We got a contender

The problem for PU fans is you guys do have decent success... at things no one remembers or cares about. Sadly, with the unbalanced schedule and addition of the conference tournaments, that now includes winning the B10 regular season. You'll be remembered far longer for what you almost accomplished last year (NC final appearance) than any of the other "accomplishments" you mentioned. You know what it makes you when you are one of the most successful programs at feats that are irrelevant?

Last 20 years
Purdue - 454 wins
IU - 376 win

Pretty significant difference. Winning makes a fanbase much more enjoyable especially while not living in the past.
Continue with the apathy and those memories from yesteryear!

Woodys gonna f this up. He's married to the Ballo, Reneau, Mgbako thing. It's too clunky, looks like 5hit and Tucker is way to good not to start. We have national championship caliber talent and if he stays with the aforementioned front court we won't function well enough to get out of the first weekend.

Knight got the “best” kid from Indiana he wanted. Not every kid or just any kid. He lost a few too. Painter isn’t getting those kids. Neither are we. ND is an outlier in this cycle too. We got one tp 50ish kid and Purdue got a nobody.
You are going to make him cry

Something that is remembered are the big upsets in March. Every year some of the NCAA tournament telecasts will include highlights and mentions of the biggest upsets that make the tournament so special.

That is something Purdue is #1 in, or at least tied for #1 with UVA. For the next several decades we'll see flashback highlights and mentions of the Fairleigh Dickinson game during every NCAA tourney. This is what Purdue will be remembered best for -- being one of the all-time chokes. That's tough, but is what is for PU.
This is true and gotta love it!!!

Good for you.
Go hang a banner next to your Helm's mythical championship.
Mythical?? Just the way they did it back then! Did you know back in 1943 Purdue Football went 11-0, went up to South Bend and beat Notre Dame and yet the Helms Trophy went to 10-1 Notre Dame. Wasn't always fair, but it was how things where done. But there is nothing Mythical about it, you go tell Notre Dame their Helms are not real!

I will be glad to tell them it isn't real. It isn't. Go away.

No they didn’t. Lmao. ND got beat by Navy. You never played that year. Side Note. My neighbor grandfather was on that team. Makes me like him even more.

So you are hanging your hat on an award given out by an athletic foundation based out of LA, founded in 1936, four years after your magical season. AND then this foundation goes back to 1901 and votes a retroactive champion for each year in both football and basketball!

Good for you.

Very interesting that Wisconsin was awarded THREE Helms titles in basketball and yet, when I went to Wisconsin's website and looked on their athletics page, there was no mention of three Helms titles. They had a section titled

Non-NCAA National Titles

NO mention of Helms. They also had a section titled

National Championships other than NCAA sponsored

Once again, NO mention of Helms.
Obviously it is because they don't consider Helms a legitimate national championship or maybe it is because, unlike PU they have actually WON an NCAA basketball championship. Hmmmm.

Why don't you guys hang a banner for your Premo-Porretta national championship?
PU was awarded that one in 2009.

Now go AWAY.

If they want to hang a pretend banner from the metal ceiling of THE Hog Barn...let them.

Win what?? Exhibition?
We need to win during the season. Was shooting not a concern last year? Woody restructured entire roster and it looks like this is still an issue. Is it a skill set? Or is our scheme that’s an issue?
My guess we will be an average at best shooting team this year.
Can you just wait before pronouncing weaknesses they way you have until the season actually starts? IMO making any judgements in such a deep seated way based on exhibitions are just a waste of time.

I hope I’m wrong but 4-19 and 6-25 in two games doesn’t look like improved shooting

That's a rhetorical question right?

Said nothing about IU. We're not even relevant on the national scene. I was merely pointing out that the "accomplishments" you mentioned are not really relevant either. You've done well in a conference during the greatest swoon it's known in anyone's lifetime. Congratulations?

lol, stay focused on IU.

Why are there so many Purdue posters on our board? I smell fear...............and pig shit.
wash rinse repeat. Year after year. But it's worse this year, because they gave up on their football team 6 weeks ago and have nothing else to talk about.
I'm not much into running up the score, but I'll make an exception in this case. I home Cignetti hangs a C-note on their asses in a few weeks.

That game will probably be closer than most would think it will be. They don't have wins to show for it, but they've been a fair bit more solid in recent weeks. It would be an epic stumble for IU to actually lose to them, but I doubt its a Nebraska level blowout.

it's their super bowl so they'll leave it all on the field. IU needs to bang on them early and put a crooked number up in the first half.

Cignetti will run up the score to impress the CFP committee.

would be more than a stumble...assuming a respectable loss at OSU, a PU loss would ensure no chance into the playoff. No team gets into the playoffs losing their last game at home to a 1-10 / 0-8 conference bottom dweller (damn it felt sadistically good typing those last couple words...).

This aint your daddy's IUFB. Cig is curb stomping the piglets.

OK... let me get this straight. Exhibition games mean something with respect to three point shooting, but don't mean anything when it's a win on the road over a highly ranked team. Got it.
We pick and choose what they mean to fit the narrative that we push.... Duh

Well shooting shows the skill, so yes it looks like shooting is still a challenge and not it doesn’t mean anything winning an exhibition. It’s a practice game…
Be like a baseball player struggling with strike outs the year before and they have two fall league games and they are still striking out. The issue looks to still be there. Who knows, maybe we are good enough inside for it to not matter

How would you know if your fanbase is enjoyable? You live here dipshit. Go back home and enjoy.

No way you hope you’re wrong. You wouldn’t be able to say told you so in that squealy little piglet voice. Get lost Bstupid08. You’re not from here.

Right. So in an exhibition game, three point shooting matters. But defense, free throw shooting, two point shooting, assists... none of that matters because, you know, it's an exhibition. And competitiveness in a hostile environment against a highly ranked team... that doesn't matter either.

Makes perfect sense. Got you.

Hostile environment? Again exhibition…so no it doesn’t matter….Win or loss. How did we play? Did we mismatch lineups to see how they play together? We showed we still struggle from the perimeter..def not a strength. Not sure what you are arguing here…
10-44 shooting from 3 in these two games is a concern, especially when that was everyone’s question mark on who he brought in.
