Frustrating night in Mackey

One of our best friends oldest son is a student at Purdue, goes to roughly "half" the games. He said every game parts of the student section will fire up the "IU sucks" chant, and usually its gets scolded/shot down. He said he often sits near one of the sides of the Paint Crew, and adult fans closest to the student section ALWAYS join in the chant when it fires up.
They try to dampen down the students becuse it is so embarassing but no one stops the alumni.

Love it

Interesting. I never hear it, so it must be just a few people at most. Or maybe as Court would say, the roof is too loud.

I think its "self policing" from the students themselves. My buddies kid said it doesn't last long, but usually a couple times a game there will be small groups of students that try to get it going.

But...he only goes to roughly half the games...and he's not big in to basketball, or sports in general. I think he only went to 1 football game, as an example. So he definitely isn't "in tune" with what the normal student section regulars think.

Purdue is not that great.
They are good.
But not great.
Early tournament flame out against a super quick & athletic team with great guards who Smith & Loyer can't guard.
They are both good offensively but defensively they are a huge liability and why NEITHER are an NBA talent.
Who could they guard in the NBA?
No one.

Just a casual rebuilding year after losing one of the greatest college basketball players ever.

What metrics are you using to say Smith is a bad defender? Not saying he’s great, but bad is quite harsh.

Also not sure I agree on the super fast guards thing.

I clearly recall reading here that Edey could never guard anyone in the NBA and results to that have proven to be incorrect so I am not sure whether or not that is true for Smith and/or Loyer. And it is also fair to say that there are a number of NBA players that have at best a nodding acquaintance with defense so I am not sure how that is a disqualifier.

Also, Smith played against Alabama and their PG, Sears, who is his chief rival for 1st team All-American. In that game he outplayed Sears who does well in the SEC, which is supposed to have quick guards. So I am not sure how true that criticism is.

Hence, to dismiss either seems a bit premature.

Always cracks me up when some insecure rando so desperately wants to be accepted that they look up a bunch of words and concepts they don't understand and them butcher them in actual application.

OK, Mr. Wise Guy, your post says that I looked "...up a bunch of words and concepts that they don't understand and them (sic) butcher them in actual application." and explain exactly what was misused and how incorrectly applied. I'd really like to see you do that.

By the way, I didn't need to look anything up as I am very familiar with data analysis. Just so you know, between undergraduate and graduate school I had 9 semesters of math over multiple subjects within it so I think that I am fairly familiar with math and its applications.

So have at it, I really want to see you explain your post. We already know from your own post made this week that you post things that you have no idea if they are true or false so this explanation should be really, really good.
