Coach Cig’s Water Cooler Tailgate: Gotta Light?

Let’s go!! Pizza, beer, TV, and IU gear are all a go. Picked up an 8.7 abv six pack so I’m ready to feel awful tomorrow too.

I was out in California from the 5th to the 13th, visiting my FiL, and had my red IU hat on almost the entire time. The number of people that stopped me in the airport and while there was crazy. I usually get a couple of "Go Hoosiers!", but I bet more than two dozen people talked to me about the football team. I had a Michigan fan that talked my ear off at a brewery and when he was done, here came a guy who was a Vols fan and IU dad who wanted to talk ball. Just awesome what's going on right now.

When it comes to football, they don’t hate us yet.

They went to New Zealand to find a punter….all they had to do was go to a wealthy suburb of St Louis
I could punt better than that now. With four beers and a pizza in my gut in tennis shoes and lulus. I’d bet money on it.

That nd ball touched the ground. That hurt. This game is over. We’re a good team not great. Benefited immensely by scheduling. That’s okay. It was really fun

Folks from South Bend probably say the same thing about Bloomington.

Neither town offers the restaurants and hotels of say Chicago.

Yes, JDB, there are people who think Chicago is special :).

Remember living in South Bend and spending weekends in Chicago which was only a couple of hours away on the Chicago and South Bend Railway.

Columbia City isn’t South Bend

O line not good enough. Hard to judge a QB when they have 2 secs to pass every play. He's not mobile but has a very accurate arm. Maybe a backup.

Not that accurate with a little pressure in his face. Can’t climb the pocket well. OL bad but his shot clock and our play calling is not good

Nah. We're wildly outmatched on the line which is where football is won and lost. Same as the OSU game.
Of course. But there are things you can try. Hell they said it half. Stop trying to run. You’re going nowhere. The kickoffs. Fair catches. Try something. He coached knowing they were going to lose and trying to make it look better than it was

28-3. 35-3. Who cares

Trying bullshit that you never did all year to try to trick play your way into a game is how you look like the Colts

We played very conservative. That last punt showed we were content to lose by as little as possible.

Which I normally hate but I'm willing to accept the theory that we are playing like we belong there and not like an upstart.

But we just got outclassed tonight. It happens.

I am not a fan of going out with a whimper. It feels like he didn't trust the team to adjust.

And the damn narrative that Indiana was a product of schedule will dominate the off-season.

We were a product of schedule. Mich and Wash were awesome the year before. It was perfect timing to get them this year. We didn’t beat anyone good

We were solid. Not top ten.

Had 7 on the line on the 98 yard run. Other than that the defense had players in position to make plays. We missed tackles. We also used poor leverage and attacked the wrong shoulder on several key plays.

Then you must have loved the end, there. Stretched the game out forever, but they did everything you are supposed to do if you are going to come back from 24 behind in the last few minutes.

How did we score twice at the end? I left after ND last TD. We played way too conservative of a game. Barely any long passes. No passing in first down, all fair catches. No special plays. Disappointing

I'm sorry....any moron calling out 'coaching' after the best season in IUFB history (in year 1) deserves a lifetime ban from this site for being dumber than dirt
This was a magical season benefitted greatly by a favorable schedule. Maybe cig is a lucky guy. We deserve some luck. He’s also done a wonderful coaching job all season. Tonight his play calling lent itself to keeping a respectable score not actually trying to win. His play calling was literally questioned by herbstreit Saban etc at half time.

Maybe he knew we had no chance and it would be better for the program to just keep it close. That 28-17 meant more to him than going for it and losing 42-10. Who knows. Way too conservative to have any chance to win. That was a dud.

“The Hoosiers coach was anything but aggressive ….”

What do you watch like 3 football games a year?
