Are we a unified Reich in our country

That’s crazy. It’s always been the Third Reich. And and want the hell is neo- Nazi ideology. Is there more than one kind of Nazism with which you associate Reich?

How often in America do you think people sit around and discuss the pre-Holy Roman Empire and use the word "Reich" to refer to it? I am in many discussions about Germany from 1900-1918 due to my fascination with the First World War, I can never remember anyone using "Reich" to describe it. When was the last time you used the word Reich in conversation to describe either time periods? I am betting the vast majority of Americans have no clue what period the other two "Reichs" are.

Almost everyone in this thread is wrong.

The use of the word Reich is clearly supportive of neo-nazi ideology because no one in the American political sphere uses it for anything else. Trying to pretend it is somehow benign makes you look stupid.

There's no reason whatsoever to think Trump or his people purposefully shared this in order to reach out to neo-nazis. Pretending this is some big gotcha also makes you look stupid.

The most you can say is that a few really bad people like Trump, which we already knew.
I am under no pretense that this changes anyone's opinion on Trump but if quoting nazis and using nazi terms and phrases is a nothingburger then it just shows how much Trump has lowered the bar on what is acceptable, which has already become apparent with all of the other crap that has been ignored/defended.

Could you imagine any past president winning their election if they spewed mein kampf at their speeches and compared their campaign to the nazis?

If this was a one off issue, then i might believe this was just a rogue staffer (but it wasn't just a one off issue). If it actually was nothing but a rogue staffer, then the Trump campaign is either scrapping bottom of the barrel to fill their staff or there is a bigger overlap between trumper and neo nazi than people want to believe.

I mostly agree. But those who read Rise and Fall of the Third Reich should understand.

The biggest take away from this thread is the dumbing of America,

Maybe you should look at tge CNN video again, which was fresh in my mind when I started posting in this thread.

The commentator interjected Third Reich as if it was in the original text. This is why I said CNN, mission is to twist things to make Trump look bad, whether or not their twist is based on reality.

As far as I’m am concerned this CNN clip is the same category as both the “both sides” and “bloodbath” hoaxes.

You're the one who said you never "associated" Reich with Nazis. I think that's exactly what he was associating Reich with- Nazis... And he was in Berlin at the time...
It's about like saying you don't associate the swastika with nazis. Just being dishonest.

The attempts to link Trump to the most prolific Jew haters in the history of the world is incomprehensible. The list of things Trump has done in support of the Jewish State is a long one. They named a town after him and another town named the town square for him. The things Trump did to bring the most dominant Jew-hating country in the world today to its knees is a long one too.

Contrast that with the Obama and then Biden Administration Iranian leniency and support, together Obama and Biden’s very public opposition to Israel’s political leadership and the attempts to link Trump to Jewish extermination is even more dumbfounding. . Biden even called for a change of Israeli leadership. That’s crazy for a President to do.
Isn’t it interesting that Jewish people overwhelmingly support Biden? You must know something they themselves do not. I’m sure…

I'm in agreement that it is overblown. This is something corporations go through, I guess that many employees have lost their jobs or duties over similar mistakes. If someone on the Trump team had said, "this was a mistake and that person is no longer handling our social media", I think even the limited brouhaha it has been would have been mitigated. But that sort of response isn't part of their DNA. It's fine, it doesn't have to be, but it it keeps this a story even longer.

I think it also doesn't help that this isn't the first time and Trump himself has done the exact same thing in using nazi terms and quoting nazi literature.

That's why I don't really buy the rogue staffer story.

Remember when Toby chastises Sam for using the phrase "permanent revolution?" That's what this should have been. A five minute discussion in a room somewhere about avoiding dumb mistakes.

To be fair, stuff like this is generally 5 seconds to bring it up and 10 days of arguing about it

So did criminal Joe steal 5 billion from black farmers to pay off for students loans and his endless plan for wars.

Man you are excelling at what abouts. Do you have ADD? Is it difficult for you to stay on topic? You could start your own thread, you know.

This is just all part of the faux outrage leftists engage in.

They're like pro wrestlers - they all know they're putting out bullshit, but the kids lap it up, just like the dupes lap up whatever the Left puts out, no matter how ridiculous, unproven, or outrageous it is.
Oh the irony. People who fall for Trump and his ilk calling others dupes. The whole world knows how stupid Trumpers are. But keep pretending.

Now he apparently wants to be porno Joe with his wife and her sisters.

Wow you are certainly adding to this thread. You concerned about Trump’s multiple rape and sexual abuses conviction and allegations? Then best stay on topic.

