than Moze does. I think he will be fine.

Matchups will be everything for them. If they get a team with quick guards that hinder Moze, they will be in trouble fast.

But first things first, Painter needs to get their heads out of the social media sobbing about the refs act because it has destroyed their focus. It is one thing that their fans are immersed in the ref thing (they have always done this) but you cannot allow your players to be in that state...and they are.

Yeah, it was clearly something personal has happened between y'all, because you were completely up his ass 3 years ago.

I had never seen him play basketball at that point lol. I’m not biased, I have every reason to like him. Nothing has happened. He goes to the same church as me and my priest loves him. I just think he’s awful at basketball and hate that he starts for my team. I actually said at the end of last season if we are starting Leal and gallo next year we are screwed. Well we are, and we are. I don’t like sucking or being on the bubble. Woodson and Leal and gallo are reasons we suck. I have blamed a lot of these dudes. Leal just kicked someone in the nuts yesterday. I remember when X was called a thug for that, but Leal has moxy. Hypocriteessssssss

that't been the Purdue way for years.....the fans in Mackey have perfected the "traveling" call. (elbows bent at 90 degrees, rotating wrists pin wheeling around)- 10,000 overweight knuckleheads standing up and doing it in unison, like synchronized swimmers. It's almost a thing of beauty...choreographed very well.

They firmly believe they were cursed once again by the Hall of Calls. As the Joker told that cop in TDK...in their final hours...people show you who they really are. And their post game comments show once again....as much as it pains them, they are still.....little brother.

I think it's slowly settling into their brains....last year was their shot. And they blew it. Probably will never see it again in their lifetimes.

there we have it. Suspected it and didn't want to say it, so glad you did it for me. Yeah, X's sole issue was an obvious nut punch, and that Hoosier fans never forgave him.

Whether he did it on purpose is everyone’s opinion. The refs saw differently for one reason or the other. After the the kick Furst threw up his hands like what the heck. If he had been kicked in the jewels he should have been rolling around and reacting differently than that. We’ve all probably been nailed one time or more in our lives and we all did not react like him. Unless he has no balls. 😂

of course it was on purpose, but I think it was just a reaction to feeling like he got punked by Furst. I've done some similar stuff many times when I felt someone took a shot at me. Don't think it was pre-meditated though or that he came into the game with a grudge to "get Furst".

Touch some grass man. And maybe attend a basketball coaching clinic, so you're a better evaluator of things.
