College basketball transfer rankings, transfer portal, and JUCO rankings

Interesting that Nebraska has one from two of the categories already.

Kobe Webster, who averaged 17.1 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game this season with Western Illinois, tweeted Saturday that he's transferring to Nebraska.

The 6-foot guard will be eligible next season as a graduate transfer.

Webster shot 41.7% from the floor this season, hitting on 33.3% of his three-point attempts.

Four scholarships to give, four coming in. Maybe one more if someone leaves/transfers.

We really need some bigs/size in the future. Got enough guards and wings IMO. Any standout on those lists has probably been snapped up by now.
The ESPN one hasn't been updated since January. There will be other transfers and released incoming freshmen soon now that the season is over.

The verbalcommits list looks more up to date.

I do expect some player to leave. I forget how many left last summer.
Demezi does not seem to get many minutes. I have no inside info.

Go get that Patrick Tape kid from Columbia. 6'10" graduate transfer and finishes well with over 66% FG. Perfect.

Patrick Tape, 6-foot-10, 232 pounds, PF, Senior, Columbia (GRADUATE)
Tape is redshirting this season and will graduate and transfer. A highly efficient offensive player, Tape averaged 11.3 points and 5.9 rebounds in 2018-19 while shooting 66.7% from the field.

232 lbs would get pushed around pretty easy in the B10. Can he defend? Can he finish through contact? If not, he is useless in this league....

What’s our best option(s)? What do we need the most? Alot of opportunities...

I'm not big on grad transfers unless they have power 5 experience and good performance at that level.

I'm also not big on jucos, but I have seen two top 25 players from VU that are still available. Osawe is a very good player and deserving of his #10 ranking. He is athletic, can shoot, and handles the ball well as a 6'-6" wing. We don't need him with Geronimo, Smith, and Hunter. I like Osawe's game.He should do very well in the right program

Porter is a 6'-3" guard that can score and is ranked #17. We don't need a guard either, but someone will be happy to pick him up.

We could use a big, but I would be happier getting a quality big recruit or two in the '21 class.

we could use a post player, but probably one that has more than 1 year of eligibility for post-TJD would be optimal. Depending on if Lander comes we may still have a need for a backup PG and/or a shooter.

The only thing this team needs is a shooter - and it desperately needs a shooter. I don't think any of the incoming freshmen fill the bill of someone being able to give immediate shooting help. I do think that most of our returning perimeter players will be better shooters next year, I've seen improvement in most of them over their careers. But I still think we need to find a transfer with immediate eligibility who can be a true threat as a catch and shoot guy. Every offensive problem this team had this year boils down to our inability to stretch defenses.

Hoping an extended school closure does not jeopardize Lander's reclass.

Offense needs someone to shoot it. If Lander can help run point with Rob then Al can focus on shooting. Still, they need more than Al. Improvement from Rob, Franklin, Jerome, and hopefully Leal or someone else will make a huge difference. But adding a proven shooter could go a long way toward making the offense a threat again.

Just as important is the defense. This team cannot go into next season thinking their defense is where it needs to be. So many issues keeping the ball in front of them, and it is not luck that other teams seem to shoot like crazy against IU. The pack line needs serious work if they are going to beat upper tier teams.

They don't need an Alford, just someone who hits better than 30% would free up a lot of space inside. The DO need a big body who can bang and finish through contact. That could come from getting the guys in the weight room, but our forwards are routinely giving up 40 lbs in the post. It's no wonder the effective FG percentage in the post is so low. To me, in conference, that is a much bigger need to fill, unless you want our guys to keep getting pushed around by Purdue. They are bringing in 4 guys who can help space the floor, already (and players will continue to work on shooting). Brunk or TJD gaining 40 lbs in the offseason is highly unlikely....

I agree on a shooter, but I disagree on that's all we need. We need another post player, 1) as a backup for TJ and JB, esp if either get injured, but 2) moreso for the following year to develop. We definitely lose Brunk then and possibly TJD. Plus, I'm hoping for improvement from our returning guys as you mention, and also that between Lander, Leal and Galloway, they can help as well. Leal had the perfect comment, in that he said when he was a freshman at BS, he was a "3 and D" guy and he thought that he could help us next year that way. Oh yeah, that would lovely! I'd like to see us add a post with at least 2 years of eligibility and gamble on shooters with what we have. Can't find a post, or a great shooter? I'm good w that too!

interesting one here...absolutely humongous dude. Not huge numbers but respectable. No offense to DD but would be a huge upgrade in personnel as this guy can give you 25 min/game. Not much of a shot blocker but space eater who can give you 10pts/6 rb per game. Heard nothing about any interest in this guy. I'd definitely be making a call.

And...even at 7 foot 3....still somehow manages to shoot FTs better than most of our team.

Huge upgrade from JB!

With TJD, Brunk, and Race...well have one of the better front courts in the conference. Not saying I wouldn’t love to get another impact big, especially if he’s a multi year guy.

But in terms of NET impact...I don’t see any question that a perimeter player that can be a solid starter level guy, and can be relied upon to improve either the ball handling/decision making, shooting, and/or scoring...would be our biggest need.

Lander is the most likely guy for that as of now. Finding another perimeter/wing guy that improves any of those things I mentioned, and on the ball defense as well, which I didn’t mention... should be Archies focus for next year with potential transfer wire guys.

Noticed a couple former 4*s in the transfer list, one from Seton Hall and 1 from VA Tech. Hopefully our coaches are scouring all possibilities and find someone to help us next year and possibly longer!

Leal can play the 2, at least for depth purposes. I expect Franklin to continue to improve. Lander could be a starter, but remember it would be his HS senior year. I wouldn't expect him to be a star right away. I wouldn't expect anyone other than Rob, Al, and Smith to be the starters. That doesn't mean the freshmen won't contribute, but let's not expect them to be all B10 level coming in. This fan base real needs to work on realistic expectations. Seriously, TJD wasn't even planning on being one and done, himself, for good reasons..... Romeo was never going to be Zion....

No, I’m sorry I don’t know if we are looking at them. I like to post intriguing players that we might be interested in. I like to hear the feedback from all of you. I do occasionally send them to the coaching staff, but they’ve never responded back. ;)