Yeah, and he only recognized Jerusalem as the capitol of Israel - something previous Presidents said they'd do, but never did.
You act like that was some hugely popular mandate, when the opposite was true. It was YUGELY controversial. Secular Jews in Israel didn't really care, and Arabs/Palestinians within Israel were virulently opposed. It was popular within the GOP, but not the US as a whole...

And given that it likely (along with the Abraham Accords) played a major roll in further Palestinian alienation and unrest it's at least a contributing factor in the Oct Hamas attacks. Neither one of those "accomplishments" benefitted Palestinians, esp officially recognizing Jerusalem as the Capital of Israel and moving the US embassy there. These are the type of events that increase bitterness and cause the ranks of terrorist organizations (like Hamas) to swell with new recruits...

As far as Palestinians and Arabs in general are concerned they have as much right to claim Jerusalem as their Capital as Israel has. The issue is supposed to be resolved by negotiations, and the official US policy was to avoid alienating either side by maintaing Tel Aviv (which was the original Mandated Capital) as the official Israeli Capital until the issue was peacefully resolved. Jerusalem was designated as an International city, holy not just to Jews and Christians, but to Muslims as well...

Trump shortsightedly upended 7 decades of US policy and inflamed anti-US tensions, in a move designed to virtue signal and appease his Evangelical base.

"US President Donald Trump recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital on Wednesday and announced plans to relocate the US embassy there, upending seven decades of US foreign policy in a move expected to inflame tensions in the region and unsettle the prospects for peace."

I disagree with that part... because it's not the first time that he, his campaign or his lackeys have done something like this.

Once is happenstance. Twice is coincidence. Three times is enemy action.

Dozens equal ... there is a damn good reason to think they do it purposefully.

I think you're confusing overwhelming support for the political party with overwhelming support for the candidate.

Large blocks/groups of people with something in common like race, religion, ethnicity, occupation, etc... support the party regardless of the candidate that's put up for the local, state or federal office. You're literally seeing this every day in real time with both parties right now and it's been that way for my entire life.

Why, though? The Nazis are already voting for him. They already think he's one of them. What does he gain by dog whistling them?

Trying to apply reasoning to Trump's brain is beyond my abilities..

Propaganda has two targets, the base and the opposition. As we succumb to the fear of the possibility, we react fearfully and say stupid shit, which makes us look ridiculous?

Fk if I know why... but there been way too many circumstances, staffer mistakes etc .. to believe it's accidental..

Trump is the first politician to continue to play to his base after primaries.

Most before would play to the base, win the primaries and then pretend they're normal afterwards so they could sway independents since the base would never cross.

Trump's strategy defies logic and the odds (at least in 2016).

Trying to apply reasoning to many Trump criticisms is mind boggling. This thread, from the mind of CNN and amplified by zeke is a perfect example. It’s one half ignorance and the other half emotion. And all Nonsense. The notion that the reference to Reich in a piece he didn’t write, , which was taken down, established Trump a jew -hating Nazi (or neo-Nazi) is batcrap crazy.

The response to this video has been…….instructive. It’s very important that Trump be “literally Hitler” because anything less and all the lawfare, sham impeachments, fake dossiers, baseless accusations of collusion would be looked at in their rightful context, as evil.

But if you’re trying to stop Hitler, or something similar? Well then nothing is out of bounds, including prison or murder. "By any means necessary" as some would say.

So for Democrats, Trump MUST be Hitler. Otherwise their acts of evil would be inexcusable.

It’s why they distort words he said about Charlottesville, claim he’s anti-Semitic without evidence, leap on words like “vermin”. Anything that can possibly be distorted as a support of Nazism, will be.

Does this make today’s Democratic Party evil? I would say yes. Trump, for all his faults, is not Hitler.

Yeah, maybe ... Trump is an attention whoring troll no doubt. People like him like causing drama for no real reason other than to cause drama..

I do not and will never consider a damn thing you say. I know exactly what you are, nothing but a contemptable shyster. So don't waste what little time you have left on this planet typing to me. The only interaction we'll ever have is me ridiculing the dumbest of your rationalizations and feeble attempts at wit ...

So, F.O. but have a nice day.

None of that is any more ridiculous than you trying to sanitize the usage of the word Reich.

Spoken like a true adolescent. You posted a response! To say F.O? Lol.

Saying what a word means is now sanitizing? I’m just getting warmed up. My next post might be about dairy free ice cream.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Not the Dairy free ice cream... Do you not know how dangerous that stuff is to climate change? You will cause the great water cooler flood of 2024 and trigger a whole new SJW cause.
