No it doesn’t. Just like saying “I can declassify anything” makes no sense. This makes no sense.

There's no chance of Iran, Russia or China getting agents into Mar-A-Lago unless they can come coming up with the 250k membership fee-so no worries. I suppose some of the cleaning staff could be illegal immigrants trying to make a little extra scratch though.S
I that guy on Fox lied, why does that not surprise you. He said that the president has the absolute authority to declassify "anything he wants" it is a bald faced lie. He cannot declassify who our spies are, he cannot declassify nuclear secrets.
Not Even the President Can Declassify Nuclear Secrets
Fan letters and snapshots are one matter, and launch codes are another—and here the details of classification might decide just how much trouble Trump is in.www.theatlantic.com
Further, as that link points out, Biden just has to say "everything Trump declassified is now classified again" and like magic, it is all classified once again.
And yes, it is reported that some of what was found could lead to human spies being burned and some is reported to be nuclear.
Papers at Mar-a-Lago could compromise US intelligence agents, affidavit reveals
Donald Trump feared to be hoarding documents that could have exposed ‘clandestine human sources, commonly referred to as human intelligence’www.google.com
But we should not worry, there is no chance China, Russia, or Iran would try to embed agents at Mar-A-Lago. That wouldn't be cricket.
One is much more dangerous. There is no way Trump sat before hundreds of documents and carefully considered if it was safe to declassify them. NO WAY. Especially if some were nuclear and some revealed human intel, neither he legally could declassify. If he did ponder over each document, how did he debate taking them, and then declassify them when he could not do so?Not the same thing.
There is a famous rule of evidence that all lawyers know: You can’t unring the bell.
That might be true in the courtroom but it’s not true in national defense. Classification of info might have to change based on updated threat assessments and real world situations. It’s unlikely - but it’s possible. Not the same thing.

Bad analogy.Not the same thing.

Let me use the case of Sandy Berger. He took classified data home. At that point, we have to act like Russia/China/Iran has the data because they might. But that did not mean we email them a copy to make sure. We recover it and keep it classified. That might be true in the courtroom but it’s not true in national defense. Classification of info might have to change based on updated threat assessments and real world situations. It’s unlikely - but it’s possible.
But seriously, this notion of Trump getting to declassify everything because it protects him is stupid and you’d do well to walk away from it.
This makes no sense.
I don't put anyone on ignore that posts anything substantive.I hate to be the one to break it to you, but if you’re having a good debate where you’ve removed the opposing viewpoint by putting them on ignore, then you’re only hearing an echo.
It's too bad the leftists won't watch the whole thing.
Nice job of refuting his points. That must have been later in the day as during the day they weren't talking about the unredacted search warrant. Fox's job is to always defend Trump no matter what the circumstances.
I'll put his legal analysis up against your links any day.S

Pure speculation on your part. One is much more dangerous. There is no way Trump sat before hundreds of documents and carefully considered if it was safe to declassify them. NO WAY. How do you know foreign governments didn't access the document's at Berger's house?Let me use the case of Sandy Berger. He took classified data home. At that point, we have to act like Russia/China/Iran has the data because they might. But that did not mean we email them a copy to make sure. We recover it and keep it classified.
There is no formal declassify process, though Trump illustrates why there should be. He said any document he took home was declassified but no one has a clue as to which documents those were (and more than one of his chiefs of staff said they never heard of that policy). So as far as we know, every US document is declassified.
But even excepting that, if those documents still contain info we would prefer adversaries not have, there is no reason to email the info in the documents to them. Reclassify but acknowledge the horse MIGHT be out of the barn (and it might not).
Hey, they have links! It's hilarious watching the non-lawyers lecturing the lawyers on the law and the Constitution.
This is the correct answer.I don't put anyone on ignore that posts anything substantive.
But trolls go on ignore if they've proven there only here to troll.
I only post correct answers. This is the correct answer.
Got it. The government never classifies anything because it shields certain actors from embarrassment, investigation, or even criticism. Same goes for redactions from search warrant applications. Classifications are always on the up-and-up.That might be true in the courtroom but it’s not true in national defense. Classification of info might have to change based on updated threat assessments and real world situations. It’s unlikely - but it’s possible.
But seriously, this notion of Trump getting to declassify everything because it protects him is stupid and you’d do well to walk away from it.
Do you like the cat is out of the bag better? It’s like a blown privilege.Bad analogy.
Start at the base level. No document that the executive branch classifies begins its life as classified. It’s created, reviewed, and given a classification status. In fact, the classification program was created by executive order to organize sensitive information. So any number of government documents from the beginning existed and had to be designated as classified or not. There is literally no difference whether a record is classified immediately after its creation or later.
Furthermore, the focus on classification status is a red herring. From reading the PCA, it had two trains of thought. 1) that he was in possession of a lot of classified docs that included significant amounts of national defense information. 2) regardless of technical classified status and even assuming that the former president HAD declassified everything he could, sensitive NDI can’t just be disseminated or held onto in an non-secure facility.
The bell cliche is about the prejudice caused when something improper is presented to a jury. At least that’s always been my understanding but we should probably double check that with IUCrazy with his litigation expertise. And the bell cliche doesn’t really apply either because let’s assume no one saw the “declassified” documents. Then you could “unring” the bell because no one would have heard it in the first place, or more philosophically, did the bell even ring if no one heard it in the first place.
I suppose. But it’s still a bad analogy because, like I said, if it hasn’t been seen by anyone otherwise unauthorized, then the cat can go back in the bag.Do you like the cat is out of the bag better? It’s like a blown privilege.

Thanks buddy! You've pretty much got carte blanche here, Lucy.
If you cared about classified information that HRC recklessly mishandled and stored on her unauthorized unsecured email server and don’t care about the classified information Trump has recklessly mishandled and stored in an unauthorized and unsecured physical location, you’re a hypocrite.Pure speculation on your part.
You're getting hysterical again.
The magic word is 'nuclear'. Just mention the word and you freak out. You have no idea if 'nuclear' is in the affidavit.
However, it is nice that leftists are now so worried about classifying government documents after they didn't give 2 shits that Hillary had them on her private server and actually deleted them and destroyed their blackberries. What a conversion!
It's hilarious watching the non-lawyers lecturing the lawyers on the law and the Constitution.
Im level 163 in Fortnite currently and I beat Contra once in 1990 without using the Konami code. Not trying to brag or nothing, but I clearly know a thing or two about warfare. My guess is being a naval captain is roughly the equal to an Army Colonel, Aloha has the most real experience. Anyone here top that?
That is hard to top but not to brag, but my last game of Fire in the Lake I won Vietnam as the American.Im level 163 in Fortnite currently and I beat Contra once in 1990 without using the Konami code. Not trying to brag or nothing, but I clearly know a thing or two about warfare.

No one knows specifically what he stole and kept hidden at Mar-a-lago, but everyone knows by now it was supposed to be some of our nations most secure documents and secretsYou have no idea what documents Trump had/has and whether they were classified or not.
Stop acting like you do.
As usual, you believe - and parrot - what the media is telling you.
You obviously don't believe in the US legal system, which says everyone is innocent until proven guilty. And he hasn't been charged with shit.
So shut your piehole about calling anyone a hypocrite.
No, you don't know that. Stop lying. No one knows specifically what he stole and kept hidden at Mar-a-lago, but everyone knows by now it was supposed to be some of our nations most secure documents and secrets
