Per previous reports from the most trustworthy sources, Brad Stevens was given a deadline of Feb. 26 to make a decision on the IU HC position. We all already know why Feb 26 was the deadline and why this date is so important. I guess we will know tomorrow whether or not we can end the coaching search or cross one more candidate off the list.

Godspeed to ya.

Won't know until after IU is done--even if the next coach is already lined up. Perhaps even during or after the NCAAT.

I imagine Brad wanted to take some time with family at a quiet, remote retreat to ponder this momentous decision. Some solitude to clear his mind and be certain that he makes the best choice for his future. So I'm glad that Dolan offered him the time to go through all the pros and cons with his wife and to receive wise counsel from those he trusts....

...LOL, I'm just kidding. I'd have loved to have been a fly on the wall when he learned that we'd put him on a clock. I wonder if he'll even respond at all.

I bet he's really struggling with this decision. So much so he doesn't even realize there's a decision to be made.
Nah I sent him a calendar reminder this morning. From what I can see, he had his calendar blocked off this week to focus on The Hoosier Decision.

So does this mean after tomorrow everyone will stop including him in the search? If he says no? Because everyone knows why tomorrow is such a big date, not the 27th or the 28th but PRECISELY the 26th

Well, most of us won’t know if he says no or yes until the official HC hire announcement. So we likely need to include him on our lists just in case he does in fact say yes tomorrow.

Even if he says no tomorrow, he may change his mind over the next month so probably safer to continue speculating with him as an option.

As for the big date of tomorrow, i can’t add anything more of significance than what has already been said.

Wow! This is weird. That's the same date I gave Taylor Swift to decide between that Kelce dude and me. I'm simply tired of her dragging this on. Been drinking since noon because I am fearful for the worst.

Should things work out, you're all invited to the wedding. Reception at Nick's with Ms. Stevens in charge of the Sinking the Biz tournament.

I've heard he's been surreptitiously monitoring the fanbase via some of their internet message boards to see if they are real fans or not.

I heard Brad's wife was spotted in Indy looking at houses on North Meridian. And Brad himself was just spotted driving near Washington, IN.

He's going back to Butler? IUIndy? Gonna run the Pacers organization? (I would actually put this as the most likely thing to bring him back to Indiana, at this point).

Potentially Oakland City Univ if he’s looking down by Washington. Heard their NIL has grown exponentially over the past year.

I don't think anything is going to leak, regardless of the new coach, until the season is over. NDAs keep peoples' mouths shut. Bloggers just start up rumors for clicks. No one really knows anything right now, and an announcement before end of the season would be a disruption to the rest of this season and a very bad look for SD. At. least 3 more weeks of guessing games.

I remember a Fred Glass quote during a previous coaching search that sums it up pretty well: "Those who know don't talk. Those who talk don't know."

yeah I'm shutting down the coach thoughts and looking at other boards for info for the next week or two. Nothing but guessing and biased opinions getting tossed around. I think SD is professional enough to know the big reveal needs to hold off until after this season is completed. Like or hate the results of this year, it's a disservice and massive disrespect to the present team (and yes, even coaching staff) to have this story break before the season is over.

I really miss the insider reports from Fpeaugh. He had the real scoop.

He would have told us by now that he saw Billy Donovan, Bigfoot (not our Bigfoot but the actual Bigfoot from the Pacific Northwest), Brad Stevens, Elvis and Pitino all wandering through Cook Hall today.
Bigfoot is from Greene county buffalo boy.
