Hahaha...Alex Jones is so, so, so screwed...

If you or anyone is interested in hearing Alex Jones' side of it. He did an extensive interview with Steven Crowder yesterday. I think the interview starts at 45:00. Here it is.
He's nuts. He tried to make a mockery of the case but that isn't a valid defense.

Mr excrement is getting his due and anyone defending that POS has their political blinders on..

Not defending what he did. It was despicable. But like Simpson my guess is the families won’t get much money. Jones probably had slick attorneys help him legally protect his wealth.

True, it wouldn't shock me if the families don't get much out of it. Hopefully it will help get people to stop harassing them over the false claims.

I didn’t watch interview. Short version, what’s his idiotic defense?

He was talking if someone getting a default judgment if they were caught robbing a bank and didn't show and then trying to compare that saying he shouldn't have gotten a default judgment because he showed up. Said he got the default judgment because there was no case against him and they made him the victim.

He thinks he will win an appeal because they did so many things wrong.

So basically threw out nonsense in an attempt to play the victim card.

No I’m not interested in the least. Why would I want to listen to a scum like that? And why in the world would you?

i always try to listen to both sides on legal matters. According to Alex, and you can either believe it or not he was not allowed to give his side. He was declared guilty by the judge and so the jury was only there to consider how guilty he was ie punitive damages.

Yes, because he didn't show up to the trial for the stage in which he could have proven himself innocent.

That's kind of important if you want to prove your innocent. You should show up to that portion of the trial.

If he had
And while I hedge on ever wishing ill will on anyone or delighting in anyone's struggles, I'm making an exception in this case.

First, he's going to lose in court and owe Sandy Hook families millions.

That alone is just desserts. What he said and did using his huge platform to defame those families and their deceased kids was terribly wrong. He should go broke for that alone.

But the icing on the cake is that his lawyers are as stupid as anyone who listened to him and took him seriously.
he lives in Texas. He’ll keep his house. Tie up shit in appeals for years. Enter some settlement agreement for a fraction of the judgment and pay over time and keep spinning conspiracies and generating revenue. Doomsday buckets. Whatever. Or be an OJ. He’ll be fine. Pays to pray on the conspiracy nuts. It’s apparently a massive market

I haven’t followed this. Isn’t it civil? There’s no innocent. I thought he got defaulted as a discovery sanction for noncompliance

He put up no defense and instead went back to Texas.

Yeah he was defaulted. So they came back for damages. I’m sure this was the damages portion. Time for “defense” was over. This is a different deal. It’s to say their damages are exaggerated. Very generally spoken

This back in March when he wasn't showing up.

I understand what is happening. I don’t think you do. And I don’t mean that jerky

It's okay.

Wouldn't be the first time. My 16 year old came to me for help with her math homework last week and I looked at it, started to try and help her, and she just grabbed the paper and said "I'll take my chances".

I love my kids wit.

Better than me. My kid is in sixth grade and I'm already tapped out on her math homework. Sucks.

I made it to high school with her.

Geometry. That's where I draw the line.
I was being honest. I’m tapped out already. It’s super frustrating. I was terrible at math growing up anyway. Now they’ve changed it and I can’t help her at all. And somehow she never has a textbook. Just a few handouts with short, cryptic, alibaba instructions.

And I was wrong on why he was found liable (yes, I'm admitted I was wrong, novel concept around here).

He was asked to turn over financial records and didn't do it.

I find the disappearance of text books really frustrating. I have no idea what they are trying to teach my kids or how.

He gave his side and he spent his time badmouthing the judge, the jury and the entire process.

He chose his behavior and then used his own behavior as the reason the process was a sham.

Everything is done on a chrome book here. Even in elementary school. So frustrating.

Google has become my best friend.

Does it seem ironic we all complain about education today then admit we are unable to help our children with their homework?

Marv, my youngest is going on her 3rd or 4th way to do multiplication.

I know how to do one.

There's not a text book to explain any of it. She logs into a portal and there is her homework, all digital.

I messaged my daughters teacher and told her I have no idea what they were trying to do so she needed to help her the next morning because there was no way to skip the problems without inputting something, and what we were doing wasn't the correct way.

I have no idea what's wrong with the old fashioned:
15
X46

But they have some crazy sideways multiplication thing they're doing now that looks like it's written by aliens.

Ridiculous.

I remember back in the 60s when I was in elementary school hearing about how the "New Math" was going to be the next greatest thing. Fortunately, the backwards rural school system I was in wasn't having any part of that newfangled shit. We had our slates and our chalk and did our cipherin' the way God intended.
