Brady suspended for 4 games HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Deflategate Legal FAQs for Tom Brady and the NFL

This is a law-focused discussion of Deflategate legal FAQs based on recent questions I’ve received about a possible settlement between Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and the NFL.

I will also discuss my proposed parameters for a NFL – Brady settlement

So, what do you think the settlement between Tom Brady and the NFL should be?

A minor note on my personal biases for people who skim long blog posts because life is short: I am a Texans fan, and a suspended Tom Brady is likely a good thing for my favorite team, not a good thing for my enjoyment of watching the best players play.

That said, if all of us are looking for something that is good for the game, I need to do what some coaches do in training camp. Strip the names off the backs of the jerseys, and come up with a reasonable basis for settlement of both sides.

The best settlement for everyone would be a zero game suspension, no admission of guilt, maybe a fine if Tom Brady feels like giving to charity to make this go away. NFL fines go to charity.

Please die.

This sounds like a concession speech to me.....

....and then you drop that your favorite team is actually the Texans?

Jesus.....go pound some hot sand.

Not his team. It's the team of the stupid chick from Texas who wrote that worthless piece of chit. Opinions are like a$$holes and all that. Another in a long line of worthless posts from Chitter. Between the denials regarding the "deflator" moniker and TB breaking his phone on the day he was to meet with Wells, to believe that you literally would have to be the most clueless moron on earth. Goodell was given the power to adjudicate these matters in the CBA. This is a matter that deals with "the integrity of the game", TMP's point notwithstanding. No judge is going to circumvent the CBA. Not in NY. Ultimately they'll negotiate it down. Probably to 2 games. And then Chitter can try to act like a normal person again.

I'm surprised anyone would even hire her for this type of work.

The fact that she used that photo of herself kicking back with a glass of red wine with a chicken lawn ornament speaks volumes. That may be the douchiest photo of a woman I've ever seen.

I didn't say he was the only guy to get 4 Rings. I did say the stats don't lie. I would let Montana be in discussion of the best of all time. After him......It is comical to throw anyone else in. Look Brady's damn numbers in the BIG GAMES!!!
Terry Bradshaw never lost a Superbowl. Just sayin'
How's that for coming up big in big games?

Pretty big. Then again, I saw him put his hand on a small boy's head and shove him down when the kid was asking him for his autograph after a loss to the Bengals in 79. Needless to say, I've never liked him.

Were you that kid hoosierdug? All Bengal fans deserve to be pushed down, it's where they belong.

All heroes are flawed. I'm sure Terry had his bad days. I won't post links to ridiculous quasi-attorneys drinking wine with ceramic chickens and forgiving Terry for pushing a kid down (although I might be able to find one).

Here's a much better discussion (link below). It's from boston.com, so it reflects what sensible people in the Patriots' backyard really think about Brady. Here are some quotes from the article:

-- "Brady now looks more guilty than ever."
-- " It is indeed a damning turn in the Deflategate saga for the Super Bowl MVP, a matter that only the blindest of excusatory Patriots fans can reason with a shrug of the shoulders and a nod to their TB12 shrines."
-- "His reputation has taken the ultimate hit. He, like Bill Belichick and his team before him, is now, officially, seen as a cheater."

I know Outside Cheater will want to read the entire article, so here's the link:

That would not be the BEST settlement for all involved. That would be the best settlement for Brady and his worshippers that can't see past the end of his Johnson. The BEST settlement for all involved would be an asterisk placed by his name. Period! I could care less about fines, but the Cheatriots have gone too far this time, and it's time to pay the piper. Brady's legacy, just like Belicheat's, is now forever tarnished. DEAL WITH IT!!!!!!

Here's a bonus link, to a column by Dan Shaughnessy in The Boston Globe, making clear what he thinks of Brady, Kraft and the Patriots, writing: "No matter what happens now, the hard-earned accomplishments of Brady and the Patriots are tarnished."

Piper's dead. Now it's all clear. Brady killed Rowdy Roddy Piper to avoid paying him. Hope the tabloids get a hold of that little factoid.

For those of you that struggle with the science, this is a simple explanation.

Footballs drop in pressure when you cool them by playing outside after they were inflated inside. Based upon game conditions, the Patriots footballs should have lost 1.0-1.2 psi, based just upon the temperature drop.

The Patriots footballs dropped on average 1.0 psi, if you trust the ref’s memory on the gauge he used. That indicates that nobody took any air out of the footballs, rather they just cooled down and lost pressure normally.

If you decide that you DON’T trust the ref’s memory on what gauge he used, the Patriots footballs dropped on average 1.4 psi, or about 0.2 psi more than you’d expect by the temperature effect alone. So did someone take 0.2 psi out of the footballs? That’s a silly conclusion, even if you (for no reason) distrust the ref’s memory. Why? Because the 1.0-1.2 expected drop relies on many assumptions, such as temperatures that were simply not recorded. The football measurements (1.0 or 1.4 psi drop) also have a lot of inherent error. For example, the same NFL person testing the same ball (the intercepted one) with the same gauge three times got psi readings that varied by over 0.4 psi, so the 0.2 psi difference seen even with the “low gauge” in one reading is well within the normal variability (error bars, if you will) that comes with testing footballs for their pressure.

