How’s your spring training trip going? I assume since you don’t need any of that emotional support that you’re still making that trip? Or now that the story has changed have you changed your mind too? Feel free to dance and evade, your story has changed and you’re calling it consistent.
Hmm, if you are talking about me visiting my Mil, it was something planned back at Christmas. We wanted to do it as all my kids could go down and see her, that has not happened in years. But we obviously cannot.
As to cleat consistent messaging, how many times has Trump used the word contained. How many times Friday did he shake hands? True or false, was he planning on continuing campaign rallies even after the Dems stopped? In what way has he been clear and consistent with hos commission?
I think there are some older folks that think, what the hell, I’ve had a good run. Talked to one of those yesterday.

Have a friend with a heart condition and all the symptoms. Dr. Ordered test and said it could be a week or more. Fortunately the person is young, so will probably be ok.
Man, I have to get home and get to the store. Since I’m in Btown most of the year I have nothing in Indy. But wine, I have lots of wine. Also just saw Michigan just cancelled graduation services. This is going to break my heart for the seniors.
I’ve always decided when I get old I’m doing heroin and if it take some out, it takes me out. Little Miss Sunshine is my inspiration.
And their grandparent dying in a few weeks will thank them. Hopefully they will be smart enough to quarantine themselves from the elderly when they get home. I’m in Florida also, but a family not a college destination. I’ve seen lots of peop,e wearing gloves, wiping things down, etc.m
Watching Pence praise Trump in virtually every sentence is amazing/disgusting to watch. I’ve seen “kiss-asses” in my career but nothing even remotely close to this. It’s how I envision North Korean’s interacting with Kim Jong-un

I think most people aren't sitting in front of the TV waiting for instructions from the Federal government on how to conduct their daily lives.

Example: this filter has the ability to take out all the 16,000+ lies. It then only remembers or leaves behind the few bits of information which may be half-truths anyway.
This mechanism also helps you defend the less defensibles.

We bought a cruise 2 years ago and of course it was cancelled. We decided to drive down anyway and go fishing. People literally holding their breath if passing too close to each other. Profiling seems back in style. We stayed in Hollywood today. Ft Lauderdale is madness. Shoulder-to-shoulder crowds (we observed thru the windshield of our air-conditioned automobile. I was actually surprised to see so many elderly out among the m asses, although one couldn't swing a dead cat around in Florida without hitting and elder.
Entry doors, gas pumps, shopping points-of-sale, baskarts, community pens... It's a wonder we're not all dead already.
Once you peak, then in a couple of months time, you will find the retail traffic improving. But then when the 2nd wave will come in. Complacency.
We are at this stage now.
I had no trouble seeing and hearing a clear and concise message from all involved about what to do. But then I’m not burdened with stage 4 TDS which adversely affects your ability to hear, process, and retain information.
Seriously, comments about campaign rallies, statements about containment, and hoax hoaxes don’t mean squat. Unless of course you think squat is important.
My wife and I moved to South Dakota in early December. I took a job helping run a resort at The Badlands. It’s a restaurant/lodging/retail place. The lodge gets booked up in the summer months way in advance. We have staff (waiters/retail/maintenance) coming in to work from across the country. We open up April 25th and our staff gets here April 7th.
Obviously, there’s zero scenario this is cleared up by then. The GM, thankfully, understands the magnitude of what’s going on. Plus he’s highly susceptible to the virus being over 60 and surviving cancer.
I’ve never been in a situation like this before. We are bound by corporate to stay open or not. I’m doing everything I can think of to keep the place safe for our employees and guests, but being apart of a resort makes me feel guilty that I’m potentially contributing to this outbreak. I have no clue what to do right now.

Couple of things . . . .
First: The chances of someone in my age group becoming infected with COVID-19 is 8.8%. The chances of someone within that group from dying from COVID-19 is 8%. Thus the chances of someone in my age group dying from COVID-19 is .7%. The chances of somebody my age dying from any cause within one year is 4.39%. COVID increases my risk of death within one year to 5.09% from 4.39%. Obviously individual circumstances change these averages. And We should take the universal precautions. But overall, this isn't worth hoarding toilet paper over.

Let me add, ask someone like Aloha if military leaders who say batcrap crazy things inspire the men to follow them. What one says DOES matter when one is a leader. The guy on the street corner with a "please give" sign, saying batcrap crazy things is probably a positive.

Yep, if what the lead messenger says is 180 degrees from everyone else, there is no way messaging is consistent. That is the very definition of inconsistent.
CO fooled me with his love of Ike. Ike was not a loud mouthed braggadicio. One would never have tolerated such as a subordinate as seen by his run ins with Patton. One hated, hated, the populist wing of the GOP. One believed firmly in the US taking a lead in world affairs. Ike would be a never Trumper.

He has just enough sanity left to say"discount everything Trump says". When it comes to leadership, and especially when it comes to "consistent messaging", one cannot discount what is said. CO knows that, but he plays a game with it. Most of us are smart enough to know words are part of a consistent message. So we're handshakes.
Polls haze shown Republicans have been less likely to self quarantine and less likely to hand wash more. Where are they getting that message from? Trump going on Fox and saying the virus is contained and is a media hoax to damage his presidency. Yet that is part of a consistent message?

I tried to defend him against you and Rock saying what you both did.. I thought he was a principled conservative, I may disagree with them but I respect them. Aloha would be an example. COs principle is now clear as party uber alles. I don't respect that, not at all. He knows if Trump goes down the whole party goes down because no one can separate the two now. So he is flat out lying. I cannot blindly see it as principled conservative given the way ones like Will, Krystol, Boot, and Aloha, have dumped Trump.

Soooo . . . I found out last night that SopeJr#1 was asked to play guitar at that church's service on 3/1, and a worship leader from his church helped with the church service there on 3/8 . . . SopeJr#1 had no direct contact with that worship leader, but likely had contact with someone who likely had contact with him . . . but no information regarding dates, connections, symptoms and the like . . . SopeJr#1 had no idea about the church being at the epicenter of an outbreak until last night . . .
. . . and our granddaughter #3 - SopeJr#2's first kid - had a 1 year old birthday party yesterday . . . yes, SopeJr#1 and his family attended. I dropped by to drop off presents . . . MrsSope, who is likely facing some fairly major surgery in the next few months, stayed home.
