Batten down the hatches gang

Trump-backed candidates won much more than they lost.
You keep backing the loser. Any Republican can win in some of these races, but his crappy candidates in close contests may cost us the Senate AGAIN. He also cost the Republicans a bigger majority in the House.

I think you're fooling yourself. 'traditional' Republicans get beat up and their lunch money stolen by Democrats.

Desantis learned from Trump to fight back - he wasn't like that until Trump backed him.

And whenever Trump isn't on the political scene, Republicans will go right back to being Democrat-lite.

You mean the traditional Republicans that outperformed the Trump flunkies across the board? Get a clue.

I'm not backing anyone. I'm just countering lies with facts.

You've bought the propaganda. Trump-backed candidates won far more than they lost.

But you're not known for thinking for yourself.

We just discussed this last night. Trump's a master at taking credit where it's not due. The vast majority of candidates he endorsed were going to win with or without his endorsement. Much more telling is how his candidates are doing in competitive races, and the answer there is "Not very well."

So, he’s the John Calipari of politics.

I'm just going by the number he supported who won and the number he supported who lost. You say can say they were going to win with or without him, but I seem to remember Joe or some Democrat putting out a list of 300 that Trump endorsed and were targeted.

Of course, the ones who win in those competitive races you never hear about. Here in North Carolina, I barely saw a commercial for Ted Budd and yet, he won handily over Beezley, who was a strong Democrat candidate in a state Trump barely won.

But sure, let's focus on just the few he's lost.

The fact is that Democrats love Trump’s impact on this election because it’s been a disaster for Republicans.
Winning control of the House is hardly a disaster.

But keep spouting the Democrat/media narrative.

We should have won the House by a comfortable margin, and it will be by 1 to 3. We should have easily regained control of the Senate as well. We certainly should have under the circumstances - with the exception of the lousy candidates who won primaries mostly because of Trump and Trump being very toxic in the generals. He is a huge loser. I hope you understand that now.

Jesus. We win the House and that's just not enough for you.

Talk about moving the goal posts.

You are being disingenuous. See Aloha's post above. Terrible inflation, economy that's not great, a President with very low approval ratings, and a mid-term to boot.

This was not a Republican success and you know it. You would have laughed 60 days ago if anyone suggested the current scenario.

Lol. You do understand that in midterms the opponent usually win at least 20 and usually more seats. This time, you have the President with low approval ratings, high gas prices, high inflation . And you’ll be lucky to eke out House control. You’re in deep denial if you think this was a positive election for GOP . And if you don’t think much of this was Trump’s fault. Trump and Dobbs were the two main factors.

No, you're being ridiculous. What about Aloha's post? Whining because we didn't win more of a majority in the House?

You are spouting the Democrat narrative, just like he is. Would you rather the House stay Democrat? Stop whining and get behind Republican candidates, even if Trump endorses them. You never Trumpers are killing Republican chances to win elections.

You do understand Nancy Pelosi will no longer be 3rd in line to the Presidency, right?

So, you are saying Biden's policies aren't working? And you voted for him.

Who's the one in denial?

So you don't disagree.

(How was that? That's how it's done, isn't it?)
No, that's not how it's done.

If you want to argue facts, then do it. If you can't, stop deflecting by saying it's trolling. Or, you could just answer the question.

Moving the goal posts? We should have won both halves of Congress pretty comfortably under the circumstances. We didn’t - mostly because of Trump. It was not good for the GOP and you need to stop trying to spin it differently. You’re not looking smart.

Also, do you at least acknowledge that Trump is a loser? I'm offering you a chance to regain a little self-respect! ;)
Maybe that's your problem. You're trying to find self-respect on an internet message board.

Not me - I don't need this place for validation.

Pardon me if I find it hilarious that you're the judge of who is looking smart.