Now what if you believed Mortensen's bogus report on ESPN, that 11 of 12 footballs were over 2 psi deflated, rather than the real facts? You’d have thought that the Pats may have cheated. If he had spoken the truth, though, you would have known that they did not. IN JANUARY!

I wasn't. I didn't even know the kid. We were all just there to get the players autographs, most of whom were very nice and happily obliged. I got Lynn Swann's, Mean Joe Green and a few other guys. Green actually let me try on his SB ring. As for the kid, he was very polite in asking (Mr.Bradshaw, can I please have your autograph). I remember it like it was yesterday. The kid asked him a couple times after which TB said no and the kid persisted and asked a 3rd time. Bradshaw abruptly stopped, turned to the kid and said "I said no" and put his hand on the kids forehead and shoved him (the kid was walking alongside him). The kid fell backward, at which point my dad and another man started yelling at TB calling him every name in the book. A guy walking with TB, hurried him onto the bus and that was it.
I was and still am a Bears fan (I do also root for the Colts). You can verify this with Ziz who is constantly giving me chit. lol. TB will always be the douchebag who shoved a small boy to the ground.

DAMMIT! I could give a flying phack! NOBODY DOES! The point is that they were routinely deflating balls. For years. I'm pretty sure every person on this board not named Chitter and e-dipchit believe O regarding his info over you on this. You really believe the "deflator" name was based on weight loss? That Brady destroyed his phone on the very day he was interviewed by Wells for other reasons? Please just STFU.

Sounds like the kid was a little brat constantly asking for that autograph. He was probably going to sell it to some local sports dealer (this was before Ebay right?). Just kidding. Like I said, everyone has a bad day. I once saw Peyton Manning take a dump on the side of the road and then try to feel up my wife. He claimed "cultural differences" but I know better.

Outside Cheater's reliance on science doesn't fly --because after the referee examined them pre-game, one of the two deflators who later got fired took the balls without authorization into a private bathroom before those balls were taken on the field and given to Brady. Whatever p.s.i. the referee actually measured was rendered scientifically unreliable by the deflator's actions.

I don't have to go back to January to see unmistakable signs of cheating. I point to: (1) Kraft's abandonment of the Patriots' appeal, (2) the Patriots' and Brady's refusal to give their complete cooperation to the NFL (refusing to produce the deflators' for additional interviews and refusal to give up the complete text content on Brady's phone), (3) the Patriots' firing of the two deflators and (4) Brady's destruction of his second phone (while keeping his first and third phones intact). That's enough to get your ass convicted in court no matter what "science" you try to offer in your defense.

Dude, on my worst day I wouldn't do that. Have I wanted to throttle some little bastages who were acting horribly? Sure. But I didn't. This kid was being as polite as was humanly possible (save the asking a 3rd time) but good grief, he was a Steelers fan and idolized Bradshaw. I'm guessing that fandom died that day.
Did Manning also teabag your wife?

Wow, you don't know the first thing about what happened, do you?

Why wouldn't the second set of measurements, taken at halftime 2 hours later, not reflect what had happened to the footballs since the previous test (pregame)?

Brady went to Europe with his wife to celebrate her retirement. That is where his phone broke. On the day he returned to the USA, he replaced it. Why not? Brady had told the NFL that they were not getting his phone. They said, IN WRITING, that they were OK with that. As long as he shared his phone records, they did not want his phone. He generated lists of every text, call, ans email he sent, including the texts to the ball boys. It showed that there were NO additional texts, calls, or emails to these guys. The list from Brady showed texts to 26 other Patriots coaches, Patriots players, NFL players, and NFL personnel. The NFL decided that checking up with these 26 people, known by name, was too much trouble.

That's almost as bad as a famous quarterback fathering a child with an actress, then leaving her for a model that carries his testicles in her purse and makes him wear uggs...

It sends a strong message, him volunteering to testify under oath. It also sends a strong message that Kessler asked for the transcript to be released the day of the appeal, that the NFLPA/Brady wanted this released to the public and the NFL wanted it sealed forever.

Oh man. Wells Report disclosed all but 3 digits ofTom Brady's old cell #. They should have redacted more of it. That sucks. pg 89

CLmt5iMUwAAteR-.png

The fact (and it is indeed a fact) that Goodell lied about Brady's explanation for his phone calls to Jastremski should definitely factor into the case. Goodell used that in his decision to uphold the appeal, but it was a lie. That is an unfair/incorrect use of his power.

Another big factor is that Wells testified as saying he did not want Brady's phone and that whether or not Brady handed over his phone/documents would not factor into his decision. That further suggests punishment was handed down unfairly.

Finally, the fact that Reisner was doing the questioning at the appeal hearing yet was also part of the investigation undermines the independence of the investigation altogether.

There's a lot that reveals this whole thing to be a complete sham, but I think those three points should be factors here. (I'm not a lawyer, but I have a good feeling about this Judge Berman).
