Love that he knows IU, will be a great addition to the culture with his knowledge of he program already.

Question for hose in the know: is he the same level of recruit his brother was? He looks a bit smaller to me. How’s he doing at Noblesville.

I’m an IU homer wanting to see the best in the recruits. But the Carmel LB & the two OL (or at least Knight) life d of seem like borderline vs huge talents like we’ve been seeing in recent classes, the 4-star WR just got, etc.

I do trust coaching staff knows types players they want and think they can develop so will give benefit of doubt to them.

But anyone share some of my initial questions here too?

They were both 3 stars. This one is more of a guard. He weighs more than his bro was listed at.

Something I read (Hoosier Huddle?) said he was a 2-Star, as I believe Carmel LB Wise is too. Again, if IU FB Coaches think they have talent and bodies to become better players, I'll trust them to do so and these are Indiana kids too. But this early, I admit it's much more exciting to read of the 4-Star WR signee than two 2-star signees.

I'm Mr. Optimism for IU FB and think it's going to be a great year ahead, and there are still about 18 more spots that can be filled with higher rated players, so it's not like I think sky is falling. Just being honest with gut reaction knowing not a heck of a lot to talk about in May.

To end on a positive, the new locker room in July should be awesome for THIS YEAR's TEAM to enjoy and hopefully give enthusiasm to the season ahead too!

Good info

2-star...
no other P5 offers...
undersized...
brother played for IU...

Remember Jake Repogle?

Many schools do the legacy recruit thing. Sometimes the kids are highly rated, sometimes under the radar.

I think many programs do it to keep a connection.

As an example, Griffin Alstott, signed with Purdue, lasted one year there and transferred to Western Michigan in 2018.

Bo Barzilouskas (sp?) had his dad, Carl, play at IU and in the NFL and Bo was highly toughted in high school. He never lasted. He was a Mr. Football in Indiana.

Here’s a good read:

Wes Martin 5.4 2 star no power 5 offers how did that turn out?
Baffles me to see the questioning of recruits especially from this staff. If you watch the kids film he has good feet and plays tackle at the high school level. He also boasts solid upper body strength. During the tape he pushes several guys to the ground and pancakes an awful lot of big bodies. Get him in here and let him develop.

The O-line seems to be on the uptick and we have several more than capable guys this year to make for a solid year. This new OC will keep defenses off balance and on their heels IMO. Not to mention the RB stable. This could be the best IU offense we have had since 2015!

Personally, I'm damn glad to have him here...!

He's a prototype Guard/Center body type. Reminds me of Jeff Saturday a little...

I don't worry about "star" ratings. Rating the top guys is easy for the recruiting services..., figuring out the rest of the pack is next to impossible because their development is all based on work ethic and heart..., which is why I'm completely comfortable with the concept that if our coaching staff (whose very jobs depend on this young man's (and others) work ethic and heart, have decided he's one of 20 some guys they can win with, then I'm overjoyed about the Commitment.

So I say: Welcome Cameron Knight!!!

I am for this brother of a Hoosier (good genes) who will probably have a superb work ethic, etc. Think one can both welcome all new recruits and still hope we see some more high profiles gets as well.

Very excited for the season ahead mostly!
