8) Patriots complain to NFL when they are told the actual measurements, after they sign a non-disclosure agreement
9) the NFL refuses to correct the lie and forbid the Patriots from releasing the facts
From this point on, the NFL was in too deep. They had set up a sting, lied, falsified data, and admitting this was unacceptable. To halt would also anger the 31 owners who were happy about the NFL taking down a team that they cannot beat and that defies the PARITY model.
Before they understood the science, they also sunk 5 million bucks into a sham investigation.
It snowballed to where we are right now.

For many, it'll never be that simple. As an example, OJ Simpson was officially acquitted by the legal system, but many never accepted that he was innocent. Your reasoning seems to say that a pro-Brady outcome would require everyone to "think that Brady could be innocent" (which is what Outside Cheater asked) no matter what evidence was presented and no matter how many questions were swept under the rug by Brady and the publicity-conscious NFL. The outcome alone will not be enough to make Brady appear innocent.
The Patriots' firing of the two equipment guys, plus Brady's previous berating of the equipment guys, plus Brady's destruction of only one of his phones (but not his previous phone which he apparently still has) on the day he was to meet with investigators, plus Kraft's 180-degree change in position, plus Brady's inherent role as the only man in charge of the condition of the footballs all suggest that Brady had something to do with the condition of the footballs and was trying to cover up something. Because of these things, he does not appear innocent. Outside Cheater's defense relies on assertions that remind me of a hypothetical situation involving a hypothetical guy who is seen running from a closed bank in the middle of the night while the bank alarm is going off but then absolutely refuses to explain what he knows and chides the investigators for being unable to prove he robbed the bank. I don't think Brady is even trying to appear innocent -- I think he is just refusing to knuckle under to authority.
Outside Cheater keeps insisting that p.s.i. measurements must be performed under laboratory conditions but Brady never bargained for footballs to be measured under laboratory conditions. Instead, NFL's ball pressure rule states, "The Referee shall be the sole judge as to whether all balls offered for play comply with these specifications." Might be debatable what this means, but the language doesn't say that ball pressures must be determined in a laboratory or that lab results trump the Referee's determination.
Until Brady (1) gives up his phone fragments and all of his other existing phones so they can be analyzed and (2) obtains all his missing texts and emails from the recipients and others, and (3) until the two fired equipment guys give actual testimony that appears plausible and credible, I don't see why skeptics would even begin to wonder if Brady could be innocent.
