Mrs. hooky tells me it is (was?) on sale at Meijer for 50% off.

Current freezer situation is 9 more packages in our collection.
My ex stoker’s dad had a heart attack and died a few years back. Was a big hunter. I’ve never seen a more impressive freezer than that man had in his basement. It was massive. Every kind of meat and fish conceivable. Just perfectly stacked, dated. It was unreal.

After he died she sold the house a year or so later. We didn’t go over there after for months. During that time we forgot to pay the electric bill. Opened the door and it was like what the Texas chainsaw massacre must have been. Floor covered in leaked blood. Walls of maggots

Dude, the first and only rule in that scenario is "secure the meat" FFS. May the spirit of that great man haunt you in perpetuity.

Rookie question here: does bacon freeze well?
I've never had an issue freezing any kind of meat. Fish needs to be used in the same year, assuming it's packaged correctly, but I've pulled roasts out of the freezer after 2 years and it looked like it just went in. That's the downside to chest freezers. Easy for things to get lost and end up on the bottom. Gotta vac pac everything to make sure it lasts.

Tips on defrosting? Natural thaw overnight?

Screw that. Throw it in the sink. Fry in the morning. What are we doing?

You're still cooking the food.... WTF does it matter? I could see this if we're talking about maybe a steak or something that's only going to get seared...
