My thoughts as well. He doesn't give a damn what anyone thinks. Deboer doesn't seem to have that personality.I wouldn’t want the job. Those people are crazy. But I think Kiffen might be one guy who could handle the pressure.

Great job, but I think Texas and Georgia are better. Any maybe USC.Bama job is as good as it gets. If they want someone, nothing will stop them.
If we had the same attitude, we'd be much better at everything including sports.
Go Hoosiers!
Klatt also said that Sexton will potentially control this process to benefit the other coaches that he represents - get better deals from current teams. That sounds like too much influence but not sure there's a fix.Jimmy Sexton seems to be the keyword with DeBeor ... just signed as his agent. Sexton is agent to 11 of 14 SEC head coaches in football, plus James Franklin at PSU. Klatt said on TheHerd, 'Bama will get this done in 72 hours. Plus the AD that hired DeBeor at UW left last fall for USC.
Sounds like a conflict of interest.Klatt also said that Sexton will potentially control this process to benefit the other coaches that he represents - get better deals from current teams. That sounds like too much influence but not sure there's a fix.
Where is the conflict? Sounds like he has a distinct advantage to leverage more for his coaches. If he were doing something that negatively impacts one of his coaches that would be a conflict. It conflicts with the interest of the universities, but that’s not his responsibility.Sounds like a conflict of interest.
WTF?? You still fighting the Civil War?Any yankee would be crazy to take the Bama job unless he has an iron will. If Deboer takes it he better plan on never losing a game.
DeBoer hasn't lost many games as head coach - nine I think in his career. I stand corrected as Deboer has 12 losses.Any yankee would be crazy to take the Bama job unless he has an iron will. If Deboer takes it he better plan on never losing a game.
Apparently Novell has received an 8 yr. extension!Norvel staying at FSU. Still quiet on the DeBoer side.
Saban is making a lot of money for a ton of coaches with his retirement.Apparently Novell has received an 8 yr. extension!
I understand your point, but If you represent 4 top=flight coaches, you have to present them to the Alabama AD as equally desirable candidates. If you represent one, you are touting your client as the one and only best candidate and explaining why he is more desirable than the others. You might even push him as a candidate when he is not initially considered.Where is the conflict? Sounds like he has a distinct advantage to leverage more for his coaches. If he were doing something that negatively impacts one of his coaches that would be a conflict. It conflicts with the interest of the universities, but that’s not his responsibility.
If he is not ultra-successful, there WILL be complaints about his roots, and not being a "Bama guy". Obviously winning trumps everything, so if he can win 95% of his games and 3-4 NCs over the next 10 years he will be fine.WTF?? You still fighting the Civil War?
What? I would say Penix lucked into him.
You think 95% is going to be good enough? I don't.If he is not ultra-successful, there WILL be complaints about his roots, and not being a "Bama guy". Obviously winning trumps everything, so if he can win 95% of his games and 3-4 NCs over the next 10 years he will be fine.
It will be curious to hear what the Bama fans think of this one.he just accepted.
And just think, he has Tom Allen to thank for it. He gets the gold mine Tom gets the shaft.
What a meteoric rise from NAIA to the top college job in America if it happens. Good luck Kalen.
He had a lot to do with Allen getting the ridiculous buyout. And just think, he has Tom Allen to thank for it. He gets the gold mine Tom gets the shaft.

Greatness? That's a stretch. How about real goodness. He briefly touched Indiana with his greatness...
Hadn’t thought about that. Would be a smart moveMan, he brings Wommack aboard I’ll die 😂
First thing I thought! Would be a major promotion over South Alabama and he already has connections across the south.Hadn’t thought about that. Would be a smart move
Will be interesting to see if Sheridan and Inge go with him.And just think, he has Tom Allen to thank for it. He gets the gold mine Tom gets the shaft.
well, they've been turned down by at least 3 people now.Bama job is as good as it gets. If they want someone, nothing will stop them.
If we had the same attitude, we'd be much better at everything including sports.
Go Hoosiers!
That is a fair post. I can't disagree. Obviously both sides have to want each other. Massive grin! Go Hoosiers!well, they've been turned down by at least 3 people now.
The job is a really good one, but it's not much better of a job than LSU, Georgia, Florida or Tennessee and that's just in the SEC. It's not the school that has made them uber successful, it's the coach...and he's leaving.
and has an office in the stadium that overlooks the playing field,Yea but replacing a coach who won 7 titles?
Apparently he has had a 7 year $9M extension on his desk for two months......for whatever reason, he wasn't that thrilled with UW.Heard the final negotiation point was getting his daughter a spot on the Bama softball team. She had just committed to UW four days ago. I'm now assuming she'll change her commitment. 😄👍
Saban did just fine there.Any yankee would be crazy to take the Bama job unless he has an iron will. If Deboer takes it he better plan on never losing a game.
Saban's a whole different breed of cat.Saban did just fine there.
