I like that archie has decided the NCAA set the scholarship limit too high at 13 and he only wants 10 or 11 players.
I also like that Archie realizes that the 11-12-13 players are always unhappy and just cause problems that he doesn’t want to deal with.
I also like that Archie will allow that 11-12-13 scholarship that could help his team w depth or practice or future development to go to waste. Instead maybe that IN HS bb player could get a job at Mother Bears or a local Bloomington establishment to make min wage and graduate full of debt, or maybe forego an unaffordable college experience altogether, rather than living their dream of wearing a D1 uniform, maybe for the school of their dreams and bust their tail as a practice player that may one day become a HS Coach, a trainer, or any other profession that could be a benefit to the IU program.
Archie’s plan that he is now throwing around rapidly and consistently of ‘getting older’ is tough to do when bringing in 2 man classes(plus a walkon) ...and leaving scholarships unused. You know what those scholarships all become next year likely - young freshman...
Did you not follow the last 2 seasons?Jay Wright only uses 11 schollies (as does Chris Mack).
Tim Miles believes 13 schollies is one reason why so many transfer.
B Snow said that when your 12th and 13th guy gets disgruntled over playing time...that's another distraction for a coach to manage seeping into the locker room.
Plus when you give a scholly to a walk on, that counts on your APR score. Cool huh?
Cliff, Jake and Damezi really helped us last year didn't they with our injuries.
Oh and it's a 3 person class of TJD, Hunter and Franklin. Two top 40 guys and a top 100ish. One front court, one wing and one back court.
Where is this dumpster fire I keep reading about?
What is your coaching backgroundl?Did you not follow the last 2 seasons?
I never said I was a better coach. Just that we can find a better one. And it doesn’t take a professional coach to realize the last 2 seasons have been dumpster fires. Everyone in the country saw that. What is your coaching backgroundl?
It's time, fpeaugh.Anyone who thinks we’re going to be better than last year after losing Morgan and Romeo is living in fantasy land.
No coach should be able to miss the tournament their first 3 years and keep their job. It should be in the contract. If you’re afraid of that happening we shouldn’t be hiring you.
Did you not follow the last 2 seasons?
A team with top 10-15 talent in the country, 8 four or five star recruits, a senior all Big Ten Morgan, playing in a down Big Ten.Yeah, did you?
I saw a lot of undersized guys playing out of position (McSwain, McRoberts, Morgan and Smith) and then watched a team go through a freshman who...didn't have the greatest of seasons while still being undersized.
That team missed the tournament by just one game.
What did you see?
No poster should be able to post over 7100 times and continue to be as stupid as you and allowed to keep posting the same thing over and over and over and over againAnyone who thinks we’re going to be better than last year after losing Morgan and Romeo is living in fantasy land.

And laid an egg for 12-13 games and somehow, some way, managed to miss the tournament. An inexcusable collapse as bad as any there’s ever been. And a coach who looked completely lost through all of it.
YDS . . . againA team with top 10-15 talent in the country, 8 four or five star recruits, a senior all Big Ten Morgan, playing in a down Big Ten.
But it was a team you claimed was talented enough to win the Big Ten and make a serious run at the Final Four. You shamefully hide from that now, but you honestly believed that, yet you criticize others for talking up the talent. Face it. You were way, way wrong. Try owning it instead of ripping everyone else.YDS . . . again
Anyone who thinks that IU should not have been able to make the tourney last year is delusional. We had everything we needed, I like to stay optimistic, but Archie just didn’t rally the guys last year.A team with top 10-15 talent in the country, 8 four or five star recruits, a senior all Big Ten Morgan, playing in a down Big Ten.

Where do you find that IU missed by 1 game?Yeah, did you?

The Ohio State game, BTT.Where do you find that IU missed by 1 game?
along with about 8-12 other teams playing in their conference tournaments...The Ohio State game, BTT.
Both of us were on bubble. Virtually a play-in game. Was talked about on NCAA selection reports.
the press was leading us to believe that the IU/OSU game in the B1G tourney was a play-in game. Still not sure we get in if we squeak by OSU then get drilled in the next game. Will never know. Not too many teams can go Oh-for-January and still have any angle at making the big tourney. Just a couple wins during that stretch and this discussion is moot. But something internal was seriously wrong with the squad at that time (and it wasn't injury) that cost them the season.Where do you find that IU missed by 1 game?

Not ever find me calling out players...And I like that you'll bitch both about open scholarships and "wasting" them on players like Gelon, Priller or Fitzner.
Oh, wait: no I don't!
Not ever find me calling out players...
You think Archie wanted to carry these 2 scholarships forward?
He sure was going after Lester, Trendan, and others pretty hard for that to be his plan.
I don't care if we have 11 or 13 players. Why does it matter if #12 and #13 are players that typically aren't going to play? I heard Archie speak and he seems relieved to have a team that all can contribute and there will be no people complaining.Wow, is IU going to be thin next year. If Hunter doesn't play we will have 10 guys I believe. A couple injuries or foul trouble and it may be comical. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see this team making the NCAA Tournament. 15-18 win team.
without a doubt. that's why there is such an uneasy feeling around here. and probably will be all summer. I keep coming here daily, looking for some good news...any good news...but starting to think I may need to go enjoy my summer and check back in here come mid August. Every day it's the same....the "Archie needs more time" camp vs the "Archie's in over his head" camp. Something that is not going to be decided, one way or another, over the next several months.Hunter's health could be the most important offseason development for IU Basketball.

It was average at best. Far below the ACC or SEC. Certainly nothing to brag about.A down Big Ten? It’s never good to drink the bong water buddy. Big Ten got 8 teams in the tournament (most of any conference) and all but Wisconsin won at least one game (best in tournament). You’re really not that bright.

If you think the Big Ten was stronger than the ACC last year I can’t help you.
Duke, Virginia, UNC, Florida St, Louisville, VA Tech.
Just stop.
Except three of our 11 players were injured last year so we could be down to 8 at some point. I assume Thompson will be healthy but Davis and Hunter who knows. Davis cannot seem to stay healthy for long periods of time.lol ......... you're so clueless .
Illinois has 11. Iowa has 10 with Bohannan expected to be out for a considerable amount of time. Michigan only has 10. Minnesota 11. Nebraska has 13 but 2 are ineligible, giving them 11.Northwestern only has 9, with a 10th sitting out. Rutgers has 10. And Wisconsin has 8.
Not one team in conference has 13 available players for next year. The ones not listed each have 12, with two having 1 ineligible player each.
You are completely FOS and clueless. Which begs the question. Do you often speak when you have no clue what you're talking about? From what I've seen, I'd say yes. You should probably STFU and go sell t-shirts.
