Baltimore bridge collapse

I was watching those cars and trucks zoom past in the video. What a horrible situation to be in.
That bridge always made me nervous.

The one down near Annapolis, I could barely drive across in an SUV. Had an early morning golf tourney one year where I drove across that Chesapeake bridge in a thunderstorm in the dark...was driving like 10 mph.

That one down in Mobile, AL as well. Driving that in a 30 foot motorhome with the wind up there...awful.

I don't dig bridges. I may never go to Key West....couldn't handle it.

That ignorant comment from a Twitter Twit is yet another example of the garbage that gets spewed on that platform. The bigger problem is that people are ignorant enough to believe that garbage. No doubt thousands of people, who know absolutely nothing about ships or driving ships are convinced it was deliberate and they will not be swayed.

My only question is if the ship lost power twice, where did the first time happen and how much time was there between recovering power and losing power again?

Not sure but I have read that the ship was able to alert officials (harbor master?) before striking the bridge, and that this saved lives. They were able to stop additional traffic from being on the bridge. That's why there were apparently only 8 people on the bridge when it collapsed.

Liar. That’s two questions.

I think common ****ing sense rules out the terrorism possibility. Terrorists wouldn’t drift a ship into a bridge they’d hit it at full speed.
People were speculating they somehow cut the power on the ship through a cyber attack not that they drove the ship. Seems highly unlikely though.

It's a combo question! ;)

One of the major downfalls of social media, in general. Facebook is just as much of a cesspool.

So? Lots of whackos run for Congress. In 2022 she was 6th in the Republican Primary. She has never held an elected office. She is a loon. Yet, you seem to think her views on what happened in Baltimore are relevant.

She's no different than those that are actually elected to the house.

@JamieDimonsBalls little random trivia knowledge. Saint Louis and Baltimore are the two largest cities in america without a county. It’s led to significant inefficiencies, development issues, etc. lots of shared misery between the two cities

Interesting... I wouldn't think needing county oversight would be beneficial, since there would be additional taxes and bureaucracy, but those anecdotes aren't a good look for a county-less city.

She's much different. If she wins, she'll immediately vault into the Top 2 hottest Congresswomen. It would be her and AOC for the championship belt. And she's a BTC backer from Vegas!

McMurt, you want me to DM her to see if she's on adderrall?

Odds she was a high end escort at one time? Zero details on her past...

yeah it's a weird deal. so napoli that's stl county. when the city got its charter it didnt' have a county and couldn't annex all of the munis that popped up, many w/ wealth from clayton, to ladue, to frontenac, to town and country, etc. it inhibits economic development. regional growth. tax revenue. all sorts of things. stl city sc the mls team dubbing it City SC is an homage to the City and that divide. well baltimore suffers from the same drill. baltimore city is independent. no county. and has many of the same problems as stl

The ship is from Singapore. @sglowrider is also from Singapore. And of Chinese descent.

This was not an accident; this was the first salvo in WW 3. A test, to see how we react and done solely because Joe Biden is in office. And you can see from how the bridge fell--the angles, speed, twisting-- it wasn't just the ship that caused this. There must have been explosives placed on the trusses to accomplish that, no doubt placed by spies who snuck in across the southern border in combination with the Proud Boys and other White supremacists. Singapore was involved, of course, because they are a patriarchal society dominated by Whiteness and Baltimore the target because it is a majority Black city.

Did I get it all in there? Can everyone else refrain from the conspiracy theories going forward?
Sounds plausible.....

Take a boat to Key West. I know there's one that leaves from Naples.

Boebs is probably on her way out....

Think she's good for a home video of a handy in public?

If so, she's #1 in my book. I like that kind of crazy.

I hate driving across bridges like this. The semi on the Louisville Bridge and this most recent incident do nothing to assuage that anxious feeling.

(Sorry to make this about me.)
i'm deathly afraid of heights but bridges don't bother me as long as you're over water. anything over water doesn't bother me. even flying over the ocean and i hate flying - as long as you can get out. you can fall from any height, 40,000 feet, and survive over water provided you time the pointing of your toes perfectly. you'll just go really deep.

Plus, you can jump out right before you hit the water......

Have you ever tried going over Niagara Falls in a barrel? You can get famous doing that.

How can you write that long thread and not blame it on Trump somewhere along the way.🤣
And you somehow forgot the microchp in the vaccine view. :)

Same. I’m not afraid of bridges per se. Had a friend who was terrified. But gotta say I always am relieved to get to the other side. And I have to drive over the 82 street green one daily!

I never think about it.... stuff like that can drive you crazy. Just think about how man bridges you drive across going to FL if you live in IN.

You can always fly. 🤣 🤣

Wasn't the guy on the Louisville bridge driving on a suspended license? I don't know much about the story but did the accident have anything to do with the bridge or was it just a stupid person behind the wheel?
